( OOC: I am looking for an eerie suspense and horror setting with a hint of intimacy please message me before posting)

Name: Caleb Montgomery
Sex: Male
Height: 6'2
Weight: 285
Build: Very toned and muscular but not overly bulky
Age: Unknown

Caleb Montgomery was an ordinary man like any other or so he thought.
It was dark and stormy on the night of his twentieth birthday and he received a mysterious present after all his house guests were gone.

Intrigued he decided to open it and he still remembers the smell of smoldering flesh as the bomb exploded pulling first every layer of his flesh from his body before turning his muscles and bones into charcoal ash. Everything went dark as the pain seared through his body and mind.

Looking down at his hand noticing there was not a scratch on him wondering to himself "Was it a dream" Caleb questioned about twenty minutes before looking around to see the remains of his burned and destroyed nineteenth century Victorian manor.

Police and Fireman sifted through the remains until one noticed him "We got a survivor over here"
They ran towards him as he sit there but he did not have the answers to their questions they would obviously ask him so he got up and quickly ran off into the forest behind the house

Sitting on the large oak tree stump by the pond and wondering what was going on he looked around until he felt a sharp pain in his side looking down he saw a piece of metal from the fireplace sticking out of his side and forgetting his first aid training he slowly pulled it from his body only to see the wound vanish within seconds with not so much a scar

"What the hell?"

He proclaimed in shock as he slumped his body to the ground and noticed he was unclothed apparently it did happen as he could smell smoke from his body and he knew the clothes had been burned from his body

"Who would send a bomb to me?"

He asked himself as he fell asleep next to the pond

"Hey, hey, wake up already." A male voice called out. The toe of a finely polished dress shoe nudged at Caleb's sleeping form. The pale prominant cheek boned and sunken eyed visage of a clean shaven man wearing a top hat and show-man's tuxedo came into focus as he crouched down next to Caleb. "Come on... We don't have all day now..." The man muttered. "We've got places to be, people to see." He added, checking an old antique pocket watch he pulled from his breast pocket. he wore bone white gloves and a white dress shirt with ruffles.

Looking up from his watch he saw Caleb's eyes open slowly. "Ah, good, its about time you woke up. Here, take my hand." The man offered his hand smiling, his pearly white teeth showing. "It looks like you pulled through just fine, though, you might want to find a change of cloths... These... Look a little thread bare." The man joked, taking a pristinely white hankerchief and brushing the dirt from Caleb's back. "You know what they say, the dress makes the man and all that."

looking around confused and nervous

"What? who? who are you?"

getting to his feet and looking around a moment

"Ah yes my camping supplies by the maple tree I have clothes in there"

running over to the far side of the clearing and pulling out his backpack from behind a tree and slipping into a pair of boxers and then slipping on a pair of black jeans with a skin tight red sleeveless shirt which shows off the physique he has worked hard to maintain

"Now tell me what is going on here I am not having a good day here"

"No, I don't suppose you are, Cal... May I call you Cal? Caleb just sounds funny to me, like a bean or something... Caleb bean, heh." The man removed his top hat, revealing long stringy black hair. He shook his head and bowed to Caleb where he stood. "You can call me Morty, I'm here... To guide you."

Looking at the man in shock

"Guide me? To where?"

looking at him sternly now

"And don't call me Cal"

"Guide you, yes, its not a destination though. Au con trar, its more of a journey. A journey without end if you will." Morty with an appologetic wave of his hand. "Would you prefer Monty?" Not waiting for an answer, Morty goes on. "You've been given a gift, Monty, eternal life... But there's a cost for that gift, a job to be done. I'm here to show you how to do it, if you'll allow me?" Morty offered his hand to Caleb.

"A cost?"

looking more confused than before

"Don't worry about the cost money is not an option for me"

seemingly oblivious to the gravity of this situation

"As for allowing you I do not have the authority to tell another what they should do with their time"

"Money? Oh ho ho ho ho! You've got me all wrong my good man, the cost isn't money, its time. And I think you mean money is not an issue, if it wasn't an option than you wouldn't be able to use money. So... Yes, you're absolutely correct, I appologize, money ISN'T an option. In time, you'll find its really quite unnessisary for you now."

Laughing heartily at the man

"Ha ha ha ha so you are as intelligent as you are mysterious I was testing to see if this was a dream clearly it is not"

reaching out towards the man to touch his face

"How much of my time do you require good sir?"

Morty smiled and arched an eyebrow as Caleb laughed.

"It is good that you have come to accept the reality of the situation, most simply can't and waste their time running from it at first." Morty stated, returning his hat to his head, patting it into down into place.

"Oh, I am quite real, Monty, as you can see." Morty said as Caleb touched his face. "And it is not I that requires your time, its others. The suffering, the lost... But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, I think..."

"Lets start from the top, shall we? You've died, Caleb Mongomery, your charred remains lay amongst the wreckage of your lovely house. Ut, I know, but here you stand, whole and alive. Yes, that is true, my good man, but it's not the same body you once wore, it looks the same, smells the same, even feels the same, but you now have a body that will never die. I think you have noticed that yourself already? And you'll begin to notice that you don't have any needs anymore, no need to sleep or eat, thats a thing of the past, although you can, if you want to, but that does get boring eventually too... Sorry, I'm rambling a bit."

"But if I'm a ghost, then why can people still see me and talk to me? I can hear you ask, well, we aren't exactly ghosts either, if we were, we'd deal with it and move on to... Whatever comes after. For whatever reason every now and then a soul gets another body, a perfect one, so that we can help others along behind the scenes. The more we help, the more we remain connected with the world, the less we help, the more we fade away. So, it's possible to exist forever, but we've gotta work for it now. I hope that makes sense to you."

"Well it makes perfect sense except one thing I did not see a charred body when I left the scene I left and it was my form like everything happened and I was reborn"

walking slowly back and forth trying to think on this

"Okay so if I am not a ghost and I am not physical what does that make you? are you death?"

walking close to Morty

"Why was I pegged what do I have that you do not?"

"Oh, your body is in there, but I doubt you'd really want to see it. I find the whole business of recovery... Unplesant for everyone concerned." Morty said, inspecting his gloves. He looked up at Monty, chuckling. "Death is a concept, it has no need for physical form. I'm just a guide, someone who helps the dead and dying make it to where they need to be. I can't be everywhere though, so thats why you got 'pegged', once you get the hang of things you can go off where every you feel like. People die everywhere after all."

Momentarily getting upset grabbing the man by his shirt lifting him up and slamming him against a large tree

"No more riddles!"

slamming him once more

"You say that you are a guide which indicates we have a destination and yet you mock my existence with your cavalier attitude now tell me!"

tossing the man effortlessly across the clearing

"What did I do to warrant this curse?"

dropping to his knees in moderate dispair

Morty didn't struggle as Monty grabbed him against the tree. All he did was give Monty a look of pity. "No more riddles." He said after Monty slammed him agaisnt the tree, still not putting up a fight.

Once he landed in a crouch, Morty rose to his feet and brushed himself off. He was hatless and his hair was toussled, but he swept the stings of it back and reached through the empty air, snatching an exact copy of the one he'd been wearing as it formed from a puff of black smoke.

"The journey is to help you accept your duty to the balance of reality... Once we have done that, we will have arived and can part ways. From there, you can make of your existance what you will." Morty approached Monty a bit slower this time.

"It's only a curse as long as you see it that way, lad." Morty offered with a smile. "Come on, I'll show you what I mean."

looking at him semi awestruck and letting a half smile escape his lips

"Very well sir we shall play this your way for now"

walking behind him reluctantly

Morty walked into the shadow of a massive tree and disappeared into it, dragging Monty through with him. The next thing they knew they were in the dark corridor of a city sewer, the light of day shining down through a sidewalk grate above them. Morty let go of Monty's hand and went to look up through the grate. "Good, it hasn't happened yet." He got a drip of rusty water on his cheek and wiped it off.

He looked back over at Monty and smiled, checking a pocket watch, raising his finger like he was marking off time. "Aaaaand..." There was a gun shot from somewhere up above as Morty tipped his finger at the same instant. "There it is, okay Monty, in a minute a young black man is going to climb down here to hide from some people. He's been shot, and he's bleeding out. He isn't going to make it home tonight. He's scared and alone. Its up to you to see him on his way."

Taking a moment to take all of this in he pulls back a moment

"Wait a second how do you know what is going to happen last time I checked eyes were the windows to the soul not through time"

watching in awe to see if he was right

"How do I know this isn't a trick you could have had this set up ahead of time for all I know you could be a mobster trying to make me take the fall for the crimes of your associates"

"We just walked through time and space from the forest in your back yard into a sewer beneath New York... Why would I ever need to try and pull a fast one on you Monty? Honestly..." Morty shook his head, laughing as he took a seat over in a corner. *Bang!* Someone shot a gun up above. Sure enough, a moment later there was the scraping of a manhole cover being pulled out of place and through the shaft of light a young man climbed down, pulling the manhole too, so no one would know he'd ducked down in here.

Watching the man and moving to chase after him

"If we hurry we can stop him and turn him over to the authorities"

Reaching down to open the man hole cover and jumping back in shock as his hand went through it and falls onto his butt staring at his hand

"Oh my God in Heaven help me please I am dead and do not realize it help me in my time of need and deliver me from fear so I may do thy bidding I know I have never believed in you thus far but as of now I believe"

Shaking his head frantically trying to get a grasp on what is happening
