The Mermaid Tale (open for one lady, pm first)

Jack sat on the bench just on the edge of the beach. The entire village was on the beach, relaxing in the setting sun. Not many people were in the water, for they were afraid to enter it. In the village, legend thad it that the waters here were a popular place for men to be collected by Mermaids. It was said that a Mermaid would swim up from their underwater dwelling, and find a man of their liking. Then, they would snatch the man, and bring him underwater, allowing him to breath. Then, they would seduce the man and do whatever the liked with him. What they did when they were done with the man, nobody knew, for nobody has returned from a Mermaids cluthces. They had magical abilities as well, besides letting creatures breath underwater. One example was that they could change their fins into legs, and that they could grant wishes to men that have captured them, in exchange for their freedom.
Jack didn't believe in the legend. He was one of the only people in his village who swam in the ocean, and he was considered foolish by the elders. He stood up from his seat, and ran towards the water. He swam out far, so far that if he was in danger, his cries would barely be heard. He swam over to a rock, and pulled himself onto it, resting silently, looking out onto the great ocean, unaware that his life was about to change forever.

[Damana]

"Hello" a soft voice sounded behind him. Maria's arms rested on the rock he was sitting on. "You've swam out pretty fair...Don't you know there are evil creatures that could scoop you up."

She looked at his back eyes the color of spring grass. Her hair floating in the water around her half up with a string of pearls. The color a dark honey.

Jack heard a voice behind him, and he turned around to see who could have followed him. He was startled upon seeing a woman in the water, and whats more, a Mermaid! He scooted back, but the rock was too small, and he fell off it. He was pushed into open water by the current, and was too startled by the woman to swim. Soon, he began drowning, his lungs filling with water.

Maria's eyes widen as she dove under the water wrapping her arms around jack and giving him a kiss on the lips. A moment passed and soon he was able to cough the water from his lungs only to find he could breath here just as well as he could on land.

She gave him a smile. "You're welcome."

Jack's eyes widened. The legends were true, and now he was a prisoner to a Mermaid. "Please, free me. I'll do anything, just free me!" he pleaded with the Mermaid. Although he had to admit, she was beautiful. Her hair flowed around her, like an angels, the color of dark honey. But, she had captured him, and would do what she liked too I'm! He shouldn't be thinking these thoughts! He to,d itself, but he couldn't help but think them.

[Damana]

She tilted her head curiously. "Is that what you want? You're not the least bit curious about my kind or how we live...or even how we're able to breathe under water." she ventured as she watched him. "At least let me pack you somethings to eat. The current carried you out pretty far before I was able to get to you. It will take you at least two days to swim back."

Jack was startled at ow long it would take him to swim back. "I'm really that far out?" he asked, not really expecting an answer. It was probably true.
Well, swimming back isn't an option, it will take too long, and there would be nowehre to rest except Small rocks. Can't boat back, have no boat, and cant build one down here. Looks like I'm stuck down here until some boat passes by overhead. he thought. He turned to the Mermaid. "Is this some kind of trick? Are you trying to trick me into staying?" he questioned her.

[Damana]

She shook her head rapidly. "No...anyone is free to leave whenever they wish just most stay for some reason I don't know why. Given a few mermaids and men have been known to forcefully keep people down here, but I'm not one of them."

He relaxed a bit, glad she wouldnt keep him. At least, not forever. "Well, hope you dont mind, but I cant leave here. I cant swim back, boat back. Im gonna have to wait until a boat passes over head." he told her. But, for some reason, he knew he was lying to himself, that he had other reasons for staying. He relized, however, that he didnt know what this Mermaid's name was. "What is your name?" he asked her.

[Damana]

"Maria" she said softly a pleased smile on her face that he was willing to stay at least for a little while. She grabbed his hand. "Come on. We need to get back home before the light fades." With a tug, they were off.

Jack felt Maria tug him, and he swam with her. He was a good swimmer, but he couldnt go as fast as Maria. Thankfully, she slowe down a bit so he could catch up with her. Weirdly enough, Jack was enjoying his time with the Mermaid, but he knew he should be dreading it, he knew he should be wishing to return to his home, but he didnt. He was enjoying himself.

Soon Korla came into view. By human standards it would be considered a small town. Merpeople swam around going about their lives. As Jack watched he noticed several humans going along with them a few with collars shells around their necks. Maria paused, "Don't worry no one is going to bother you." she said as she took is hand and swam into what would be a small cafe.

Jack saw the Merfolk town. It was bustling with Merfolk, as is expected, and with humans, much to his amazement. But than he saw why. They were collared, like animals! He was a bit wary, but than Mria reassured him. They walked, no, they swam into a building, and to Jack it resembled a small cafe. He saw that most of the humans were tied to a rack, like horses. He was the on,y uncollared human there. He kinda felt awkward, most of the Merfolk were glaring at him.

Hello friend crooned a tied human from the back of the room.
John was stunned, one of these folks was talking to him?

Yes friend, the Voice answered, it was a tall red headed, man, tethered to the table. "I guess you don't know quite, how everything works around here.
I should say I don't, John answered. To the Mer, folk, we humans are curiosities. We are kept alive, because they find us interesting.
The being you are with is very important. She can give you a good life. Try to please her." Hold On! John shouted, I am not a zoo animal, I wanna go home!

[Damana]

Maria glared back at them. "Y'all go back to eating. You all know my stance on collars now leave us be." she snapped her eyes flashing causing most to quietly go back to their meals. Maria heard a voice from the back of the room and turned to glance at the woman that had spoken. Before nudging Jack with the end of her tail. "The lady in the gray shirt is speaking to you."

He looked up, yes mamm. How may I help you?
This Goddess in fish form, swam toward him. large with a potent sense of protectiveness. He couldn't believe it. Nature had given him a friend in this bassackwards world. He was also grateful for ms. marias kindness and nodded his thanks

Jack heard Maria, and nodded his head. "Yeah, I know. I'm gonna go speak to him." he told her. As they swam over to him, Jack began speaking to him. "S, you a human like me?" he asked him. He didn't expect to be speaking to a human here, yet here he was. This person was tall and red headed, and seemed to know a lot about Merfolk.

yes, try to keep ms maria and others happy. They are kinder than most. I have been here for four years, sometimes it seemes like a millon.
S moved back to his table, smiling gragiously at all around.
He eat quickly, as if sensing his presence sightly displeased.

He heard his answer, and was amazed that he was down here for four years. That is a long time. He saw him eating quickly, and wanted to gento know him. "The name's Jack. Yours?" he asked, extending his hand to him.

S. I have been given the task of orienting new humans. You truly are lucky. Ms Marie is something special. its not really bad, once you learn not to get too aggressive. The Mer's have a kind of paternal attitute here. We are their children

[Damana]

Maria smiled hearing S's voice ignoring his owner's glare and swam up giving him a hug. "How are you today dear?" she asked floating around him looking him over before something made her frown. S's owner soon found themselves on the business end of a hard slap with the end of her tail. "Did I not tell you to keep your hands off him. Humans bruise easier then we do." as Maria explained annoyedly the owner continue to be hit with her tail until she was done. Akin to a human getting a spanking on land.

"Well, I won't need an orientation S, I'm not here to stay. I'm here temporarily until someone finds me." he told him. Jack saw Maria hug S, and than hit his owner with her tail. He tried to contain his laughter, but couldn't hold back the chuckles. It was so darn funny! It kinda looked like Maria was kicking S's owner. H turned to S, and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you S." he said, and then he swam back to Maria's side.

maria was so good, s thought, She never treated him like property.
S swam confidently away, his owner and maria had business.
his owner looked up at him, at stared quite surprised at what human bodies even disabled ones could do.

"Alright ((Can't remember if the owner is male or female)) I'm here... what is you were wanting to discuss Gaberiel?" Maria asked her arms folded across her chest after giving them a good thrashing. She waited for them to speak.
