I don't know if I can answer your very good question with anything approaching dictionary precision. Rather, what springs to my mind is an example. When I was a teen in the late 50's and early 60's I always thought that Marilyn was "hot" in the way I'm using the word now.

I hope that doesn't date me too much and gives you some insight into my thinking.

No, that doesn't date you. There are many women and men that believe Marylin, and those of her generation, were and still are, hot. I have seen many photographs from the late 50s, early 60s, and I tend to believe that the women of that time were very desirable. Stick-figurines of today aren't what I'd call the ideal feminine figure.

I also believe that if you have it, FLAUNT it!! And you have it!!

In my humble opinion (IMHO),

Hot can and does result from a state of mind. Why only does a certain "look" be deemed hot? Hotness eminates from within. You can be hot prepping dinner, a certain smile or dmirk on your face, can make you hot.....
