Cool The Eagle and the Bear (closed for Elegant_Emotion)

Mornings were not Lord Ralnor's favorite time of the day. Every morning he woke up with the sun shining through the curtains it reminded him of Lady Shyael's death. It was an early morning, not a year past, when we was rudely awakened to be told of the terrible news: While Lady Shyael returned from Iria, her company and escort were ambushed by black raiders, the infamous outlaws of Menos Island.

The House of Tarron was devastated to learn that the attack happened while the lady's company approached the borders of Eroan, but were still on Tarron lands. Lord Iolas of Tarron felt responsible, even if all the men he sent to accompany Lady Shyael were also killed in the attack. "I should have sent more men!" Lord Iolas was known to be shouting repeatedly while he was alone in his solar. Upon discovering the atrocity, he sent his fastest riders to bring the bad news to Lord Ralnor.

The attack was vicious, as all their attacks have ever been. As usually with the black raiders, all the men in the company were targeted first, and killed one by one, arrows taking them out before they could react or take cover. All the women were captured - Lady Shyael and her servants - and subjected to hours of torturous sexual perversities before they were killed one by one. The raiders never left witnesses alive. It was known that the Black Raiders were a secret company, most likely made up of nobles and lordlings from Menos and beyond, who met from time to time to indulge their perverted appetites and prey on traveling companies. They never stole anything. They just tortured, raped and killed women and men. Each time they vanished without trace after the deed was done.

The Tarron investigator learned in horror that the lady had been last to be killed, probably being forced to watch her young female servants being raped and tortured before her eyes, before they took their turns with her. Lord Iolas wanted to spare Lord Ralnor of the details of the attack, but Ralnor insisted he be told every single detail, grinding his teeth with every detail he heard.

A year almost past since that day, but the memory was still fresh in Lord Ralnor's mind. He never spoke of it after the funeral. It was not allowed, even if investigations were ongoing on Menos to find and prosecute the Black Raiders. Alas, they had evaded discovery for almost a century.

Lord Ralnor got out of bed and walked to the terrace, taking in the morning sea breeze. He was a tall man, still in his prime at only 45 years of age. A seasoned seaman and fierce warrior, he had made many enemies in the battles he fought and won in the past.

The sun's rise was barely heralded by a red glow in the east, but Cerdwin was already awake. She had been sleeping less and less this past year, and what rest she could find was fitful and plagued with nightmares.

She had set aside her fine dresses, as she had most mornings since her mother's death, opting instead for a loose cloth tunic and leather breeches. She padded along on soft leather sandals, a cloth wrapped load across her back. Cerdwin had bound her pale golden hair back into a ponytail, and with her slim frame and narrow hips her handmaid had complained Cerdwin would be mistook for a young boy.

She ignored such warnings however, and simply sped her walk to force the handmaid to run in her dress or fall behind. By the time they reached the small private yard adjacent to Cerdwin's side of the castle the sun had emerged from over the horizon, shafts of light piercing through the shadows like golden lances.

"Over there Elsa, on the tree." She directed, lowering to one knee and unslinging the bundle on her back. She pulled a long slender shaft from the cloth and unwound it's accompanying cord. The first time she had tried to string the bow she had nearly screamed in frustration and her back had ached for days, but in the past months her arms and stomach had grown hard and wiry. Last of all she withdrew a quiver full of arrows, taking each and shoving them point first into the soft earth.

Elsa had managed to hang a strip of cloth from the nearby tree, black cloth. Cerdwin had begun with a sheet of cloth big enough to wrap halfway round the tree, but with each new moon she had cut it down, and now it was as narrow as a man's shoulders. Her handmaid quickly fled away from the target as Cerdwin took the first arrow from the ground, delicate fingers guiding the arrow across the bow's shaft and string. The soft brush of feathers and the tense bite of bowstring was as familiar to her now as a sowing needle, though before her calluses had come in Cerdwin would often return to her chambers with bloody fingers.

Cerdwin's bright green eyes narrowed in focus and the bow thrummed as she released, the arrow flying only to sail past the tree and snap against the stone wall behind. Grimacing, Cerdwin notched the next arrow with grim determination. She had followed this ritual every morning for nine moons, imagining with every arrow that the strip of black cloth was one of the men who had taken her mother from her.

Elidyr

Lord Ralnor's son woke up in a cold sweat, startling the Inn keeper's daughter half to death. Ever since his mother's death he did not have any nights without nightmares.

"My lord, are you alright? I think you had a nightmare..." the young woman asked him as she sat up along with him, her long red hair covering one of her beautiful full breasts.

Elidyr covered his face with his hands and groaned, her hand gently caressing and comforting his back.

"You should go... Your father will be looking for you!" Elidyr said softly, avoiding her question.

"Forget about my father! I'm here to comfort you!" she said with a sweet smile, leaning down to kiss his shoulder.

He turned to her and smiled, gazing in her deep green eyes. He fell back on the bed, looking at the ceiling. Her hand caressed his chest as she reclined on her elbow next to him.

"Your mother?..." she asked softly.

He looked at her, raising an eyebrow surprised by her directness.

"I'm sorry, my lord, I always say the wrong thing..." she apologised.

"No, it's alright. After all, fucking me gives you the right to be direct!" he said with a smile.

Her hand moved lower, smiling widely as she discovered his morning erection. She caressed his cock slowly.

"I would, of course, much rather talk about how you fucked me last night..." she said as she made him groan with her slow and lingering strokes.

He caressed her breast with the back of his fingers, smiling at her.

"Yes... a much better subject of conversation..." he agreed as his fingers travelled slowly over her hardening nipple.

"Besides... it would be inappropriate to speak of such matters while my hand is on your cock..." she mused.

Elidyr pushed the covers away and pulled her over him, making her giggle as she straddled him. She gently guided his cock inside her as she rode him slowly.

"I can't help you find the Black Raiders, but I can be your lover and comfort you..." she said as she moved slowly on top of him, making him groan in gratitude.

Cerdwin lowered her bow, the last arrow spent. The sun was rising over the castle yard's walls now and the cool morning breeze made her shiver when it hit the sweat on her skin. Kneeling down to unstring her bow she glanced back at her handmaid, "I can clean up here Elsa, go run a hot bath for me and lay out a dress, I will be joining my Lord Father for breakfast today." With a grunt she bent the bow down and pulled the taut string from the curved wood. Her handmaid hurried off as Cerdwin began gathering up her spent arrows.

She had just stepped around the tree to find one of the errant shafts when she heard voices.

"This is too important to wait." Said a man's voice, not one familiar to her.

"I understand that it's important. The whole damned keep'll understand it's important if you don't stop shouting." Responded a second man. This voice was gruff and deep, the voice of Harrol, Cerdwin realized, one of her father's guards. She knew that she should say something, but Cerdwin's curiosity was too hard to resist, so instead she slowly sank back closer to the tree, the trunk hiding her slim body as she strained her ears to listen.

"If the bastard is on his way here you're ports are where he'll more than likely land." The first voice continued, more quietly now. "Ralnor-"

"Lord Ralnor." Harrol corrected fiercely.

"Lord Ralnor, must allow my men into the city if we are to catch him." The first voice concluded, sounding exasperated.

Cerdwin frowned, trying to puzzle out the meaning of their words. The voices were quickly growing too faint to hear however, and she glanced quickly around the tree to see the two men walking away down the corridor. Stepping from behind the tree Cerdwin rested a hand on her hip and watched them go. It was certainly a curious situtation, and she resolved to ask father about it at breakfast.

After waiting a few minutes to make sure the two men were well ahead Cerdwin set out down the hallway, and was soon rounding the curving staircase towards her chambers. She arrived just as Elsa was pouring the last bucket of steaming hot water into her tub. "Thank you Elsa, I can handle the rest by myself." Cerdwin spoke, laying down her things and beginning to unlace the front of her jerkin. "Why don't you go bring some food to the guards in the north tower." She continued, grinning teasingly. Cerdwin knew Jakob would be on duty this morning, Elsa and the young guardsman had been sneaking off together for weeks now and the handmaid always entertained her with the details of their trysts.

Elsa blushed and hurried from the room giggling. Once she was alone Cerdwin stripped out of her leather jerkin and the cloth tunic underneath, dumping the clothes on the floor. Wriggling the tight leather breeches down her hips she had soon added them and her small clothes to the pile. Standing naked by the bath Cerdwin reached up and untied her braid last, letting her straight golden hair hang down to her shoulders. Glancing eagerly at the steaming water she stepped over the rim of the tub and slowly lowered herself in. The water was still a bit too hot but she didn't feel like waiting and as her waist and stomach passed below the water's surface she soon adjusted.

She stopped when the water had reached her neck, sliding her hands into the water and tilting her head back to rest it. Closing her eyes she sighed languidly, letting the warm bath draw the tension from her sore muscles. After a few minutes of drifting her mind began to wander on its own. Unbidden Cerdwin found herself thinking of Elsa and the guard. Such a romance was obviously too base for a noble like Cerdwin yet still...

One of Cerdwin's hands slowly drifted to her stomach, delicate fingers tracing slowly down across her navel. She shivered as the wicked digits wandered lower between her thighs, reveling in the vulnerable pleasure. She bit her lip as her fingers found her burning core, brow furrowing as her fingers began to work vigorously. Soon her other hand gripped the edge of the tub, knuckles white, and her mouth opening in silent gasps. Cerdwin lost control so suddenly that she moaned aloud, back arching for several moments before she slowly collapsed limply back into the water.

Hours later Cerdwin was just lacing up her dress, her body clean and dry, when Elsa knocked on the door and peaked in. "Food is prepared if you are ready to break your fast Lady Cerdwin." The girl glanced about conspiratorially before grinning, "I also have quite a story for you afterwards."

Ralnor

Lord Ralnor was thankful at least that Lady Shyael had traveled to Iria with only two of the young girls in her entourage. The lady had four girls in her service at all times, daughters of lordlings and landowners from Lord Ralnor's territories. Families were always weary of having their beautiful young daughters summoned to Nendos to serve the lady, mostly because it was known that Elidyr, the son of Lord Ralnor, was not to be trusted around pretty young girls. There were also rumors of Lord Ralnor himself taking a keen interest in them, and some even suggested the girls occasionally participated in Ralnor's and Shyael's torrid sexual adventures.

The two girls who died in the attack were daughters of very loyal nobles to House Eroan, on whom Ralnor depended not only in battle, but also in maintaining peace in his territories. Lord Ralnor had two young nobles lined up to marry the two girls, when disaster struck. The two girls who had escaped the attack were daughters of two landowners in the north, both whom Lord Ralnor suspected of treachery on numerous occasions. They were under no doubt that their daughters had been summoned to Nendos to keep them in check and insure their loyalty.

Lord Ralnor suspected the two nobles and had sent Elidyr to investigate immediately after he heard the news, but he came home with no evidence that the two had been involved in any way. One of them even sent his own wife to Elidyr's chambers to prove his loyalty. After dinner, Elidyr retired to his chambers to find the noble's beautiful wife naked in his bed. She did her utmost to convince the young lord that her family would never risk the safety of their daughter by betraying Lord Ralnor.

Elidyr's findings did not convince Lord Ralnor entirely, thus he decided to keep the two girls in his service, transferring them to Cerdwin's service. One of the two girls, Elsa, gained much favor with Ralnor because of her loyal service to lady Shyael, despite his suspicions towards her father. After the funeral, Lord Ralnor allowed her to return home for a whole month, which was most unusual.

The other girl, Elinor, was another story altogether. She was a slippery devil of a girl, always up to mischief, flirting with everyone, and weaving all kinds of stories which she loved to tell to those who would shower her with gifts and attentions. Her long blonde curls were often the only feature disguising the deep cleavage of her dresses. Few knew however that she was Lord Ralnor's personal sex toy, which is why she was off limits for Elidyr, much to his chagrin.

Lord Ralnor made his way slowly to the dining room, where food was already prepared. Elinor was the only one in the room when he arrived. She smiled widely and bowed, offering a full view of her cleavage.

"Good morning, Elinor!" Lord Ralnor greeted her with a smile. "Where is my daughter?" he asked as he took his seat at the head of the table.

"Good morning, milord! I am told she is on her way!" the girl responded with a short bow, remaining standing.

She looked around and then walked towards Lord Ralnor's seat, and leaned forward to whisper:

"Shall I come tonight, milord?"

He looked up at her, his eyes drifting to her half exposed breasts, and then back up to her eyes. He extended his hand and softly caressed the exposed skin of her breast.

"Yes. And bring the whip this time!" he said with a serious grimace, making her smile widely as she stood straight, seconds before the door opened and Cerdwin walked in with Elsa.

Cerdwin stepped through the doorway into the dining room, Elsa close on her heels. Dressed now in a simple dress the color of cream, with a deep v-cut on the back and a high conservative front it was in many ways the opposite of Elinor's. As soon as she spotted the curly haired blonde her face twitched into a scowl, though it was quickly masked again by a pleasant if somewhat forced smile. Cerdwin did not like this Elinor, whenever the girl smiled Cerdwin couldn't shake the feeling that she was somehow laughing at her. Besides that Cerdwin had seen the way Elinor gazed at her Lord Father, she clearly had some scandelous designs on him. Still, Cerdwin couldn't help but pity the girl in that respect, her father had no interest in other women since her mother's death.

Turning to her father Cerdwin curtsied elegantly before walking over and bending over to plant a kiss on her father's rough cheek. "Father! I am so glad you could join me this morning." She glanced around frowning, "Will Elidyr be joining us?" She asked as she Elsa pulled out her chair and Cerdwin took a seat. She reached immediately for one of the dates, always her favorite treat, and popped it into her mouth, chewing and staring at Lord Ralnor with a contemplative look. Swallowing the fruit she sipped on some tea, an odd spicy blend bought at great expense from foreign merchants at the docks, before continuing. "Father, I was in the garden this morning and I saw Harrol talking with a strange man. He seemed to be quite eager to speak with you..." Her tone trailed off, clearly trying to draw any information she could from him.

Lord Ralnor smiled at Cerdwin as she stepped inside, watching her as she took her seat and listening to her questions, smiling at her while eating his eggs. He looked up at Elinor, and noticed how she straightened up when Cerdwin came in, the tension between them clearly visible.

"No, my dear, Elidyr will not be joining us. I sent him up north to follow a lead in the investigation!" he answered, aware that Elinor gasped when he mentioned where he had gone.

He turned to Elinor with a stern look, to which she immediately lowered her gaze. Ralnor cleared his throat and then turned back to face Cerdwin.

"A strange man, you say... Hm... Nendos is full of strange men! You should be careful when you venture into unprotected corners of the keep and listen in on what strange men speak! Strange men can have strange appetites!" he said giving Cerdwin a stern look. "I'm sure Harrol will take care of it!" he continued, focusing back on his food.

Elinor smiled wickedly, but then quickly wiped it out before Ralnor could even spot it.

Cerdwin lowered her cup slowly, brow furrowing as she stared daggers at her father. The two handmaids quickly found interesting things to examine on the floor and ceiling, everyone in the keep was well aware of what that look meant.

"You sent Elidyr north again?" Her tone was icy, sounding so much like her mother when she was annoyed that it was startling. "That is very odd father. Since unless the raiders have started hiding between the legs of tavern wenches and millers' wives he'll no doubt come back with as little as last time." Cerdwin knew exactly what her father was scheming at, with Elidyr gone it would fall on Cerdwin to receive the visitors from Iria soon arriving.

She stood, shoving her chair back too quickly for Elsa to step over and help her rise, "I told you I intended to accompany the next search myself." She deftly stepped around her waiting handmaid, smoothing out her dress, "But since smiling for our guests from House Tarron is more important than finding those butchers, I suppose I'll focus on the vital task of arranging tables! Cerdwin whirled around, the hem of her dress swirling around her feet, and walked angrily for the door, her appetite fled and Elsa fast on her heels.

"Cerdwin!!" Lord Ralnor said with a voice louder than usual, but still without shouting. He clearly held his daughter in very high affections, but was a bottom-line kind of father.

Elinor stood as well, watching Cerdwin as she almost reached the door, stopped by her father's call.

"Look at me! We talked about your desire to find those monsters and your silly bow and arrows games in the garden! These men are not just rapists. They are murderers and torturers. I will NOT have my daughter exposed to that!" he said, raising his voice a little louder towards the end.

He then took a deep breath and sighed, looking for a softer tone as he looked towards her.

"You should give more credit to your brother! Yes, he is famous for his ways with women, but so is he with the sword and his sharp mind. He already has leads!" he said and then he stood from his place.

He walked over to her and placed his hands on her arms, squeezing gently as he looked in her eyes, smiling warmly.

"Besides, your duty is here with me. And I don't want you setting tables! I want you to get ready and represent the pride of our house. The dignity and honor of house Qildor depends very much on you! The dragon is not yet dead!" he said to her and leaned in to give her a kiss on her cheek.

"Our guests are coming, and I am told the message from Lord Iolas is going to be delivered by his son, Faelyn. You never met him, but I have! I believe you will discover it was worth the wait!" he said with a grin in the corner of his mouth.

Elidyr

Elidyr's fingers were tangled in the innkeeper's daughter's hair as he fucked her hard from behind. She made no efforts to hide her arousal, moaning and shrieking as he pounded her almost angrily, her body moving back and forth on the bed. While they were in the middle of their passion, the door burst open and Khalid, one of Elidyr's friends walked inside, closing the door behind him. Elidyr did not even acknowledge his presence at first, continuing to fuck the girl steadily. She turned to look at the young man standing next to the bed, but Elidyr turned her head away, ramming into her with longer, slower strokes.

"What is it?" Elidyr asked him after a few seconds, while still focusing on her.

"I found this in her room!" Khalid said angrily as he came closer showing Elidyr a necklace with a silver chain and an exquisitely detailed medallion dangling.

Elidyr looked closer as he slowed down, admiring the mockingbird carving on the medallion.

"And?" Elidyr asked. "Is that reason enough to disturb me?"

"I think so! I found it in her jewelry box!" Khalid said, clearly struggling to contain his anger.

"I got that! It's her necklace. What of it?" Elidyr asked, beginning to lose his patience.

"Is it yours?" Khalid asked the girl, dangling the necklace in front of her face.

"Yes, it is!" she said, gasping as Elidyr pushed inside her roughly.

"And what were you doing in her room?" Elidyr asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Fucking her sister, of course!" Khalid answered swiftly. "Where did you get this?" he asked the girl as he turned to her again.

"My... my brother gave it... fuck... gave it to me...!" she struggled to respond as Elidyr picked up pace.

"Get to it, Khalid!"

"I know this necklace. It belonged to Meriel!" Khalid almost shouted, prompting Elidyr to stop suddenly.

He pulled out of her and pushed her on the bed, looking at Khalid as the blood drained from his face.

"What??" Elidyr shouted and picked up the necklace, taking a closer look. "How do you know that??"

"I know, because I made it for her!" Khalid said turning to the girl with unconstrained hate written all over his face.

The girl cowered away from them on the bed, bringing her knees up to her chest, looking terrified and confused.

"I... I don't understand..." she muttered.

"Meriel was his betrothed!" Elidyr said with a heavy sigh. "She was killed along with my mother and another girl by the Black Raiders!"

"Noooo!" the girls shrieked when she finally realized what was going on. "My brother... he wouldn't..."

"Wouldn't he? He made his dislike of Elidyr all too clear when we were here two years ago!" Khalid reminded her.

"Of course he did... what brother would like a man who fucks his sister and uses her like a whore?" the girl asked angrily.

Elidyr sighed.

"Where is he?" he asked.

"He disappeared last night after we arrived!" Khalid replied.

"Find him and bring him to me!" Elidyr said and handed Khalid the necklace.

"I figure he's long gone!" Khalid replied as he took the necklace.

"Ask his father. If he doesn't know, tell him we are taking both his daughters to Nendos until he delivers his son to us! If he fails to deliver him by the end of the month, his daughters will be executed, and we'll send him their heads!" Elidyr said with a steady anger in his voice, as he raised his eyes to look at the girl, his face black with anger.

Khalid bowed and left the room, closing the door behind him. As soon as the door closed, the girl began to sob uncontrollably, falling face down on the bed.

Cerdwin froze mid step as her father raised his voice. She slowly turned toward him, though she couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes. She knew she had gone too far in her flash of anger, but the feeling had faded quickly enough when Lord Ralnor spoke.

As he approached she crossed her arms, looking out one of the room's open windows as he placed his hands on her arms. She was biting her lip, eyes watery, and where a moment before she had seemed like her mother she now looked like the small child she had once been.

At the mention of Faelyn Cerdwin finally looked at her father, though only to roll her eyes. She laughed softly, though the sound was still husky and choked, and reached up to place a hand on Lord Ralnor's cheek. "I am sure he is very gallant father, I shall try not to hit him with my silly arrows." Her tone was teasing but apologetic. Lord Ralnor took his hands from Cerdwin's arms and she pulled his head down to kiss him gently on the forehead before turning and strolling away towards her chambers, Elsa following.

Halfway back to her chambers Cerdwin paused, turning to Elsa. "I have a sneaking suspicion that Father is up to something Elsa." She said, her hands on her hips.

"Up to something my lady?" Elsa asked, looking confused.

Cerdwin gave her a bemused smile, "House Tarron would not send its' only son to deliver a message. I think father is hunting for bear, and I am to be the bait." Her gaze shifted to the sun rising over the water in the bay beyond, the reflected light streaming through the hallway's windows like golden swords. Suddenly a wicked grin slid its' way across Cerdwin's face as she turned back to Elsa. "Elsa, I want you to make sure Elinor is assigned to Faelyn's service. We shall see the young bear's colors soon enough." Elsa stared back at her strangely for a moment before comprehension dawned in her eyes and she giggled. With their plans made the two girls set off to make preparations for the feast.

Shaelya slowly stroked the bare chest of the man seated next to her, her dusky skin glowing in the candle light of the ship's cabin.

Before them stood one of her lord's tattooed men, like all the others he had the hard look of a man for whom violence was an old friend. "We are three days from the port." The man reported in a thick gravelly voice. "If all goes as planned we shall be through the city and in the countryside without the dragon knowing a thing."

The man next to her reached around Shaelya's shoulders to snatch a peach from the table beside their bed. "Things never go as planned." The man responded before taking a bite from the fruit, chewing thoughtfully as a drop of juice ran down his chin. Taking another bite he waved the man away.

As the door closed Shaelya' slid from the man's arms to kneel before him, resting her chin on his knee. "Mmmm. Tell me my lord, how does this cause of yours taste, now that the hour is so near?" Her voice was thick with the exotic accent of her homeland, and she slowly slid her hands up the man's thighs, deftly unlacing his leather pants and slipping her long fingers within.

The man grunted, swallowing the fruit in his mouth and tossing the core away. "It is a great cause." He responded as Shaelya drew him rock hard from his pants, slowly sliding her lips around the swollen head. His face twitched but remained impassive, "But all great causes come down to the same thing."

He reached out and ran his fingers over a sword hilt sticking out from their scattered bedcovers. His hips bucked and he grunted, causing Shaelya's eyes to glint devilishly, she knew how to finish him swiftly when she had a mind to. His hand tightened around the sword's pommel as Shaelya felt him spasm in her mouth, sliding her lips and tongue down his entire length as he released his seed.

The Bastard placed a hand on Shaelya's head and slowly pushed her back so he could look her in the eyes. "There will be pain, and tears, and blood."

Shaelya

Elidyr

Elidyr's breakfast was rushed unlike any other morning. He usually enjoyed taking his time in the morning, but this time he was both delighted he finally found a lead on his mother's murderers, but also horrified that the suspect was the brother of a woman he considered to be his lover for the past two years. He was eating alone this time, which was also very unusual. The Innkeeper served him quietly, avoiding any eye-contact. He was a mild mannered man, with a soft touch and few words.

"M-my lord!" the innkeeper said softly as Elidyr was about to stand from the table. "I beg you to listen to an old man's plea!"

Elidyr sat back and nodded, looking up at him. He liked the old man, and he was often careful to not be overt about his sexual relationship with his daughter.

"M-my son... I beg you to consider if... perhaps... he may have bought the necklace from some merchant... My son is an angry young man, but he would never associate with rapists and murderers. His own mother was raped and murdered by bandits!"

Elidyr considered his words quietly.

"I beg you to give him a chance to explain himself!" the man continued.

"Very well. I will consider his possible innocence!" Elidyr began. "But I need a guarantee that he will not flee, which is why I'm taking your daughters to Nendos. You have my word that they will be taken care of, and both will be assigned to my sister's service, an honor usually given to girls of much higher standing than yours!"

"Thank you, young lord!" the mad said bowing deeply.

"Your son will have to present himself directly to me before the month is done! I need to speak to him, and find out where he got the necklace. I want the murderers to pay, but I don't want some innocent man to pay for what others have done! I want the real culprits to be brought to justice! I will be just and fair with you son, even if he was less than kind to me!" Elidyr said as he stood from the table.

"Thank you, thank you so much! I will find him myself and bring him to Nendos, where he will apologize for his insolence towards you!" the innkeeper said, bowing constantly.

"He wasn't insolent!" Elidyr said reassuringly, placing a hand on the man's shoulder. "If anyone fucked... slept with my sister I would be much more than insolent! He did what brothers do. Hopefully he did not go as far as to kill my mother for it! I just want him to help us find the murderers if he's innocent!"

"Yes, my lord, I understand. And... I know about you and my daughter. I hold no grudges against you... Elanil is always excited when you come, and suffers greatly when you are absent!" the man said softly.

Elidyr smiled at that and tapped him on his shoulder before walking out of the Inn. His two best friends and the six men in his guard were already on horseback, along with the two daughters of the innkeeper, their hands tied with thick rope.

"What is this??" Elidyr shouted at his men. "These girls are not criminals!" he added and pulled out his dagger, cutting the rope and freeing their hands. "They are both to be treated with the respect and honor they deserve as ladies in my sister's company!" he said to his men, who looked at him in great surprise.

Khalid was almost ready to protest, but Elidyr's severe gaze stopped him in his tracks. Elidyr walked to Elanil's and her sister's horse and lead them towards his own. He mounted his horse and signaled his men to start off, leaving him and the two sisters behind a few hundred yards.

"Go say goodbye to your father!" Elidyr said to the girls. "I am taking you to Nendos to serve my sister!"

The girls looked at him in surprise, but both dismounted immediately and hugged their father, who asked them to serve Lady Cerdwin faithfully and never to disobey Lord Elidyr or his father. The girls made promises and then mounted again, flanking Elidyr as they started off towards Nendos.

"What is your name?" Elidry asked Elanil's sister.

"Sarya!" she answered bluntly, adding no other words.

"Sarya, MY LORD!" Elanil corrected her.

"I'm not the one who fucked him like a whore in heat!" Sarya retorted swiftly, gritting her teeth.

Elidyr laughed at the exchange, placing his hand over Elanil's to reassure her it was alright, and trying to prevent an escalation of the clear conflict between the two sisters. Elanil couldn't resist the temptation.

"You fucked Khaled! Do you call him Lord for that?" she hissed.

"Ladies, ladies, there is no need for that!" Elidyr intervened again, highly amused by the exchange.

"Maybe you should fuck her to teach her some manners!" Elanil told Elidyr.

"Ladies, please! I don't want my sister to hear you talking like this to each other! And I'm not going to fuck your sister, Elanil! I'm sure she will know how to behave when it counts!" he said as he turned to Sarya, meeting her gaze for a few moments before she looked away.

They traveled for a few good minutes in silence, before Elanil broke it.

"My brother didn't do it!" she said suddenly.

"He will have a chance to exonerate himself, and help us find whoever did do it!" Elidyr assured her, caressing her hands, and drawing a smile from her.

"What if we can't find him? Will you still execute us?" she asked with a frown.

Elidyr stopped his horse and hers, and then pulled her towards him, kissing her deeply.

"I think he likes his whores with heads attached!" Sarya said with a grin as she stopped her horse to look at them kissing.

"Watch your mouth, you little slut!" Elanil shouted at her. "Please, Elidyr, teach my sister a lesson. When we arrive in Nendos, let me strip and flog her for your pleasure!" she pleaded with a grin, making Elidyr smile.

"I can't say not to that, can I?" Elidyr grinned as he looked at Sarya, who rolled her eyes and nudged her horse forward.

The sun was high overhead, just beginning its' descent, when the party from Iria was spotted in the distance. Cerdwin stood on the high walls of the keep, Elsa at her side, and watched the men on horseback as they approached.

"So many men!" Elsa noted, shielding her eyes from the sun's glare and squinting at the group.

Cerdwin nodded, she'd lost count at around twenty and the whole retinue seemed at least twice that size. "The road to Nendos from Iria is dangerous Elsa. I'm sure they didn't want their young lord harmed by Raiders." Her voice contained a bitter edge, she had blamed house Tarron for months after her mother's death, and while most of that emotion had faded she still felt a nagging grudge toward the people who had last seen Lady Shyael alive.

Cerdwin and Elsa had laid out the evening's gown, but for now Cerdwin wore a simple white dress. The thin fabric did little to shield her from the winds high on the wall, but she found herself too entranced watching the approaching men to care.

"House Tarron is a very old and noble family, I'm sure Faelyn will be very handsome." Elsa offered, noticing Cerdwin's distracted gaze.

"Hmph." Cerdwin snorted, "Bears are big, hairy and love to sleep. I see no reason these shall be any different," she retorted. Before her mother's death Cerdwin's parents would often talk of potential matches for their daughter, but in the year since the attack Lord Ralnor had largely let the matter drop. Cerdwin worried that the arrival of Faelyn Tarron might signify that Father's efforts were rekindling.

There was a strange emerald glint from one of the lead riders and Elsa suddenly gripped Cerdwin's arm excitedly, pointing towards the figure. "Did you see that Lady Cerdwin? Green armor! That must be Sir Redford Greenwall!" Cerdwin squinted but couldn't make anything out about the rider, still Elsa probably had the truth of it. Redford Greenwall was one of the most famous knights on Menos, and though he was even older than her father it was said few men could best him in tournies or in the field. Cerdwin tapped her fingers on the rough stone parapets, "If it is indeed Sir Greenwall my Lord Father will surely be interested to know. Come Elsa, let us see if about the keep." Cerdwin turned from the wall, though her head craned to take one last look at the riders, before setting off towards the nearby tower to descend into her chambers.

Ralnor

Lord Ralnor emerged from his bath just as the sun was at its peak. He stepped out of the tub still dripping wet and walked out to the terrace, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his wet skin. His muscular body appeared even more toned and powerful as the rays of the sun bounced off the water droplets trailing off his body.

"Milord!" Elinor's voice was heard from behind him as he looked out towards the open sea.

As he turned, she covered her mouth in admiration. She walked towards him with a wicked smile on her face. She walked slowly, unlacing her dress as he watched her with a small smile in the corner of his mouth. When she reached him, her dress fell on the ground, leaving her naked before him. Her fingers reached for his growing erection, stroking slowly as she looked up at him and caressed his strong chest.

"You couldn't wait until tonight, could you?" Ralnor asked her, feeling his cock growing in her hand.

"Oh, milord, you know me... I barely made it through breakfast without my favorite morning treat!" she said to him and lowered herself on her knees.

She ran her tongue on his twitching cock, smiling as she saw it grow before her eyes.

"What would you mother say if she knew what you were doing in Nendos?" Ralnor asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.

"My mother fucked your son like a whore! She is not one to give me advice on morals!" she said as she looked up, her tongue licking his whole length slowly.

Ralnor laughed at her reply, moaning deeply as she took his cock in her mouth, sucking him steadily. He had no more questions, his fingers running through her blonde hair, encouraging her to take him deeper.

After while, he began to feel the sun burning his skin, so he took her inside his chambers. She held on to the large bed post as he pushed inside her from behind, grunting deeply.

"Yes, milord, fuck me... fuck me deep and hard..." she urged him, moaning and shrieking with each thrust.

As he fucked her hard, he had flashbacks of him sharing Elinor with Shyael just months before she died. One evening he returned from a hunt to find his wife dressed in the most transparent gown she had, with Elinor tied up naked between the bed posts, her large breasts heaving as she looked at him. He remembered how Shyael walked towards him and handed him a soft leather flogger and said to him "My daughter's serving girl was very naughty. Can you help me teach her a lesson?" He remembered how he flogged her over her tummy, her breasts, her pussy, before they both sucked him off. That memory threw him over the edge and he pulled out just in time, shooting his seed over Elinor's back with a loud groan.

The door opened seconds later and Ralnor's servant walked inside, seemingly ignoring Elinor's naked body as it collapsed on the bed.

"The Tarron delegation is approaching, milord!" the young man said.

"Very well! Tell my daughter to get ready and to wait for me at the gates. And tell her to be presentable!" Ralnor said to him and dismissed him.

The servant bowed and left. Elinor pushed her body off the bed and looked at him.

"You think she will like him?" she asked.

"Faelyn is a very handsome young man! I am more concerned HE will not like her!" he replied.

"Handsome??" Elinor asked with a wicked smile.

"Keep your little slutty hands to yourself! He is off limits to you, understood?" Ralnor told her as he began to get dressed.

"Your lordship's cock is more than I need or want! I am all yours!" she defended herself.

"Aye, so you are!" Ralnor said with a frown.

Cerdwin had just returned to her chambers alone, having sent Elsa away to prepare for the feast. She had gone to her father's chambers but had been told he was bathing and chose not to disturb his repose.

She padded through the room silent save for the sounds of sea and wind, the constant companions of Nendos. She approached her mirror, a massive thing that had sat in the chambers since she was an infant. It was an extravagant piece of art, it's frame carved into the shape of a winding serpentine dragon, its' claws grasping the mirrors' four corners.

Cerdwin gazed at her own reflection thoughtfully. She seldom concerned herself with her looks besides the necessities of representing her house. Yet something about the approaching feast had birthed silly concerns in her mind.

She regarded her own face, she had the dark grim eyes of her father, prone to brooding looks. But in nearly all else she resembled Lady Shyael. Men and women said that Cerdwin was beautiful, but then she supposed people always said such things of their lords and ladies, and she gave it little regard. Yet when some of the keep's older residents, the ones who had known her mother when she was young, called Cerdwin the image of Shyael she did indeed feel a swell of pride.

While imagining how she might look to the visitors Cerdwin chewed her lip, then almost smiled in shock at how distracted and annoyed the face looking back at her looked. "That is no way for a lady to look!". She declared in a mocking imitation of her old nurse. Taking a deep breath she gave the mirror her brightest smile, tilting her head as if she was listening to the most interesting story she had ever heard. "Why Lord Faelyn what an interesting story!" She declared in as sweet a voice as she could muster. The smile quickly melted into a pout. Cerdwin feared that this would be more difficult than she had thought.

Looking down Cerdwin slowly opened a small wooden box on the table beneath. Inside was a small fortune in jewelry: necklaces, rings, brooches and pins. The sparkled with rare gems set in gold or silver. She rarely wore most of them, but she was sure her Father was expecting Cerdwin to make every effort to impress their guests. She sifted idley through the box, nothing catching her attention, until a flash of silver drew her eye. Slowly extracting the necklace from the bottom of the box Cerdwin held it dangling before her, a pain clutching her heart. It was a simple piece of delicate silver chain, hanging from it was a tiny dove, carved from pure white sea-stone. It had been her mother's, Shaeyl had always loved birds.

Cerdwin slid the chain around her neck, just letting the dove settle on her collarbone when their was a knock at her door. It was one of her father's servants, delivering his message. With sigh Cerdwin closed the box and drew a silky green shawl about her shoulders, it added some slight elegance to her plain white dress, and would give her some protection from the breeze. Elsa had advised her to dress simply at the guests' arrival, so as to make her feasting gown seem even more astounding.

Hurrying down the stone steps Cerdwin soon saw her father waiting near the yard, servants and men at arms rushing about in last minute preparation. With a smile she slowed to a more dignified walk and stepped up next to Lord Ralnor, though she barely stood at the height of his shoulders, and slipped her arm through his to accompany him outside. A moment later the gates began to rise and someone blew a series of short sharp notes through a horn. The first rider through was a young page wielding a massive banner bearing the crouching bear of house Tarron. The man reared his horse to a stop and motioned behind him. "Lord Faelyn Tarron! Heir to the lands of Iria! And Sir Redford Greenwall, Hero of the Drawbridge!" He declared in a crisp voice, the two men cantering into the yard on their horses. Despite her efforts to remain relaxed Cerdwin gripped her father's arm tightly.

Lord Ralnor smiled widely as he felt his daughters arm clutching his as they awaited the arrival of the guests. He also smiled because he was impressed she was on time. He looked down at her for a few seconds, aware of how beautiful she looked despite the simple dress. It made her look like a fairy. His eyes, were drawn to the crouching bear banner.

The two guests jumped off their horses with amazing dexterity given their size and heavy armor adorned with the crimson cloak of house Tarron. Faelyn was tall and broad-shouldered, his brown eyes and long hair softening his dominating figure. As soon as he dismounted, his gaze moved to Cerdwin. He smiled at her and then turned to Ralnor. He walked towards him and stopped a few feet away, bowing to him.

"My lord!" Faelyn said with a surprisingly gallant accent for a northern lord. "I am delighted to find you in good health!"

"Lord Faelyn! I am so glad you made it safely to Nendos! Welcome!" Lord Ralnor said as he stepped forward to greet him, shaking his hand warmly.

He then turned to Cerdwin.

"Lord Faelyn, let me present to you my only daughter and first born, the apple of my eye, lady Cerdwin!" he said, walking back to Cerdwin and taking her hand, leading her gently forward to Faelyn.

Faelyn smiled warmly at Cerdwin, his eyes sparkling as he bowed to her.

"Milady! The songs fall short of extolling your beauty!" he said and took her hand from Lord Ralnor, kissing it gallantly, making Ralnor smile from ear to ear.

"Please, Cerdwin, lead our guest to my solar. You must be parched after such a long journey in this heat!" Lord Ralnor intervened as he stepped back.

He walked towards Sir Redford Greenwall and shook his hand as Cerdwin and Faelyn moved inside the keep, followed closely by two mysterious young men armed with unusually curved swords strapped to their backs. They both looked as dangerous as they were handsome.

"Who are these men?" lord Ralnor asked Sir Redford.

"Oh, Lord Faelyn will tell you all about it. That one is Conall, and the one with the tattoo on his face is Orym. They are the fiercest fighters in Iria!" Sir Redford replied as he walked alongside Ralnor towards his solar.

"Really? They don't look Irian at all!" Ralnor said shaking his head.

"They came to Iria when they were but teenagers. They are from Neosari!" Redford said proudly.

"What?? Neosarian? Were they not supposed to be in the King's service alone?" Ralnor asked in surprise.

"They were. Four of them were gifted to Lord Iolas by the King himself!"

Faelyn

Conall

Orym

Cerdwin watched the men, doing her best to hide her thoughts behind a mask of civility. Unbidden, she couldn't help but notice Lord Faelyn was indeed handsome, though she thought all the armor seemed an unnecessary show.

When the young lord bowed she curtsied in return, allowing him to kiss her hand with barely a hint of hesitation. She smiled at his flattery, though more from amusement. Cerdwin doubted any barfs had written songs about her, likely they just sang a different noble lady's name in every tavern in hopes of earning some coin from a few of her vassals.

"Of course father. It would be my pleasure. Lord Faelyn.". She nodded, turning and allowing him to walk by her side into the keep. Her eyes darted to the two men who followed with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

As they stepped through the stone archway into the keep she motioned formally with one hand. "The solar is this way Lord Faelyn. If uh...." She paused, trying to discern where in the Lord's household the other two men stood. Their manner was much like her father's men-at-arms, but their dress was strange. "If your companions desire some refreshment as well I am sure something appropriate can be provided." She finally settled on something neutral, hoping his reaction would clarify their status.

Faelyn turned to the Conall and Orym when Cerdwin mentioned refreshments could be provided for them, and smiled at them.

"I'm sure we will all appreciate some refreshments, lary Cerdwin. Your lands are not as wet as ours, and the son shines brighter in Nendos!" he said to her gallantly as he allowed her to lead him to the solar followed closely by the two men, and then Lord Iolas and Redford.

As they walked in Lord Iolas' solar, the servants were very quick to pour cold drinks and serve all the guests. Faelyn took a good drink and then turned to Cerdwin.

"I heard the solar has a most glorious view of the harbour from the terrace. Could you show it to me?" he asked and then followed her through the door to the terrace, signalling the two men to remain behind in the solar.

Faelyn looked out to the harbour with a big smile on his face.

"Beautiful!" he said, looking out at sea over the harbour.

After a few seconds of silence, Faelyn spoke to Cerdwin, while still looking out at sea.

"Milady, there are no words to express the sorrow I felt when we heard of your mother's death... To learn that she was murdered while still on our lands was... more than I and my father could bare!..." he said and then he turned to her, looking in her eyes.

"I know I cannot bring your mother back to you... But I have sworn an oath to at least find those responsible and bring them to justice! I know this would bring little consolation, but I have sworn so to do..." he said hardly containing his emotions, holding her gaze softly.

Cerdwin glanced at Faelyn, raising an eyebrow, "The terrace? I am impressed you have heard of it Lord Faelyn." She smiled, the terrace was a very famous feature of the keep, but Cerdwin had been taught that being impressed was a vital part of a woman's courtesy. Leading him towards the small door that opened onto the terrace she glanced back at her father and the others, some of the subtle tension drained away as she watched the two strange guards detaching themselves from Faelyn and herself.

Her hands pressed against the smooth familiar wood of the door, fingers tracing the same grooves in the dark material that they had felt a hundred times before. As the door opened sunlight burst through the portal, nearly blinding for a moment. As her eyes adjusted and she stepped out onto the warm stone outside the view of the harbor slowly came into focus. It was a beautiful day for viewing, the sun was high above and the sky was clear save for a few bright clouds lazily drifting along. The water below sparkled in the sunlight, and dozens of ships ranging from tiny fishing boats to large traders could be seen crawling along their courses.

The terrace itself wrapped around the face of the tower where Ralnor's solar was located, though there was only the one door leading out to it. Cerdwin walked past a small wooden table and chairs where her father would sometimes break his fast and approached the stone railing at the edges of the terrace. The stone was burning hot under her hands as she stood and looked out over the bay. For a few precious moments Cerdwin allowed the warm wind to wash over her face, closing her eyes and breathing in the salty smell of the sea.

She emerged from her revery as Faelyn joined her. Cerdwin hummed her agreement and the two stood in silence for a few moments.

Were an artist to paint Cerdwin both before and after Faelyn's next words the images might be identical. However to anyone present it was obvious how drastic the change in her was. It seemed as if all the warmth and color drained from her face, where before she appeared to be leaning restfully against the stone railing now it looked as if she was using it for support and while the polite expression on her face remained it was now like an empty mask.

Cerdwin met his gaze when Faelyn looked at her, lips tight and something close to fury blazing in her eyes. Cerwin's knuckles were white as she squeezed the rough stone and she stared unwavering back at the man whose gaze caused many to wilt beneath its' intensity.

The hard edge in her eyes seemed to soften as Faelyn continued however, Cerdwin finding herself unable to deny the emotion in his voice. When he was finished she found herself feeling more uncomfortable with the rawness of the situation, and finally broke the stare to look back over the bay. "That is very...noble of you to say Lord Faelyn." Her voice was hoarse with pain, and she cleared her throat politely. "But we are House Eroan," she continued, turning back to fix her own steely gaze on the lord. "And a Dragon can hunt just as well as a bear." Her voice was a swirling mixture of pride and wrath.

Cerdwin continued to stare at him, emotions raw and oppen on her face, for a few more seconds before the moment seemed to pass. As smoothly and quickly as the shifting of the wind her mask of courtesy returned. Before he could say more on the subject Cerdwin turned and leaned back against the railing, wrists demurely crossed over her stomach. "I know very little of the north Lord Faelyn, perhaps you could enlighten me of how your lands fare these days?"

Faelyn fully expected Cerdwin to respond proudly to his words:

"That is very...noble of you to say Lord Faelyn. But we are House Eroan, and a Dragon can hunt just as well as a bear."

Faelyn noticed her steely eyes and seething anger, and quietly nodded, almost physically backing away to give her space and respect her turf. He received her angry gaze, taking it in with as much grace as he could, especially since he was there to convey his remorse over what had happened to Lady Shyael.

As quickly as she reacted, she changed her demure and changed the subject, drawing a smile of surprise from Faelyn.

"I know very little of the north Lord Faelyn, perhaps you could enlighten me of how your lands fare these days?"

Faelyn turned to her almost copying her stance entirely.

"That's very kind of you to ask, Lady Cerdwin!" he began and then turned towards the bay, looking out at sea. "Iria hasn't been the same since the year past..." he began with a melancholic tone, after which he cleared his throat.

They were suddenly interrupted by Elinor's presence, as she walked on the terrace with a tray and two glasses of cold lemonade. As ever, Elinor was wearing a dress that left little to the imagination; any slight wrong move, and her breasts would be exposed. She smiled demurely at Faelyn who turned when he heard her coming.

"Milord? Milady? You must be thirsty!" she said and came near to give them the drinks.

Faelyn smiled at her galantly and took the glasses from the tray, handing one to Cerdwin.

"Thank you! This must be the famous Nendos lemonade!" he said to Cerdwin as he took a drink, seemingly ignoring Elinor, who frowned slightly and shuffled back inside the solar.

"What was I saying?... Yes... Iria is well apart from... well... there is a lot of unease in the city. Our investigators learned of a plot against you and my sisters. Apparently... there is a lot of opposition from the north against an alliance between houses Eroan and Tarron!" he said and blushed slightly, taking another sip.

"That's what the two warriors are about!" he said, pointing to the solar. "The King himself heard of this plot, and sent four Neosarian warriors to make sure any plot against your life or my sisters will be thwarted! Nothing ever gets past a Neosarian!"

Cerdwin smiled and accepted the glass graciously, "Thank you Elinor." Raising the cup to her lips she sipped the ice cold liquid and watched Faelyn over the rim of her glass. Her eyebrows twitched with the faintest of frowns when he showed no reaction to the handmaid's scandalous clothing.

As Elinor left Cerdwin rested against the railing and listened as Faelyn continued, holding her glass in both hands and enjoying the refreshingly cool condensation against her palms.

Cerdwin raised a hand to her mouth in shock at the mention of plots, cold fingers squeezing her heart for a moment. Watching his face as he spoke she even felt a stab of remorse for how coldly she had reacted before.

Following his gesture she stared at the door thoughtfully before glancing back at him. "Neosarian..." the word was new to her and she spoke it slowly, as if tasting the sound of it. "I have heard my father mention the King's personal guard, is that what these men are? These Neosarian?" She stepped nearer to Faelyn, oblivious to her informal closeness in her curiosity. "Who would risk breaking the King's peace though?"

A moment later the door to the solar opened and Elsa stepped out. She stared at the two nobles for a moment before clearing her throat politely. "Lord Faelyn, my Lord Ralnor is prepared to speak with you, if convenient." The last two words were as thick with jest as the girl dared in such company, but it was enough to make Cerdwin step away quickly and sip from her glass, hiding the color rising in her cheeks. Turning to face the young bear she curtsied politely, "I thank you for sharing this news with me Lord Faelyn. There are many preparations I must make before tonight, but I hope we have the chance to speak again at the feast." Elsa stepped near Cerdwin, patiently waiting to accompany her.
