Literotica is missing the point

I must say that I'm a little put off with the editing process here at Literotica.
I've had several stories rejected for vague reasons such as punctuation with no indication of where these supposed problems are.
I'm a good technician with English and my story that did pass muster has drawn good reviews and requests that I write more.
I consider good smut to be an art form and as such, perhaps a certain amount of artistic latitude should be allowed. Language flow with good smut is particularly important and sometimes unusual word order or non-standard punctuation is necessary to generate hotness.
I'm not feeling that here at Literotica.
Most of the things I read here are as technically creative as an eighth-grade English class. Heaven forbid that someone submitted some stream-of-conciousness smut; the editors would probably keel over.
Whoever's reading my stuff should have the decency to refer to specific errors and I'll get out my Harbrace and we can make some headway, otherwise I'll assume the editor is just some hung-up, dried-out old school marm who's actually just offended by the intensity of my content.

Have you considered using commas?

No one reads your stuff. If it is rejected for spelling or grammar errors, your story was tossed out by the editor bot. If the editor bot approves, a human will see it and pass final approval.

Out of curiosity, what do you write about? And some of the Lit stories I've read appear to be written by the grammatically and spelling challenged. I cringe when I see these. It's hard to get into a story when words are left out and the writer obviously didn't do a spell check. OTOH, some writers on Lit are defintely skilled.

why post this here?
post this on the authors' forum if you feel you have a real grievance.

technically, however, you are not quite as adept as you seem to think.

if you feel this site sucks when it comes to erotic literature/porn, why stay to post your own? surely you'd feel happier on another forum where your smut would garner a better degree of editorial approval?

there is some dreadful material here posted as literature, no doubt about it. this stuff also generates plenty of 'that's hot! post more!' responses.

It costs $15 to register your own domain. Another $10 for web hosting. If you don't like this site, start your own.

Too funny.

This guy's stories were passed around amongst all the mods because he writes like a child.

We all had a good laugh at this loser's expense and now this?

Can't get much better.

also: your username, for a writer ... what were you thinking?
what audience do you wish to attract with it?

it's pretty shitty. honestly.

Which was my point about 50 shades and the establishment. Now if you'll excuse me, I will see my way out the door unless people would like me to stay.

You didn't read his profile did you?

"Lost my virginity at age twelve skinny dipping in a hot tub with my sister's 16-year-old hot friend. My sister found out, got jealous and fucked me later."

He obviously likes both fiction and incest.

if his stories are full of 12 year olds getting banged, that's probably at least part of the reason they're being rejected.

This post does serve one purpose, it serves to show that the 'moderators' of this hacketorium are far from serious about the craft of writing, and far from professional at handling issues. I have no way of knowing what kind of abuse these supposed 'adults' are capable, but trust is not something they deserve after hearing this. I don't know what the background of the writer being humiliated publicly is, and it's not my point to care. But to watch a forum being used in this way is just trashy. They are totally disinterested in anything but hatchet jobs at their whim, and they simply don't care about anything but on-line personna pimping and unbounded egotism. This is totally disgusting, and contributors need only ask themselves if their PM's and contributions aren't just the feed for a bunch of overdrugged, underwhelming wannabe's midnight wet dreams. There may have been a time when Literotica was a good place for exchanging ideas and building writing skills, but if there ever was such a time, it is now only a memory.

Your PM's are passed around from time to time.

Feel blessed I'm not allowed to divulge their content.;)

No, and after reading it I get your point.

Please don't leave on my account.

People don't stay at lit because someone asked them to stick around. It's more like lighting a fire at night, so you can see what's near. Sometimes, it's something nice and other times it's something you don't really want to see.

I thought the barrier to entry here was rather low, considering the quality of the stories I've read. Glad to hear they bounce a few now and then....
