Noob Author's Silly question
Hello, there!
This is going to seem like an insanely stupid question, but I figured I needed to start somewhere.
I've recently begun posting a series entitled "Lost Lovers". I've already written three chapters but, much to my confusion, they are not showing up in Chapter order, even though they are showing up as a series. I'm wondering whether I'm doing something incorrect during story submission, and would like to know how I can change the stories already submitted. The only option I can think of is that I haven't been putting the chapter numbers in the title, and am worried that the only way to fix the issue is to resubmit with the chapter numbers. Is there a way I can alter the already submitted documents, or is resubmission the only way?
Sincerely,
D

resubmission is the only way. Authors have no interface with the database.

1. You can use the Edit facility. You need to resubmit the title, exactly as it is followed by EDITED. You will need to show the new title in the NOTES box together with an explanation of what you want the new title to be.
2. For chapters to be in order, the Titles must start EXACTLY the same way including capitalisation, punctuation and spacing followed by Chapter 01; Chapter 02 etc. You need the 01, otherwise chapter 10 will be followed by chapter 2.

Thanks for the speedy reply
Yeah, i was hoping it wouldn't be resubmission. I've gotten some great ratings, and I wanted them to transfer over :P

If you do it as an edit, I think the ratings and comments carry over.

So, just resubmit with just the title, followed by "EDITED", with the new chapter name in the notes? Do I need to reattach the story to it, or just submit with only the title and notes?

This is not a stupid question. Stories post in alhabetical order, so you have to make sure they appear as CH 01, Ch 02, etc. One of the problems I have always had with the policy of posting stories in a series is they are always postd alphabetically, when they should be in chronological order.
When the policy was instituted, I suggested as much, but was ignored.
I wouldn't be too sure the stories will be reposted the way you want them. Sometimes, when a correction is made in a title, you end up with both versions posted.

Another option and maybe a better one is to PM Laurel, the site owner and story reader. You can find her profile under the Nude Day contest sticky thread at the top of the AH. Explain the problem and add links to the stories along with the chapter order.
And Welcome to the AH, where the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.
