Accidentally locked out of hotel room
naked, if you dare, or scantily dressed, went to put the room service tray out, forgot the key, the door slammed shut... what does he or she do? knock on a stranger's door? go to the lobby?
even if there is a house phone around, someone needs to come up & open the room.

One naked/scantily-clad person is no fun. How about a whole bunch of them? The hotel had a fire alarm. Everyone comes rolling out of their rooms in various stages of undress, bewildered.
It turns out to be a false alarm, thankfully, but some of the guests forgot to grab a key on the way out. They are milling around the lobby in their underwear/robes/nighties, waiting their turn at the front desk to get a new key. Maybe one gentleman, who happens to have a shirt on, offers it to a shivering young lady in the skimpiest set of undies and a conversation begins......

I saw something on tv where Ashely Judd admitted that this happened to her. She went outside of her cabin naked and the door locked, so she had to go get help or something. She laughed about it.

I really like this idea. But what about this twist: all the hotel guests are in the lobby, almost naked. For some reasons, some of the hotel rooms cannot be used for the rest of the night. Maybe there was a real fire, and some rooms got soaked with water - or maybe they got damaged because of fire and smoke.
So, there are a few people that can't get back in their room, while others can. Like, this one young, busty, blond girl, a stereotypical babe. She only wears lingerie, and she can't use her room for the rest of the night. She can't even get some clothes out of it. I think it is an old classic - a woman took a shower, when she hears something. Maybe the room service with food or something like that. She tells the room service to put the tray down next to the door, she will pick it up, as soon as she gets out of the shower.
Once she is finished, she opens the door and picks up the tray. But the window in her room is open and a suddenly, a light breeze pushes against the door and slams it shut. So now the woman is outside, dressed in just a towel. Damn. Either she can walk down to the lobby and ask for help, or she could use the housephone. No matter what, someone will see her, dressed in the towel. But then, she is kinda unabashed, so she doesn't care. As long as she ain't fully nude, everything is ok.
She just wants to walk away from her room, when she notices a tug on her towel. She looks around and now she notices, that her towel is stuck in the door. She pulls on it, but she can't get it out. So now she has a real big problem. As soon as the walks 1 foot away from the door, she will be nude. Maybe she would walk down to the lobby and do as if she was fully dressed ... or she could knock on the next room, but there is the risk that a horny guy lives there ...

There was a TV commercial sort of like this recently. I think it was a tourism ad for Las Vegas. A guy gets locked out of his hotel room, wearing only a bathrobe. He goes down to the lobby to get another key, but gets distracted by a clothing store in the lobby. He buys a new suit. Then he gets distracted by the restaurant, then the bar, then the night club. Eventually he meets a cute chick, they get cozy, and he takes her up to his room. Only then does me remember that he never got the spare key!

I like the premise and to be fair to SirH, it comes close to his original idea. It seems to me that the theme of the story could be either: a) caught being naked and getting excited about it; b) the nature of a relationship when she knocks on the door next to hers.
I think I like the latter. She stands there nervously, she remembers seeing a more mature man enter the room next to her room (yeah, of course I'm older!). She lets the towel slide from her body and goes and taps on the door. She sees the man peer through the eyehole. She says softly, "I've locked myself out of my room next door, can I use your hotel phone?' He opens the door, his mouth hanging open. She sees the tent growing in his slacks and she can't quite take her eyes away. She goes into his room and walks over to phone next to his bed. She sees something, maybe a sexy novel or pics of people having sex on his I-Pad.....and she pauses and turns back to him and her voice trembles and she says, "Maybe.....I don't need to call right this minute......"
By the way, this theme reminds me of one I tried years ago but never got written. Two colleagues from the same company have adjoining rooms with one of those locked doors between them. They both get drunk after a successful business meeting and they go to their separate rooms and then he hears her quiet tapping on the adjoining door and he opens it to see her nude........ |

I remember when I used to work in a hotel on a few occasions I had to go up and let people back into their rooms after the accidentally locked themselves out. Nobody was ever naked (ah well), but it's amazing the situations people can get themselves into after having a go at the minibar....
