Truth be told, I'm a bit depressed too, because I know there's one person I could have opened up to in real life that would have accepted me completely, but she's gone, and I can't get her back.

I guess it would just be nice to meet some transgendered or even genetic girls in real life who would want to be just friends and help me along on my journey.

Stacy-
I don't know where you live, but one of the things you can do would be to join a transgender group, depending on where you see yourselves fitting. There are groups and also conventions where they have speakers, workshops and so forth, where you can meet others and learn. There are also groups that meet at LGBT enters for gender variant people (some are for transitioning tg/ts's, some are more broad based for those not sure, questioning, etc). There are lists of groups on the net, and it is a starting place

Wish I could help you Stacy....but if a virtual hug helps....here's a BIG HUG!! You appear to be a very caring, giving person, and it would be great if someone would help you when you're feeling blue!

Acoustic girls

Stacy - you'll have to buy an acoustic guitar. I've noticed every YouTube mtf has one propped up in the background... I bought one... you know it makes sense... kinda

Does anyone else have an acoustic?
Oh btw, I don't think it matters if you're not very good. I am rubbish but I enjoy it

then there's this gurl who plays electric guitar - Jesslyn - and she's damn good at it, too... It's gotten to where I check in on her to see what music she's working on rather than to hear her talk about her transition.

Ha - - oh yes I know her. She was trying to get a band together. I must check her YouTube page and see how she's doing

I could use a little inspiration.... I am a masculine guy but I do like to dress and I feel the best when I'm dressed. It can be kind of confusing I guess, but I'm trying to get more in touch with the lady inside of me.

First thing I'd say is : you are not alone, nor are you crazy. There are plenty of resources you could read ( I'm happy to suggest some ) but don't be frightened of being open here - you might just help someone else

woah - where to start? Ok give me a few mins and I'll make up a list

Ok here's a couple to get you started

Myth buster

Academic paper

You Tube Leave her nice comments - she's ace

And Preacher: stick around and join in the posts on GLBT, that way we get to know a bit better. Sometimes we get folks who just want to get off on the idea. Nothing wrong with that given this an erotic site, but if you are sincere in looking for help then people will go out their way to help. If you here for kicks then look elsewhere - the Fetish threads are pretty hot! Sorry if that sounds a bit prickly but I hope you see where I'm coming from.

These were very helpful Sticky, I enjoyed the myth part I already knew most of those myths aren't true but I know thats not what alot of people think and maybe thats why i have a hard time identifying with it. And it looks like after I read the academic paper one I mostly identify with Group 3 thats definatley me. I appreciate you being so supportive.

Understood Welcome to the rabbit hole There isn't much "mis-information" on the web that I've seen, so keeping reading: it can become obsessive so try and keep your sense of humour and balance as best you can. When you're ready, then a local TG group might help or a counsellor who specialises in TG issues. Transgenderism isn't main-stream for most health care professionals so don't be fobbed off with excuses.
And keep in touch here: chat, laugh, cry ...

Hi TJ. Yep: new look for spring! I hope it's suitably enigmatic but optimistic - it's 'smiley' isn't it?

I've read the thread, and for the past hour I've been sitting here looking at the open post window.. I'm sure many of you can guess as to why. I really don't know where to start, or even how. But I do need to say something.. even if it is woefully inadequate.

So I will simply offer my heartfelt support, my gratitude to all of you for sharing so much great information.. and wander off for a bit. I need to find someone local to talk to.

Thank you all very much, I appreciate your sharing of information and I offer much heartfelt love for those of you who shared your personal stories.

I've been playing around it for years, with dressing, promiscuity, behavior, what and how I feel most comfortable when I'm by myself... I thought I understood and accepted where I was at and what my limits were. I was.. wrong.

Thank you, and stay safe. Your great people.

Oh I know that view out the window
...and don't beat yourself up over promiscuity, sometimes that can just be how testosterone allows you to express yourself: it's a fiery mix. But beyond the red-mist of sexual thoughts could be that inner soul - only you can know that. I'm repeating what I've said before but, imagine a world without sex or orgasms and decide if you'd still want to be a woman. That immediate post-orgasm rush can point to who you are too, at least it does for me... ok, here's goes nothing - I have to fight back tears of shame and self-hate for having come as a male. Not a great incentive to want more.

In NY - surely there must be. Here's your mission Preacher: find a local resource and spread the word here

Thanks to Dyslexicea for finding a Katie Couric show and subsequent review:

"It's about the TV show Katie Couric did on "Growing Up Transgender". I think you'll like this article, the author is trans and kickass, but parts of her article did bring tears to my eyes. Her article also includes a link the show's website where you can watch the show as aired."
Link fixed...more than I can say for the Lit E sever that just ate an hour of time and posts...
