I guess it's just hard to be an honest writer these days and resort to whatever manipulation of the system you can.

I'm a hack, plain and simple. I have no training in writing, other than what my English teacher instilled in me. I had a desire to write and laid down my first story, as raw and unprofessional as it was. I came to AH, did lots of the challenges and read the Writer's Resource info and practiced writing.
I look at my scores and H's, faves and such, then think, I'm doing okay for a hack. I get faved and I look at the list and see so many writers of merit that I'm included with and feel proud to know I made that list. Despite 1 bombs and all the other abuse writers face, the end result remained clear, without promotion of any kind, I'm doing well in my craft and I'm accepted as a quality writer in almost every genre I've written in.

When I see such flagrant self-promoting tactics like Scouries uses, I see where posters of all kinds can take offence with it. If the site were to provide a non-biased promotional offering of its writers when they entered it, you can be guaranteed Scouries would find a way to manipulate it to his benefit.
This site is the best there is, no question, talent abounds in many stories, but readers, as well as writers, shouldn't have to face the unfair manipulations of how a story is promoted.

You know what's funny? As many people that find incest gross, there are at least as many that love it.

Any site you go to that allows it, its the number one draw. I (and many others) make quite a bit on it over at Smashwords and a lot of those sales are through Barnes and Noble and Sony.

It sold incredibly well on amazon as well until they caved to the 8 bible thumpers who complained about it.

So know what? Lots of lovers of family loving out there.

About good quotes, I like "A picture is worth a thousand words" (a good picture can inspire a great story) and "Do no harm to anyone in any way."

The latter is my own creed in life - the only rule I live by. The former is apart of my writing and fantasy life. Since I have a large image collection, I can get lots of ideas!
