The views shown at the bottom of the story only update every 24 hours. The initial views that show up upon first posting are only the "glitch" views that appear before posting.

Actual views don't update until sometime around the wee hours of the following day.

Until that time, barring a toplist updating on a story that makes one, the only person who can see the actual views of a story is the author.

Neither of you is completely correct, and you know it, Tex. There are some members of the AH who are constantly sniping at each other, regardless of the thread they happen to be on. There are threads set aside for that purpose, and they do use those, but they also use whatever thread they are both on.

I don't actually hate anybody in the AH, but I do find some to be annoying and some who try to threaten the function of this forum and the site in general. I do what I can to minimize the latter.

Actually I don't brag a lot about it. I announce my new releases, but who the hell doesn't? (You do too.) I have review quotes in my sig line; others slap the cover of every book they've ever published in theirs (which is fine with me; advertising your wares on discussion boards is basic PR practice).
