At her explanation he growled in pleasure and raked his teeth across the sensitive spot on her neck. He flexed his muscles under her hands, letting her feel his strength. "Keep doing it. You're truly a woman of many talents." His hips were now bucking harder into her, getting closer. He never came before her, but with what she was doing it took a struggle of will to hold on.
He drew her closer as he continued kissing and biting her neck. His nails dragged down her back in a sensual scratch that mixed pleasure with a slight pain much like his teeth did. He was getting very close. And despite the fact that he'd already cum once, he was still going to fall hard when he went over the edge.

Drina executed a few figure eights with her hips then ground hard against him in tight pelvic circles. But she was very close now and to push herself over the top, she just clung to him and bounced up and down sharp and fast.
She loved his nails on her back, his bites. She dug her fingernails into his arms, "Jesse!" She buried her face in his neck and kept grinding against him as she came. It rolled over her in wave after wave.

"Scream for me, Drina," he whispered in her ear, his voice hoarse with lust. He bucked his hips into her as hard and fast as he could. A staccato bark escaped his throat as he went over the edge. He pumped one spurt after another of his seed into her.
His vision was cloudy. All he could really make out was the intense pleasure and the sound of Drina's voice. His body was covered in sweat and his hair was plastered to his forehead. His breathing was labored from the exertion, taking time to return to normal.

Drina alternated between crying out to some gypsy god or gods and crying out Jesse's name. Her orgasm seemed to go on and on until he finally stopped moving. She collapsed onto him, a quivering heap. Every now and then she would moan as an aftershock shuddered through her.
Her sweat mingled with his. She could not remember ever coming so hard. She could not remember Jesse ever being so overcome with lust. She expected he would let her be on top more often now. She smirked.
They would need to bathe again. And she would need to brew some tea. Special Gypsy tea. She had not put in her cap, nor had Jesse worn a condom. This was not her fertile time, but she could not take any chances.
((I just did some quick research on birth control in the '20s. The Gypsy tea is a fabrication, but I know they used certain herbs to prevent or end pregnancies in the middle east, whether they were effective at all, I don't know, but we can pretend that the tea is more effective than nothing.))

((We're taking liberties in order to match the pulp feeling as it is. So that wouldn't be out of place.))
Jesse's breathing steadied and he let out a husky laugh as he wiped the sweat from his brow. "I don't think we've ever gone that intense before. I wonder what exotic secrets you'll have learned the next time we cross paths," he teased. "You'll come back from India with a position where neither one of us is touching the ground."
He kissed her softly and slid back down the bed. He didn't bother with the sheets. Not only was it still too hot and humid, but the sweat on their bodies would only make it worse. "We'll take a little rest and get the hell out of here at dawn. Petrovic had to have gotten here by now. If he's gone down river, by the time he figures out we're not there, he won't be able to get back until midday. We go back up river, catch a plane to Mexico City and... I don't know, I'll think of something."

Drina laughed and it pushed Jesse's cock out of her. She moaned at her loss. "I'm sorry to disappoint you but I haven't learned how to levitate."
She sighed. "Sleep would be good. But I need to make some tea first, just in case things are too busy in the morning." She gave him a kiss and slipped--more like peeled herself out of the bed and went to her pack. She pulled out a small bag of herbs then went to the small table and took the electric kettle to the bathroom to fill it. She got the tea going then went back to the bathroom to wash up.
When she came back into the room, she said, "The tea is not for you. Do not drink it." She tossed a cool damp washcloth onto Jesse's stomach then poured some tea for herself. A hot drink was the last thing she wanted, but she wanted a child less. She was not ready to settle down and raise babies.
She finished the tea and flopped down on the bed.

The cool rag on his bare stomach was a nice relief from the heat. He toweled the sweat off of his upper body and watched Drina prepare her tea. He figured it must have been a gypsy thing. Let her have a few mysteries. It just made her that much more alluring.
"Remember our first adventure? Back in 1916, in Egypt. We were both looking for the same tomb." A nostalgic smile graced his lips. "We had to fight off those robbers who had been tailing us to steal the treasure once we found it. That one screamed like a little girl when you put your boot to his crotch. That was the exact moment I knew I wanted to sleep with you. I always thought strong women were so sexy."
He tossed the washcloth aside and settled deeper into the mattress. "We found the tomb and I thought I was slick smuggling out those canopic jars. Everything was jake. We got back to the hotel, fucked each other silly... I woke up and you were gone with the jars missing from my pack and that little note from you telling me I wasn't as clever as I thought I was." He smiled at her as he finished the story. "I may have lost the artifacts, but I hoped to run into you again."

Drina laughed. "He outweighed me by quite a bit, no way could I best him by fighting fair." She remembered Egypt very well. It was the first time she realized how dangerous relic hunting could be and how much she enjoyed the danger.
She finished her tea and set the cup down then stretched out on the bed. "I thought I had made an enemy for life. I would have been if the tables had been turned." She faced him. "The sex was that good for you then? I was so young and inexperienced. I could not think of any other way to get the jars from you. I have to say, you made it very difficult for me to keep my wits about me."
"Do you remember when we were both looking for the Buddha's rice bowl? That was the third time we met, I think." She looked at him, "Whatever happened to that?" She turned on her side getting ready to fall asleep.

Jesse wrapped Drina up in his arms as she settled into the bed. "Sold it to a collector in the States. If it makes you feel any better, I heard he auctioned it off a few years later to a museum for charity." He let his body sink into the mattress and drifted off to sleep.
He stirred as sunlight came in through the window. He blinked his eyes open and sat up. He looked down to see Drina still asleep and smiled. He brushed her hair from her face and cupped her cheek. "Rise and shine, doll. We need to get back to the city and an airport before Petrovic."
When she stirred, Jesse stood and went to the bathroom. He didn't bother with a bath and just used a cold, damp cloth to wipe the dried sweat from his body. He didn't bother shaving either, leaving him with a light stubble that shone in the sunlight. He dressed quickly and shouldered his gun. "I'll buy a boat off the guy at the docks. Take it up-river and we'll book the first flight to Mexico."

It was still hot, but Drina didn't mind being so close to Jesse. "That does make me feel better." She smiled and kissed his jaw.
She still wasn't sure what it was about Jesse that made her feel warm between her legs whenever she looked at him. Maybe it was because he was so fair in hair and complexion compared to everyone she grew up with. She loved the way his blond hairs glowed in the sunlight. And she had to admit, she liked the way he looked with some stubble.
She padded into the bathroom when he was finished in there. It did not take long before she emerged and got dressed. She smirked a little knowing Jesse was all eyes watching her reverse strip tease.
"Sounds good. The more of a lead we get in Mexico, the better. I know how you feel about superstitions and legends, but...what if these relics are some ancient weapon that harnesses some sort of power? As impossible as it sounds, we can't discount it. And either way, we need to get those relics back. That crazy Russian does not deserve to look at them, let along have them in his possession."
She tied her boot and stood up grabbing her backpack. "Ready."

Jesse discreetly rolled his eyes at the idea of the myths being true. "If Petrovic really believes these stories, that'll just make it easier to find him. Look, doll... These old stories are your thing. Take the relics and do what you do. I'll put a gun between Petrovic's eyes and do what I do."
He finished lacing his boots and took Drina's hand. The two of them left and made their way to the river. The man from yesterday was still. "Senor? Did you see the Russian? Did you send him away?"
The man nodded enthusiastically, clearly waiting for the promised money. Jesse delivered and gave the man the bills. "How much to buy a boat? Not rent, this is kind of a one-way trip?"
After some quick haggling, Jesse and Drina got into a motorboat and were off up the river. "I still don't believe this superstition bushwa, but... What else do you know about this goddess? You said she controlled storms too?" He wasn't about to admit it, but for the first time in his life Jesse was starting to wonder if maybe there was something to these legends.

Drina continued their conversation once they were safely motoring up river. "It just frightens me to think what might happen if the stories are ture. Other things once thought to be stories have turned out to be true. The Yeti... No one really knows how the pyramids were built, nor the idols on Easter Island. Nor how the stones were dragged so far to build Stone Henge."
"Yes, Ix Chel has dominion over storms. She hated the sun, and was trying to take his power, but I don't know anything else. So little is left about her. In her Maiden aspect, she was a much gentler goddess, especially surprising given all of the blood sacrifice the Mayans went in for. She was goddess of fertility as well. Perhaps I should keep the idol in a lead case." She grinned.
She kept looking at either shore expecting another ambush.

"Fertility, you say?" Jesse asked with a smirk. That look faded from his face quickly however. His brow knit. "That's weird..."
At the questioning look Drina gave him Jesse pointed to the sky, which was clear like yesterday. "Not a cloud in the sky, but the pressure just dropped." No sooner had he finished saying that than dark clouds began to fill the sky. He looked at the sky as the wind kicked up through the dense foliage. The sound of thunder rumbled in the distance.
Jesse looked from the sky to Drina to the pack they were carrying the idol in. He then looked back to Drina. For the first time since she had known him, there was genuine fear in his eyes.

Drina could feel it, too. "Power over storms or not, this is a coincidence." She insisted. "I thought you weren't superstitious." She frowned at him. "We're not the ones who want to use the idol for nefarious purposes. We want to put the idol in a museum so the people can learn about their heritage." She looked at the pack. "If it is the goddess, let us hope the storm has been sent to slow down the Russian.

"'Course I'm not," Jesse insisted. A little too quickly perhaps. The first sound of raindrops started up. Within a minute, it was a torrential downpour. Only the heavy foliage over the river prevented the two relic hunters from being soaked to the bone, or at least for a few minutes. Lightning flashed through the treetops, following by peals of thunder.
"This could be a problem. Going up the river by boat, we should have been able to reach town by the afternoon. If this keeps up, we might not make it until after midnight if not tomorrow morning." Jesse looked up again, wondering just where the hell this storm came from.
Just that moment a gunshot rang out and Jesse felt the wind of a bullet whiz past his face, missing him by mere inches. He reflexively drew his rifle and looked around. Though visibility was reduced, he could see a boat with three men racing up the river and gaining on them. Two of them had rifles. "We've got company!"

Drina cursed the men with rifles, the Russian, their ancestors going back five generations, and they boat they were riding on.
She pulled out her pistol, but the boats would have to be closer together before she could take aim.
She looked at her pack again. "If there is something you want me to do, you are going to have to be much more specific." She glared. And she would pit her Blessed Black Madonna against a tired old piece of stone that hadn't been worshiped in hundreds of years. She fingered the amulet around her neck and said a prayer for Jesse and her safety.

Jesse tried to line up a shot, but in the rain it was difficult to get a clear view of the target. He fired and saw the side of their boat take the bullet a small explosion of splinters. "Damnit!" He chambered another round as a second shot rang out from their pursuers and he felt a streak of fire across his bicep. A bullet must have winged him! A snarl of pain escaped his throat before he could stop it and he dropped his gun to the floor of the boat to clutch the wound. After a second he drew his hand away and looked down at his palm to see blood.

Drina knelt by Jesse when she heard him yelp. "How bad is it?" She thought it was probably a smarter this to try and hit the boat rather than the people on board, which seemed to be their new tactic. Damn smart Russians.
Another shot hit the boat. "Damn them!" Drina crawled to her pack and pushed it to Jesse. "There's a first aid kit in there."
She grabbed his rifle and staying low, took aim at the other boat, just at the water line. She shot and shot again in the same spot hoping the water would slosh in and distract them as they took on some water.
"We are not the bad guys, here." She muttered to the idol in the pack.

"Now who's being superstitious?" Jesse growled through the pain he tried to juggle handling the motor while also getting the gauze out and binding his wound. Blood ran down his arm in a thin trickle, mingling with the warm rain water. He grit his teeth against the pain and tied off the bandage as another bullet slammed into their boat, splintering the wood.
Jesse snarled in rage and drew his revolver. Without even bothering to aim, he turned around and fired out of the urge just to fire back. One of the men recoiled back and fell into the river with a splash. Jesse glanced at Drina wide-eyed. "I meant to do that."

((Argh, I opened yahoo and Firefox crashed.))
"I am not superstitious, I just believe that there are things that science alone cannot explain. I am Rom, I was raised by people who can find water, foretell the future and see auras. I believe in the power of prayer..."
"Did the bullet go in?" She hoped not, she was not equipped to remove a bullet and even if she were, she couldn't do it while they were being shot at.
Drina laughed and shook her head. "Meant to or not, one down." The other boat was closer now. She aimed at the man sitting at the back of the other boat, he probably was manning the rudder. She fired and the man dove for cover, she wasn't sure if she hit him or not.
"What's the plan now? They are still gaining on us. Do you think your Petrovic is on that boat."

Jesse squinted through the rain and shook his head. "No. Just hired bimbos." The forest temporarily illuminated from a massive lightning bolt and Jesse felt his teeth rattle with the thunderclap that almost immediately followed it. He turned and looked to see a tree falling down from being struck by the bolt... straight toward the river.
Jesse's eyes widened and acting on pure instinct he wrenched the motor, violently causing the boat to swerve toward the opposite bank of the river. The keel scraped along the bottom and the prop kicked up mud and silt in a spray behind the boat. He seemed to see the whole thing in slow motion. The boat kept moving along the river as the tree fell. Closer... Closer...
The tree hit the waters directly to their right, splashing water up onto Jesse and Drina and into the boat while also causing them to rock and almost capsize. They cleared the top of the tree and Jesse yanked the boat back on course into the middle of the river. Their pursuers were not so fortunate however. Without look back, they could hear screaming and crash as the pursuing boat slammed into the fallen tree.
As Jesse's heartbeat slowed and his adrenaline levels returned to normal, he became aware of the searing pain in his arm again. He set his jaw and growled as he nursed the wound. "I'll stop at a clinic when we get to town. Not gonna waste time past that... Damn it..."

Drina screamed. She could not believe what was happening. Somehow Jesse navigated them out of the path of the tree.
"I wonder of Ix Chel was trying to kill two boats with one tree." She said. However, she preferred to think Ix Chel was on their side.
Drina dug through her pack, taking care not to jostle the idol too much and pulled out something that looked lik a cinnamon stick but smelled like musty cardboard. "Chew on this, it will help the pain, I think. How long before we arrive." She kept looking behind them expecting to see another boat coming for them.

"Or maybe it's jut the luck of the Irish," Jesse quipped before gnawing on the offered remedy. He grimaced at the taste, but voiced no complaint.
"If we hurry... about another eight hours." It was actually closer to ten as the rain managed to slow them down. It simply didn't let up, though the most violent aspects of the storm passed within an hour. They pulled into the docks at a small town where Jesse had embarked from to find the idol as the sun was going down. They stopped at a small clinic just long enough to have Jesse's wound dressed and made their way to the airport. There was one private plane available that could take them to Mexico City, but the pilot didn't speak any English. It only took a minute before Jesse exhausted the limits of his terrible Spanish.
He looked away from the stubborn pilot who didn't seem to have much love for Americans but had kept casting glances over at Drina. "Think you can help me out here, doll?"

Drina sashayed over to Jesse and the pilot. In cultured Spanish tinged with the dialect of the region, she spoke to him about their need for the best pilot to get them to Mexico City as quickly as possible. And they they would pay very well. In American dollars. She put her hand on his arm now and again and smiled in that sultry way of hers when she wanted something very badly from a man.
He finally relented and ended up settling on less money than Drina thought it would take. She kissed the pilot on the cheek. She looked at Jesse. "That poor sick child at the hospital in Mexico City will be so happy to see us with this special medicine." She said in Spanish, then English for Jesse's benefit. "Come on then." She followed the pilot onto the plane with a big grin on her face.
Once they were settled, she leaned over to Jesse and spoke in a low voice, there was no telling just nhow much English the pilot actually knew. "I thought it was important our friend knows we are on a mission of mercy. You know, in case anyone should ask later." She squeezed his knee. "How is the arm? Need more of the bark?"
