Who's going to c&p a blog about Hilary Rosen's comment about Ann Romney? This is a wonderful opportunity for some manufactured poutrage. Never mind the hypocrisy inherent in people who said Obama had never had a job.

Eh? I don't think of you that way at all. I just saw it on CNN and was sure that sooner or later there'd be a thread by someone like miles acting all outraged that someone would say Ann had never had a job. It's the kind of tinder that gets our resident rightwing whackos all aflame.

You don't think its an outrage to any mother who has raise children... much less 5 boys?

Rosen apologizes over comments against Ann Romney

CNN's Ashley Killough

(CNN) – Hilary Rosen offered an apology Thursday after her comments about Ann Romney sparked an uproar and a debate over women and the economy.

"I apologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended," Rosen, a top Democratic strategist and CNN contributor, said in a statement. "Let's declare peace in this phony war and go back to focus on the substance."

The previous day, Rosen argued Ann Romney could not understand the struggles of women in the sluggish workforce because she "never worked a day in her life" as a stay-at-home mother.

Her comments quickly set off a spiraling controversy, as high-profile leaders on both sides of the aisle rushed to the defense of Ann Romney and that of women opting not to pursue their careers to solely focus on raising their children.

Read the full statement below:

"Let's put the faux "war against stay at home moms" to rest once and for all. As a mom I know that raising children is the hardest job there is. As a pundit, I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen. In response to Mitt Romney on the campaign trail referring to his wife as a better person to answer questions about women than he is, I was discussing his lack of a record on the plight of women's financial struggles. Here is my more fulsome view of the issues. As a partner in a firm full of women who work outside of the home as well as stay at home mothers, all with plenty of children, gender equality is not a talking point for me. It is an issue I live every day. I apologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended. Let's declare peace in this phony war and go back to focus on the substance."

Ann Romney is a lazy whore and nothing more.

She's never worked a day in her life.

Hey, come on. Raising five boys on 21 million bucks a year ain't no fucking picnic.

I was mostly commenting on your avatar. The old one was a kindly man who while I would never hang out with him it's only because I don't wanna see the top of everest as much as I'd rather the bottom of a mug. This new guy. . .I'm fairly certain he's murdered several people and keeps their severed heads next to his fruit punch. If he came into my office I'd run in circles until dying of exhaustion.

Of course it is. The point of the thread is that there's poutrage about this, but not about the same allegation that's made against the president all the time. In short, the thread is about the hypocrisy of partisan politics.

Apparently you don't appreciate the crushing responsibility and grueling toil of supervising maids, nannies, and all manner of servants for several mansions.

Oh! That makes a lot more sense. Maybe I should use this one?

OK but I think its unfair to compare Ann Romney's lack of professional work experience prior to becoming the potential First Lady and Obama's lack of professional, political and managerial experience prior to being elected to the highest office in the land.

Unfortunately, Perg, SR is right. That AV looks like a serial killer looking for a place to happen.

As to the topic of this thread...meh

Depends. Do you want me to stay up all night backed into a corner of my bathroom with a shot gun chanting "can't sleep perg will eat me"?
The power is delicious.

Of course it is. So what? The point is that this sort of poutrage is always hypocritical, whichever side does it. McCain never did anything either, according to some, until he became the candidate, at which time he was suddenly God.

I think of it as my Eminem av.

I've never thought Eminem was gonna eat me. I'm fairly certain perg is eyeballin my spleen right now and thinking what kind of wine goes best with liver.
