The bar was crowded tonight. Rex sat in his private booth near the rear door. Halo is droning on about a party she had been at the night before. Rex looked at the door as a large brutish guy comes struting in and takes a seat at the bar. Rex had seen him around before. He could be trouble if he got too drunk.

Brossy the bar tender walzed over to the guy and inquired to what he would have.

"TANIUM AlE, no bottle, mug!" he grunted.

Rex gave Halo a knowing look. "He just ordered Tamiun Ale, they don't serve Tamiun Ale here, theres going to be problems."

Halo looked over at the big man. "Just another loud mouth, He'll be all right."

Rex watched as Brossy told the man he did not have what he wanted.

THe man started to reach over to grab Brossy, but Brossy can up with a blaster just as the man's hand brushed Brossy's waist coat.

"What .....I ment was I would like a Tamiun Ale, but will take what you have on tap!"

Halo looked back at Rex"See I told you"
Rexshrugs looks over to Halo. "Tell me why we are here again."

Cally
Ship name: none yet
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 100
Hair: Silver
Eyes: Green
Species: human-alien hybrid
Age: 20
Nationality: Although her origins are unknown, her silver hair and pale skin points at her being part human part moonish
Background: Cally grew up without know who her family was. She was found by a nice old couple who raised her until she was 12 years old, when she left them. Life was to boring for her and she needed to experience all kinds of adventures. That way she learned all she knows about ships and life. She knows everything about ship engines and flying them.

----------------------

Cally was wondering around when she finally saw him.

"Rex Lionheart? I've heard you are looking for crew members."

She was very straightforward. She didn't stand people beating around the bush. She had always wondered if it was due to her genes or her education. But it just pissed her off. It was a complete waste of time and it usually caused misunderstandings.

"My name is Cally. And I can probably fit in any position you might think of."

During the last 8 years, she had had so many jobs that she couldn't name them all. She got bored quite easily and always needed to try and learn something knew.

Now she was yearning to be par of Lionheart's crew.

cliptian?

Rex blinked and looked at the woman with the silver hair. "She is so small."He stutters. Halo looked at Rex and rolled her eyes. "Rex is a great pilot but a little on the turnip side with woman. Please have a seat. I'm Halo the navigator."
Rex and Halo watched as the woman sat. "A couple things you should know, first we are a for hire ship. We work on contracts we get from clients to haul freight or cargo to anywhere. Missions can last very long periods of time. Most of the place we go are dangerous. Combat is a very real possiblity. If you are not trained in weapons, we will give you a crash coarse. Rex is licensed to fly Republican ships. He is also a registered bounty hunter. We will encounter many different alien creatures. Some friendly other not so much. We have a good friend, Captain Son'ba a Merckinyte destroyer captain. The Merckinyte tend to scare some people, will any of this be a problem?"

Rex elboes Halo"Ask her if she is a Cliptian!"

Halo sags in her chair"My idiot Captain wants to know if you are a Cliptian? It doesn't matter either way."

"Oh, well, I've been asked quite a lot of times, but I wouldn't know for sure. I didn't meet my parents, I was abandoned, you know. But I have been investigating characteristics, here and there, and there is a good chance that my father was a Cliptian", she answered, in a not very comfortable mood. She always hated taking about her origins. Not that she was ashamed, but angry. How could any parent abandon a child? Didn't they care the least for her? When she was younger, she was always thinking about what she would do if she ever found any of them. And there were no hugs and kisses involved.

"Now, getting back to the point... I don't have any problems with the working conditions you stated. And, please, don't let my appearance mislead you. I'm as fit for this job as any other one you might have hired. I'm small, yes, but that only makes me more able to sneak in difficult places. And although I look weak and spiritless it is just because of my origins (be they Cliptian or not). I can handle any sharp weapon with ease and I've been also trained in some guns use."

Cally hoped they believed her, although her experience was that people usually needed some proof. He appearance was so unusual in the field that nobody believed her at first. But then everybody was surprised at what she could do. Everytime she changed jobs, captains were so sad. Not because they missed her in a friendly way, but because she always managed to become very valuable asset.

"But I can prove any of my abilities, right here and now, if you need me to.", she finally added

The Star Dreamer

"But I can prove any of my abilities, right here and now, if you need me to.", she says.

Rex smiles and looks around the bar. "That would be a tad difficult, the twin rotary Clayborn 75 cannons weigh 3.63 tons, they were just reinstalled at the Biltmore station. As strong as I like to think I am I could not lift it let alone drag it in here."

Halo sees Rex looking around the bar and gives him a knowing look. She stands up and smiles at Cally then looks back at Rex. "I'm going to see if I can find the Grotan and see if he has a load we can haul!" She returns her gaze back at Cally. "I used to get 12 thousnd credits a night to do ladies, I'm sure you will enjoy the ride, I'm going to see if we can get load of Grotan wheat!" And with that she turns and moves away from the table toward the bar.

Rex smiles and leans back a little in his seat. "In a lot of ways I love that little vixen, its to bad she is so screwed up." Rex to catches himself thinking about Halo and straightens himself up.

"Anyway, it might be a good idea to tell you a little about our ship. The licence number of our ship is IS789-2-456. The IS is interstellular a Republic designation the 2 in the middle is ship class. 789 is ship model. 456 Is the Republic ship designation." He pauses for a minute so to decide what more to tell Cally.

"Like I said the Star Dreamer is a class 2 ship, with a Jupiter/Triaxian engine, four multi warping cores. While configured as a freighter it has raider weapony, four long range hyper thumpers, six Clayborn rail launchers, two forward blister packs of short range plasma launchers and on the upper level, a twin Clayborn 75 mm rotory cannons with a auto feeder on an armored platform. The twin 75s are new. They were just installed at the Clatborn Ship Center not more then a few months ago, and realligned at the Biltmore station. The Star Dreamer has 14 pirate kills, 24 raider kills. 11 spider kills,2 mega lifters, 2 SOLs (Ships of the Line), and has the range and power of a heavy cruiser. It is a registered Star Repulicain ship and can haul all but class 1 cargo (Military), legally. " He smiles to himself at that last statement.

"The Star Dreamer has inter-light capacity, the main engine is a rebuilt from a Triaxian mauler named MOTH VERS GROTHOUS if you don't know Triaxian. Thats The Gods of Mothers House, it was a hell of a ship took 182 thumper hits before breaking up and I got its main engine for a song. While it may seem strange for a ship this size to only have one engine. Its one hell of a powerfull engine. And the four warping cores make us very fast." Rex takes a drink from his glass, then puts it down.

"Anyway, normally a gunner on a large Rebulic ship would be housed in barracks hold or a crew sleeping quarters near their weapon. Since this is a "merchant ship" and has a very small crew every one is an officer. You will be the Weapons and Engineering officer. I will give you two weeks to get to know the engine and weapons system. Do you still want the job?"

Last edited:
Officer... Cally was amazed. Of course she wanted the job!

"Yes, sir. I think I won't need those two weeks. I learn fast, so I might be able to be confortable around the ship in less than a week. And I already know part of the machinery you mentioned, so it will make it easier".

She knew everything Rex had mentioned but the twin Clayborn 75 mm rotory cannons. She couldn't wait to meet them. But the other things she knew well. Some she had already worked around, others just heard or seen once or twice. But she knew she would easily be confident around everything.

"Besides you and Halo, how many other people will there be in the ship?", she asked. Her face might not show, but she was really excited about getting that job and getting to know new people. People from whom she might learn new things. Cally loved learning.

The Star Dreamer

"Besides you and Halo, how many other people will there be in the ship?"

Rex smiles, "Like I said merchant ships run with very small crews. Before Halo, I ran the ship by myself. The ship has an interactive computer that can answer any question you have. Just to let you know all logs and journals you read from the data base are tracked. Only your personal log or journal are private."

Rex He takes a drink from his glassand nods his head "You know Triaxian engine technology, that is impressive. I've only met a few of them. And most of them saddly were at the Biltmore Staion." He puts his drink down as Halo rushes up to a table.

"Rex, You will never believe who I just met!" Halo askes excitedly.

"The zen master of the Heavenly Temple Church?" Rex askes smiling
He turn to Cally"I presume you heard of Heavenly Temple Church?"
"Arch Bishop Groda is a close friend!" he adds quickly. He turns back to Halo and shrugs "Who?"

Halo sits down quickly and stares at Rex " Vice Minister for Health Galic Blockio, he needs 400 tons of Tracia Water delivered to Calipso Prime, Rex that is two full hold we can fill, and at a good price, 40 credits a ton. Thats 16k credits for just a two week jump."

Rex looks at Halo. "What happened to the Grotan wheat?" Halo leans back and waves her hand dimissively at Rex"That, just 800 lbs 16 bags at 50 lbs, please, you might as well go back to selling pineapples like you did in the old days!"

"What a business, now I'm a waterboy!" He sits and looks up at the roof.

Cally was glad to find out about that small crew. She didn't feel very comfortable among lots of people, that is why she was looking forward to be a member of captain Rex's ship.

She understood he was surprised by her knowing about that strange engine. But the thing with Cally was that she was quite inteligent for a farm girl. It wasn't too difficult for her to learn about knew things. And having been with that kind of engine for about an hour once at a service station, she had grasped the basics of it functioning. Of course, she would need more time to learn everything about it, how to fix it and maybe even improve it. But the captain had told her she would be having enough time for that, so she wasn't worried at all.

When Halo came back, Cally was happy to hear the news. They already had a job!

"When will we be leaving?", she asked with a smile. "I could be ready in less than an hour if you need it, I'd just need to grab my things at the motel room."

motel room?

Rex takes a drink from his glass. How long has it been since he had slept in a motel room and not the Star Dreamer " The Moonlight or the Star Dust, which are you in or"He chuckles."the Empire?" The Empire is 150 credits a night few crew could afford it.

Rex turns to Halo."Tell me more about this water run." Halo looks a little skittish."Well we catch a break there it in soft sided bladders." Rex looks at Halo. "Question, what are you not telling me, theres a catch some where, loading bladders into a hold is too easy. And 40 credits a ton is a lot even for treated medical water."

Halo looks a little sheepish"The load is not here, exactly." Rex leans forward and looks at Halo"Where exactly is this load of med water, no don't tell me its on Talon, the med station on Talon, right Halo, your telling me I have to take the Star Dreamer through the Talon cluster. Home of 'Kimpo the Killer' and his band of cutthroats, 200,000 credits damage last time Halo!"

He put his glass down and look away from Halo. "Ok, tell me where the med water is."
Halo looks down at the table"Talon."
Rex looks back at Halo angrerly. "We have a rookie gunner, we don't know if she can hit the broard side of a SOL, let alone a raider forktail. I had trouble with fork tails when I flew tigers!" Halo looks up. "You got six fork tails last time, I was there Rex, hell I got two,and I'm a lousey shot."

Rex looks at Cally. "If you don't know it Talon is in a sector called The bird nestits a tight cluster of stars where two galaxies the Mira and Scoppio intertwine. Depending where you are you can be in either one or the other, or both. We will fly into the Mira breach through the birds nest then through the Talon cluster to Talon. Strangly flying in is easy, Its the coming out that will be tough. The only real break is that our good friend, Captain Son'ba the Merckinyte destroyer captain will be in that area in a few days, and I'm hoping he will help us out."

It all looked quite complicated for Cally. Rex seemed rather worried, and he was the expert. Cally knew a thing or two about Talon, enough to know that it was not a nice place to be trapped in.

"Well, then, if we can count on Captain Son'ba, the trip might not be so difficult, right?", she was just thinking about the pay. She had never seen so many credits together.

She would have to practice with the guns, but she was eager to start anyway.

"And I can start right know working on the guns. I can assure you I'm a great shooter, I just have to get to know your weapons."

The truth was she hadn't had to shoot that many times, so she wasn't sure she was that good with guns. But the few times they had had to use them, she had hit her targets right. It could have been luck, but Cally knew it would be too much good luck.

She might have looked too excited, maybe the captain took her for a crazy rookie just asking to be killed in battle. But Cally was so excited about starting a new adventure that she would have said almost anything.

fuel?

Halo smiles to herself. Then she looks up at Cally. "Cally, you've never met a Merckinyte. If you had you would never forget him. I've never met one of their females. The women never leave the home world. Captain Son'ba is endebted to Rex. The Merckinytes hate to owe anyone anything. They hate everyone, and humans, well that is another story."

Halo looks around the room and stops her gaze when she finds the creature she is looking for. "You see the big furry guy over there drinking the Mongtail Ale. Hes a Traporian, mean as they get, also about as stupid as they get too.
They are rather good hunters, they fly poorly, the maintain their ship poorly and are for the most part lousey in bed. Their one saving grace is that the Merckinytes love them. They use them for human hunting. Its a game they play."

Rex looks at Halo."This getting us no where! We have the new crew person she seems to want to go, lets get going!" Rex stands up.

In a condescending tone Halo says"Rex we are out of fuel!"

Rex stops short and looks down at the floor."Fuel, yeah I forgot. Right, 2000 credits for fuel. Let me see." Rex turns slowly and looks back at Halo, while he thinks. Then after a few seconds he smiles." Blonco....Blonco owes me 800 credits for the Treclibite Transformers, he may not have the money, but its a place to start."

Halo stands up and shakes her head"Blanco is in Biltmore Station. He is stacking rocks right about now, but what about Kliba his wife?"

"Kliba? she doesn't have any money!" replies Rex.

"She'll pay you 500 credits if you fuck her!" Halo counters.
Rex makes a face."Fuck Kliba? That is nasty, even from you, Kliba?"

Halo gets up and strolls toward Rex."Rex dear, we need 2000 credits for fuel, this is an easy 500. I can get the other 1500, I'm sure. Its not the first time I've made money for you....you know." Halo kisses him and swishes and sways out of the tavern.

When Rex stood up and said "Lets get going!", Cally almost jumped with joy. She was glad the captain noticed her desire to go.

But Halo's following words turned her down again. She hadn't thought about the fuel. In the other ships she had worked at, they had never had that problem. Or at least she hadn't noticed. But she usually was part of big crews, and they were called when everything was ready to set out. Maybe other captains had had fuel problems, but she hadn't noticed it.

But the "fuck" word made Cally raise her eyebrows. She had heard about sex favors before, but not among crew members. She started thinking about whether it had been a good idea joining these people. She had never really fucked anybody. What if they asked her to get money that way? She hadn't thought about getting money that way. She could always resort to her usual tricks, but she wouldn't get those amounts they were talking about that quickly.

She was relieved they had left her aside. At least this time. But she felt she had to help in some way.

"Uhm... captain... What do you want me to do in the meantime?", she asked.

She hoped he told her to start getting used to the ship, checking engines and things. But he didn't seem quite eager of getting the part of the money Halo had assigned to him. While she waited for his answers Cally started thinking about ways in which she could get some quick money...

Arch Bishop Groda!

"Uhm... captain... What do you want me to do in the meantime?"

Rex looks at Cally then has an idea."Arch Bishop Groda!" She looks at him strangly.

Rex opens his tunic and lifts a silver chain from his neck over his head. On the chain is a small medal. He holds it in his hands and says a quiet prayer. "Cally our ship is at space port 5 in the Hondo area. On the corner of Trackman and Hondo Drive is a church. The Heavenly Temple Church. At the front of the church is a bell. Ring the bell three time slowly. A monk in a brown Alb will open the door. Hand him this."And he then hands the chain and medal to Cally.

"When you do, do not look at the monk, look at the ground and say. The worthy are few, the needy are many, the lost will be found, the found are never lost!" He looks into Cally's eyes. "Follow the monk he will take you to Arch Bishop Groda. Tell him what our situation is and see if he will help us. Then go to the space port. Halo and I will meet you there. Remember the ship is the Star Dreamer dock 17."

Cally was happy with her mission. It seemed quite simple, and it didn't entail taking off clothes. Or at least it seemed so.

The girl grabbed the silver chain and run to her destination. She was in such a hurry that she didn't even said goodbye to her captain.

Cally went all over streets and alleys until the found theHeavenly Temple Church. She had took a quick look at the building the previous day when she had been walking around the place, but she hadn't noticed the beauty in it. And now she knew she might get some favors from people inside it, she had the highest regard from it.

With the chain in her right hand, she went up the stairs and took a look at the bell.

Dong. Pause. Dong. Pause. Dong. Wait.

She heard some steps inside and she looked at the ground. When the brown skirt of the monk's alb showed at her vision zone, she handed him the chain and repeated Rex's words.

"The worthy are few, the needy are many, the lost will be found, the found are never lost."

The monk waited a second, he might be checkin on her. Cally kept her head down.

"Follow me", the monk said finally and started walking.

Cally followed him, keeping her eyes on the ground. Rex hadn't said she could raise her gaze, and she didn't want to make the monk angry. After a short walk along the church, the monk showed her into a room.

"Sit down here. Archbishop Groda will be here in a minute.", and then he left.

Cally chose the less decorated chair she found and sat down. While she waited for the man to come, she took a look at the room. It was nicely decorated.

Arch Bishop Groda

The large wooden doors opens and closes. A young man enters he is wearing a long white alb. He walks up to Cally he looks her in the eyes. "If you are an assasin, know the word you spoke are sacred. Your soul will be damned. Your body will find its way to open space where it will dwell for all time." He turn and moves to asmall alter to the left of the main alter. The man raises the chain
over his head. and calls out loudly:

"The worthy are few, the needy are many, the lost will be found, the found are never lost." He pauses and lowers the chain in to a chalice. He watches the liquid turn colors. He turns back to Cally.

"I am Curate Dante' Del Conte of the inner circle of the Heavenly Temple Church. The blood of a good man is on the medal. He has been in space a long while. I know of this medal, though I have never seen one like this before. This is a travelers medal dating back for before my time. A medal like this dates back to those of Terra. And before Heavenly Temple Church itself. To say this is rare would be to cheapen it. It is a holy relic. For you to give this freely is a testimate to the faith of the owner not only in the church but of and to you."

The Curate turns and walks to the door and opens it. He speaks to a man in black garb. And closes the door and turns to Cally. He stands quietly in front of the door. After a moment there is a rap at the door. The Curate opens the door wide. "I have the honor of informing you that you are meeting the leader of our church the hororable Arch Bishop Groda of the Heavenly Temple Church!"

A small man in red and white walks in and looks at Cally and smiles.

"My what a days this has been, and now a silver haired Cliptian with a medal of Saint Christopher. I am truely a blessed soul. How can I help you my child?"

Cally observed the man carefully as he went on with his ceremony, but without being seen. She always tried to keep looking at the ground, as rex had told her. It was easy when they were moving, but being still and looking at the ground was too boring. So she peeked a little around.

She had started to worry they wouldn't trust her, her being an alien hybrid. She knew that some religions had problems with hybrids and anything that wasn't completely human. But she doubted it would be the case there, as Rex had sent her there, he would have told her about any problem like that.

That was why she wasn't surprised that the man checked whether the chain was real and she was worthy of his trust. Luckily he decided she was, as he introduced himself.

Cally was going to introduce herself too, but she didn't have the time, as the man left to speak with another man. And after some more ceremony, they finally introduced Arch Bishop Groda.

As the man walked in, Cally got up and bowed to him. It seemed appropriate.

"Thank you my Lord for meeting me", she replied, still looking to her feet. She wondered whether there might be something else she should do, like kissing his hand, or his feet. But not wanting to be rude, she just apologized and went on with her mission.

"And, please, forgive me if my manners are not appropriate. I've been asked to come here for some help, by Captain Rex Lionheart".

She doubted she should tell the whole story to the Arch Bishop. It didn't seemed appropriate to ask for money directly. So she hoped that maybe by stating who she was asking help for, they might know what to do.

Captain Rex Lionheart

The Archbishop nods and smiles.

"Ah yes, that explains the medal. The good Captain Lionheart is rich in spirt and faith, poor in riches and assets. A true guardian of the church. We have 72 churches in this sector. I have been to all. Captain Lionheart has been to 68. Looking for a hand out from all. Still the church owes far more to Captain Lionheart then we can repay. So we smile when one of his requests arrives at our doors. Captain Lionheart, has three needs. The first, is to get out of jail. The second, is for money. The third, is for a ship. The Archbishop pauses.

"What is Captain Lionheart's need today, or are you going to suprise me?"

"Oh, no sir, it's just the usual", she replied.

Cally found it strange that the Archobishop knew the captain so much. She didn't find it so appropriate that Lionheart should have asked for help so many times. But if the Archobishop said that the church owed him that much, there must be something he had done... She could ask the Archobishop, but it wasn't the moment. She was in a bit of a hurry.

"He's free and running and the ship is in one piece. So he would need some money, Your Grace", she said, in the most polite manner she ever had used.

So he would need some money

The Archbishop puts his hands together and draws his finger tips to his lips. "I feel you have a question my child. " He walks away looking at the ground deep in thought.

"Your question is, Why! Why does our good shepherd Captain Lionheart come to the church and we never turn him away? Why do we open our doors time and time again? The answer is in the past, the answer is terrible, the answer is sad, the answer was an awakening, the answer is Morgantown, ask the good Captain about Morgantown"

Curate Dante' Del Conte returns to the room with a very small box held up by the flat of his hands. The Archbishop opens the small box and drops the chain and the medal inside and closes the box. he turns and walks back to Cally. "Tell the Good Captain that the blessing of the church go with him!" He pauses" Tell the Good Captain, the E-Chip is for what he needs, it is good for 12 hours, so go with haste my dear....and go with god!"

Morgantown... Sure I'll do., she thought as she watched the Archbishop move around.

Cally grabbed the box they gave her and hurried her goodbye.

"Thank you, your Grace. We are very thankful", she said as she bowed again. "Don't hesitate to ask for any help may you needed". It was just obvious to say.

She bowed again an retired slowly but without a pause.

As soon as she was out of the temple, she put the box in her bag and started running to the docks. She remembered Captain's words. "Remember the ship is the Star Dreamer dock 17"

It didn't take her too much to get there, because of her little size and her half alien birth, she was a quick and elusive runner.

She went up the ramp and into the ship. She found it strange that it was opened. Had the Captain and Halo been faster than her? She doubted it, but they wouldn't have left the ship open for visitors, would they?

"Hello? Captain? Helo? I'm back." she called out, two steps into the ship.

Blanti the Krogan

"Lets see blue wire to force relay 12 C. Then green wire to relay 12D, Then red wire to relay 12 E." Blamti sat up and looked at the E-manual again. "Then connect the housing assembly to power coupling."

The Krogan with one hand hold the housing assembly of the force regulator and with the other he slids the the power coupling into place. When he has it in alignment he sides all three of the jacking clamps into place. With a whir of his fastner wrench the clamps take hold and lock the power coupling to the force regulator.

"Hello? Captain? Helo? I'm back." A female voice calls out.

Blanti the Krogan rolls over on to his side and looks a the small silver haired woman as she climbs up the two steps of the third maintence door. He smiles to himself. Must be new

Blanti pushes himself up. He ambles over to her. "If you are crew, the crew entrance is in the bow of the ship or the front of the ship if you will. If you are a passenger, the passenger entrance is on the far side of the ship door 5 the one with rhe red carpet. But some how I don't think you are. If on the other hand, if you are a sex worker. Take the rolling walkway two hatches down. That will put you on the flight deck. To your right will be the flight control room. To the left will be the Captain's lounge. You better hurry though. Because this ship is scheduled to leave in 45 minutes."

He is just a little taller then the woman but twice her bulk. He touches her silver hair. "In an hour a Merckinyt freighter will be here. It needs a new force regulator alignment. It should take about three hours. I could meet you at the the Star Dust Lounge in say four and a half hours, and work out a price say 50 credits?"

Cally was a bit startled by the krogan rolling on the floor in front of her.

"If you are crew, the crew entrance is in the bow of the ship or the front of the ship if you will. If you are a passenger, the passenger entrance is on the far side of the ship door 5 the one with rhe red carpet. But some how I don't think you are. If on the other hand, if you are a sex worker. She couldn't believe he mistook her for a protitute. Did she really looked like it? No, definitely not. He must be a horny little man.

"In an hour a Merckinyt freighter will be here. It needs a new force regulator alignment. It should take about three hours. I could meet you at the the Star Dust Lounge in say four and a half hours, and work out a price say 50 credits?"

And he had the guts to touch her hair without her permission. That, she would not allow.

With a quick movement she grabbed his wrist and twisted it a bit. Of course he wouldn't imagine how strong she was, although it would be nothing compared with his strength. Anyway, she could have broken his wrist is she had wanted it, though she thought it wouldn't be a nice way to start a relationship with a member of the crew. So she just twisted it a bit to teach him the lesson.

"First, I'm not a sex worker, so just forget about those filthy ideas. Second, if you ever touch me again, I won't be this nice and I'll break your wrist. And third, now you are going to apologize and and then I'll leave you alone and go the bow of the ship as you pointed out."

She kept grabbing him all the time, and twisting his arm a bit more everytime. She wanted him to take her seriously.

She had to be that rough, at least at the beginning. She had learned that a long a go. After a while she could relax and she always got on very well with all the crew. But at the beginning it was difficult, unless she showed her tough and dangerous nature.

15 minutes later

The sound of Halo climbing the rollaway stairway is easy to recognize. She climbed two or three steps at a time taking her flowing prance as a sign that she 'still had it'. At the flight deck she turns and flops down in the nav chair. Throwing her leg over the arm rest. She leans back and sees Cally. Her eyes are shiney and she has a look of contentment about her."I'm working cheap!"

She rolls her head away looking out the main window at the launch area. "Hell in the old days it took me 5 to 8 minutes to make 1000 credits. Now an hour!" Halo straightens up in her chair. Looks back at Cally and sees her working the Engineering board. She smiles. "I see you found the Engineering board, any way." She pauses and looks at her Nav console.

"Anyway" she starts again. "I met this Trakian merchant, Xazious I think it was , and he had these three wives, one was rather cute in a Trakian way. His youngest was not getting allong with the middle wife and he looking for a way to help them get allong." Halo powers up her Nav board. "So he payed me 1500 to service then and get them to relax around one other. Theres nothing like watching two naked woman wiggle around on the floor like two worms to get them to stop hating each other."

Halo works her station, then looks over at Cally. "How did you do?" Cally flips the small box over to Halo. Halo catches the box and opens the lid. She smiles at the E-chip and removes it from the box and in a well practiced move places it into a wrist controler. She has a contrite look on her her face till the number shows up on the small panel. "What the fuck did you do?"

There is a slow trudging sound as Rex climbs the stairs and appears in the doorway. He looks dejected and beaten. "I only was able to get 80 credits from a guy I know. How the hell we are going to get out of here I have no idea?"

Halo looks at him still shocked. "A Rex I don't think that fuel will be our problem. Cally just gave me an E-chip with 25,000 credits on it." She lookes back at Cally with a look of wonder. "Did you fuck the entire preisthood at the temple?"
