Prophecy of the Black Moon (OOC_

[Though I'm still nailing down the details of this thread, I needed to get it out before I forgot it completely. Additions and suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!]

The basic idea is borrowing, in a way, from one of my favorite movies (AoD). Instead of a single person being the key to the Prophecy, its a duo/trio. Our 'noble heroes' all have their own typical life in the modern day and age, only to discover some rather odd developments taking place lately; strange sights that no one else seems to notice, curious weather patterns that vanish quickly, and voices calling out to them.

As one such event of odd weather happens, it doesn't end in its usual come-and-go fashion; instead lingering for the entire evening in such a raging turn of wind and lightning that the entire town's power fails. Each of the trio (or duo, whatever) end up outside on their own reasons... Possibly to fetch a pet that has darted out in the storm, a brave fool that doesn't care about the rain, etc.

To get it by lightning is a rare thing. For two or three people in the same area to be struck is beyond belief. When they come to, they discover themselves in a place far, far different than their original surroundings, a place with a strong resemblance to medieval Europe.

In time, it's revealed to them that they are fitting into a prophecy foretold centuries ago; a legend of a trio/duo of brave souls that will bring the reign of the Dark One to an end. The Black Moon is said to be the time of the Dark One's failing power, and the time when the trio can strike.

What I'd be looking for is 2 others for the Trio (I'm claiming one, if that didn't give it away- willing to drop to one other if no one else is interested), people for them to interact with (char ideas very welcome) as well as the Dark One.


Like I said, it's a rough idea draft.

Megan Paul
Age: 24
Occupation: Student, part time movie store clerk

Personality: Meg gets angry very easily, and tends to overreact. Even the most innocent of comments can set her off. She's a touch territorial, sometimes attempting to claim things that aren't hers. Growing up with 3 brothers can do that...

Background: Her father never treated her like a princess when she grew up. Quite the opposite. With no real female influence other than her neighbor, Meg became "the brother with boobs"; roughhousing, fighting, and swearing out her brothers daily. Dad was often busy at work, leaving oldest Eric in charge. His methods of keeping his siblings in line may not have been conventional, but they tended to work...

Meg is one of two to make it to college, following after Eric. Sam, her second oldest brother, had a football scholarship offered, but dropped after his second semester. "All this studying kills my game," he complained, annoying her to no end. Enrolling herself, she decided to show Sam just how much an idiot he was. Between work, school, and her art, Meg's rather busy. There's no real guy in her life, though one at college has caught her attention-
Too bad he's got a girlfriend already.

Interests/knowledge: Meg is studying theatre and has a rather extensive knowledge of films. She has studied stage combat, as well as basic chemistry. Her memory on that, however, is not very good.

Heheheh, funny thing was I was going to go with something else, but I had Army of Darkness playing while I was "working" on the sig, and, well... the line where Ash says "Gimmie some Sugar, Baby." I knew then what I was going to go with. I had wanted to throw in a lot of Bruce's other movie & tv lines in, but, as you can see, its for the most part AoD, with one line from Jack of All Trades.

I love the idea as well. People taken out of their own time (and dimension?), without an idea of knowing what the heck is going on. More then likely they don't know each other, or just had random encounters and limited interactions. Yet their fates are somehow mixed together in some screwed up destiny.

I have some ideas as the "place/setting", and would love to run them by you a bit. (Like the Dark One...)


Quick Character Idea: (And as if I would go with anything else)

Name: Derrick "Dee" Samson
Age: 30
Occupation: Full Time employee of the local Warehouse store/Part time Student

Derrick, or Dee as he usually goes by, was once one of the rulers of his high school. He had everything, he was 6'5", good looking, was a starter for both the basketball and football teams, dated a cheerleader... just about what you would expect. Then he hurt his knee his Senior year, and everything went down hill. He had no grades to help him get into college, he didn't have any money... and he was stuck in a downward spiral because of his injured knee.

He's been stuck at the local warehouse box chain store for the last 12 years, only now making it to assistant manger of sporting goods. He started to take courses at the local college out of boredom, more then anything else.

And now, things just suck even more. His long-term girlfriend left him (never married or had kids), cheating on him with his best friend. His apartment burned down, he's about to flunk out of his classes, his dog got ran over, and in this downpour, his car won't start.

What a fucking great day.

(Is the username a JoaT reference? Be forewarned, Jack- you may have met your rival in biggest BC fan on lit.)

Heh, bring it on then! I might not know everything about BC, I do enjoy his work. I even read Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way. And... in a location like this I feel comfortable enough to say... I have a huge man crush on him.

But I still like the Ladies first ;p

Just to run some ideas past you. I don't know what you must have in that creative and devious mind of yours but here are some thoughts:

The Dark One
More then just a normal evil sorcerer, he's a necromancer dragon lich (Dracolich), as evil as he is.. well undead ;p He can shape shift and mostly walks around in human form. He has been playing fractions off in this world, not only to keep the kingdoms off balance, but to build an army of undead from the wars between them.


Do you plan on us "crashing" down in the same location.. or separate for at least a while? If so, maybe we could end up at least in two different war camps that are about to wage war on each other. With us trying to get the heck out of dodge.

I like the title... Prophecy of the Black Moon. I would love to know what the Black Moon represents.


And at the very least to just keep my geek on, I gotta say "And this is my boomstick!" At least once.

Man I really want to channel my "inner" bruce!!!
