Jacob 38 years old

Jacob is a Construction Project Manager. He got married out of high school having a daughter soon after. He worked hard to get his education and move up in the company but he still ended up divorced less than 4 years after his daughter’s birth.
He provided good child support and alimony up till his ex-wife got remarried. He never accomplished even becoming engaged although a lot of one night stands. He just focused on his career and he tried to be a part of his daughter’s life at her birthday and special holidays.
His ex-wife had other children eventually and as his daughter with her went off to college, it was frowned upon for her to return. She was primarily worth the hassle as long as Jacob sent a child support check for her. That ended when she graduated high school.
So, Jacob agreed quickly to take her for the summer and even beyond for holidays and such. He was about to welcome her to his house when he received a letter from the university. They had expelled her for detrimental conduct to the student honor code.
Story:
He put the letter away and hugged her tight as he saw her. He put her trunk in his SUV. He grabbed a few other items. He wasn’t surprised as he figured she knew she had to be taking everything. Her mom had already sent several boxes to him that he stored in her bedroom he had made up and others in the basement storeroom.
“Good to see you sweetie.” He said with a smile. “I can’t wait to show you the room I made up for you for the summer.” He added. He knew it would be longer term but was waiting for her to say something.
