Bitchcatraz ~ OOC & Casting Call (female characters only)

This is my first stab at a group thread. So please be gentle but please also don't be afraid to suggest things that might well not occur to me.

Controlled by the Russians, Bitchcatraz is a maximum security dumping ground for the most dangerous and politically sensitive prisoners in the world. These are not your average battered spouses or crack whores. These are women who have spied on world leaders, who have executed acts of terrorism, who have bankrupted nations, who have toppled governments, who have committed war crimes and who have plotted genocide.

Every woman who walks through the iron gates of Bitchcatraz knows that she will never leave.

The staff used to do rotations on Black Sea Rock, spending some months of their year on the mainland with friends and family. With the exception of new arrivals, a supply boat only visits Black Sea Rock (BSR) once a month. The governess of BSR has whittled her female staff now to an elite team of permanently serving guards who can handle their intelligent, resourceful and often combat trained prisoners. These are the kind of women who make an art out of controlling and punishing their charges, who relish and abuse their power.

No government and precious few individuals have the slightest interest in the welfare of BSR's inmates. The Russian government wastes as little as possible on keeping BSR's prisoners alive. Conditions are harsh, food minimal and the women are bullied into being virtually self sufficient; cooking, cleaning, laundry and much more besides.

Many of BSR's prisoners are... less than sane. But nobody cares about that. Symptoms go untreated and irrational behaviour is swiftly beaten out of those failing to cope with their fate.

Amongst the prisoners there is a hierarchy that shuffles with each new arrival. Elderly and sick prisoners are transferred to another floor, where the conditions are a little more moderate. It's social Darwinism at its most extreme and there are frequent casualties. Many of these high achieving women have high and unsated libidos, prompting even the most heterosexual of prisoners to start casting an eye over their cellmates. Sexual abuse of prisoners by staff is rife. Even The Governess herself selects a girl to be her personal bitch. To be selected is lethal however, as the girl must also serve as The Governess' eyes and ears, marking her for a swift death.



So... this will be quite an extreme SRP. At this stage I'm looking for interest and please do volunteer your thoughts and ideas. It's not first post = first in I'm afraid. I'm going to be picky and only approve those with good character profiles, who write well.

Roles required are: -

Governess
Governess' second in command.
Prison guards - Mostly Russian or thereabouts.

Prisoners - I would like a mix so try to post something different from whatever ideas are already taken. Also, this being a prison for the world's most dangerous women, I'd ideally like a broad mix of nationalities, ethnicities and religions etc. I think language barriers and cultural differences will only add to the fun.

I'll play a prisoner but my character is going to be mostly innocent. I see her as someone who was manipulated or coerced and then framed. She's going to be fairly sane to start with but that may deteriorate. She's going to be something of a victim to guards and other prisoners alike. I'll put a more detailed profile together. She's going to be African... maybe from Zimbabwe.
