Religious Blasphemy

I have an unusual fetish and wonder if there are others on Lit that share it.

We all know that breaking taboos is hot; there's something very sexy about indulging in the forbidden. For me, being raised in a devout Christian family meant that not only was sex itself taboo, but so was anything even remotely anti-religious. As I have gradually distanced myself from my religious upbringing and adopted a healthy skepticism, I have discovered that breaking these old taboos against blasphemy and sacrilege is powerfully arousing.

Standard religious play such as nun/priest certainly does it for me, but I find I'm particularly turned on by more overtly blasphemous activities during sex. Things like yelling "jesus fucking christ" or "god damn it" to express pleasure during sex (very Sadean, I know) and even taking it to the next level and incorporating religious objects such as bibles or crosses into sex play.

Does anyone else here get off on this kind of thing, especially the use of blasphemous language to express pleasure?

I can't say I have that particular fetish, damned_soul, but I do often wonder how many kinks the nuns at my Catholic school helped foster with their "Saint a Day" study requirement. I mean, there are only so many times you can hear someone talk about people reaching salvation/becoming saints by willingly submitting to torture without gaining a few kinks. It really drives home the physical pain = salvation thing.

However, I do get a perverse sort of joy every time I think of Sisters Theresa and Louise after indulging in one of the kinks I'm sure they're responsible for. It's a nice sort of payback for their habit of telling that I was going to hell.

I think it's why I've always loved the Belle and Sebastian song, "If You're Feeling Sinister," which has awesome lines like:

"She was into S&M and bible studies
Not everyone's cup of tea she would admit to me"

and

"But if you are feeling sinister
Go off and see a minister
Chances are you'll probably feel better
If you stayed and played with yourself"

Classic. I've always wanted to write a story about Hilary, the girl in this song. Maybe someday.

I was raised atheist and religious blasphemy is completely meaningless and neutral to me. What a shame, eh?

I was going to link to a story by Selenakittyn, called "Lost Souls" but alas it's gone from these pages.

Call it "Hilary and the Dream of Horses".

That album is one of the all-time greats.

lol. Those two songs together (If you're feeling sinister + Judy and the dream of horses) scream lesbian, bible studying, s&m practicing, pony girl scenes... but maybe that's just me and my weird mind. It's nice and quirky, but I'm not sure I could ever pull it off.

But yes, it is a great album.

Thanks for the replies.

It's interesting, isn't it? The more the church tries to repress sexuality, the more taboo and exciting it becomes, making the pleasures of the flesh so much more tempting . . .

Hey, you are definitely not the only one. It's interesting on how you brought this blasphemy fetish up, because last week, I had a dream about a sexy brunette goth chick who had both tattoos and piercings, who was dressed in a see-through mini dress with high heel pumps and who was urinating and defacating on various religious symbols, like the Star of David from Judaism, the Crescent Moon of Islam and the Christian Cross. This chick did not do too much with the Star of David or with the Cross other than urinate on them, but she definitely dropped a SERIOUS load on the Crescent Moon. When she finished defacating on the Moon, that pile of s**t was about six to eight inches high! Fortunately, because this was all a dream, I could not actually smell her though. She also continued to fart and everything. Then, she later got a Molotov cocktail, poured its liquid ingredients on all three symbols, lit a match, and threw the match at the fluid on the floor, thus creating a fire that burned all three symbols. Then, the b^^^h turned to me and gave me the "F**k U" finger, and then put her left hand inside her right arm and closed it up - that old sign that people do when they are saying, "Screw You!" Man, I just loved it that dream so much! Now, all I have to do is find a way to get a model to ACTUALLY do that stuff without being seen...

Also, remember the Robert Mapplethorp Exhibits? There was one photograph from that gallery that had a metal cross being peed on. There was a painting done by another artist, which featured a nun with cow dung all over her outfit. Both of these artpieces got a lot of controversy during those times. Are they on the internet? Has anyone seen them?

I'm not one for religious guilt but blasphemy can work for me. As a sub/maso, I have a strong kink for being considered, worthless, pointless or any other 'less that gets a domly type off. Being considered sinful, damned, broken, depraved or unworthy of redemption/good treatment are facets of humiliation play that can strike a strong chord with me. Equally, at times they can leave me unmoved, because I'm not religious. I don't know why it works only sporadically for me.

Defiling religious props wouldn't do much for me, nor does the inclusion of them in sex. Having said that, were I to submit to someone who was religious and to whom it meant something to make me piss on the Qu'ran or shove a crucifix up my ass... well who the hell knows?

At this time of year, I always find I'm hornier than usual. I can't get the wicked blasphemous thoughts out of my head. So many deliciously sacrilegious things to think about--Jesus being "nailed" to the cross, Christ burning in hell for my fucking sins . . .

Anyone else with this fetish find they're more turned on during major religious holidays?

I knew a young women once, whose sexual fantasy was to be fucked by Jesus Christ. Growing up, she had a large poster of Jesus on her bedroom wall, and she would masturbate, pretending it was Jesus fucking her.

Apparently, that fantasy is not all that uncommon among young Catholic girls. After all, Jesus is the personification of the Heavenly Father, and young Catholic girls are taught from birth to save their virginity for the "Father" of their children.

If I had known then, what I know now, it would have made a damn interesting role-play. Imagine: "Ramming the fear of God into her"!

Now that I'm finishing up my 8th year of art school, I can say that religious symbols covered in shit, pubic hair, menstrual fluid and other things gets a yawn and a golf clap from me. It's too textbook an example of rebelliousness for me to think anything but how overdone it is.

It's not my especial kink, but back in high school I thought it was an extra thrill to give my boyfriend blowjobs in the Sunday school rooms and up in the choir loft. He did some maintenance stuff at his church and would bring me along sometimes. He wouldn't do me on the altar, though. Pity.
