The China Pearl Inn

I have been asked to restart a very old thread here at Lit. A thread that went back as Far as 2003 and was wiped out by a hacker several months ago. The China Pearl Inn is a place to come and relax, a bit of RPing and a bit of OCC. All are welcome so for all the old China hands who asked for the Inn back this is for you. For all you shy readers who are longing to get your feet wet in role playing come along and have a drink on the house.

In a place far away, in the distant land of China, along a now long forgotten coast set high on a hill over looking the fishing village, just under the watchful eye of the China Pearl Light lays an Inn. She has seen grander days when the silk trade was king, but now lies in the backwaters of time. The wounds of the First World War are still fresh and many a man and woman are searching for something, a certain something one can not quite define. An old sailor that has seen much too much of war and lives torn apart has found this long forgotten Inn. If one closes ones eyes and lets their imagination run free an image slowly begins to take shape in the mind’s eye.

The China Pearl Inn gates stand open and just beyond lies the court yard, a vision out of a China that exists now only in memory. The teak doors stand open, mystical symbols imploring the household gods to protect this place and all who seek shelter here. The bar is a hodge podge of eastern and western influences, the bar Philippine mahogany well worn by time, the floors of oiled teak, and a coffee pot sits at the end of the bar, the rich sensual aroma fills the air. From the kitchen comes the clanging and clattering of pots and pans and the irreverent voice of the cook can be heard load and clear as he chastises the scullery maid. The rich exotic aroma of foods so strange and yet so familiar teases the senses.

“My name is C G Raven sometimes bar tender, sometimes rough and proprietor of the china Pearl Inn. Let your mind wander, paint the picture of this little Inn in your minds eye. Come relax and enjoy the company of your fellow travelers. Get your feet wet in the world of role playing, tell a saucy tale or just sit and visit with friends.”

I pour myself a mug of coffee and lace it liberally with B&B

“Phoo Ming you old bandit anything to eat?”

~ She herself has been absent as of late, taking a sabbatical from Lit and writing, but has wondered back to this old familiar place, and the familiar faces ~

A teasing smile as I pour her, her tea and a bit of Navy rum to spice it up a bit.

To the other, life, school, children. I have had two other little ones now, healthy baby girls. Total of three for me.

That is just about it though. Finally got back here to do some writing, and thinking I am staying for good for a while. No just lurking in the shadows myself.

I must say I am glad to see some of the old faces here. There are several new ones, too.

Awe that is the way of the Inn some e old patrons and some new faces stopping by to sit and chat for awhile. An inn only has life when people come and visit other wise it is just a sad lonely building with the ghost of memories clinging to the dark shadow.

I Pour ARaynes her Kula and Cream over crushed ice.

Three now my, my how time has passed. The last of mine is out on her own now.

Time has flown by. The last time I spent a great deal of time on here, I had just had my son, now he is starting Pre-K in August. He has grown into a wonderful young boy.

Thank you for the drink.

Is Sweet still about? I have lost track of her yahoo, so I don't talk to her.

Hello all; glas to see the return of the Inn. Did you use my blueprints for re-building - the ones with the revolutionary no-foundations approach? Cuts down building time no end.

Though I gave that idea a long hard Look Chris I finally decided on the old Fashion approach of using a foundation. After all The Inn is an old feature here at Lit and I decided to go with tradition in this case.

I noticed the chest fallen look on Chris’s face. So I pour him malt and pass it over.

*Eos walked into the Inn, for the vary 1st time. She had her stories of the inn & did not know quite what she was in for as she walk down the bar and took a seat on the stool at the end of the bar. She seen all the people, but did not know what to say. Then she hear a person called C G Raven, ask what they all wanted to drink. She had along night & it was just getting longer, so she knew she needed something hard. So from the dark coner of the end of the bar she said.*

"A whiskey swour & a killens red please."

At last making her present known.

Hi CG, It is great to see the Pearl up and running again. I found this in the closet when I cleaned my office and thought that it was time that I returned it to the place where it belongs.

Good luck in the future, I hope you will be able to restore the old magic once more

Kneels in front of the fire place, unwraps the paper and puts the bear rug on the floor.

Wander over to the bar sweat dripping from my brow. The air is air you can wear. I turn to the young Miss who recently joined us. A roughish smile and a saucy wink
