Jingle Bell Rock played for what seemed like the hundredth time today, and Cara managed to smile at the two small kids who were knocking things off her desk, while she signed their mother up with a new super saver account.

Cara glanced at the clock, ten to four, almost closing time, almost time for the much anticipated Christmas Party. This year, they were going to a place in the mountains, staying tonight, a little skiing, bob sledding and the like tomorrow, and then tomorrow night, THE PARTY, and then home on Sunday. IC Adam had been with the bank for just over ten years when he had received a promotion from a position at a branch bank to the position of Business Manager at the main bank. This was a tremendous new job and he was determined to do his best and continue to climb the employment ladder. The first day at his new position he was introduced around to all that worked at the main back. One of the Account Managers, Cara MacKenzie, that he was introduced to looked very familiar and he just couldn’t place where he knew her from. Instead of asking her he decided to wait and see if it would come to him where he knew her from.

It had been a week on the new job and he was visiting with Cara on one of her accounts. As she laughed at something he had said it suddenly hit him where he knew her from. Several weeks ago his buddy David had invited him to have a threesome with his girlfriend. Cara was David’s girlfriend at the time. It all came back to him in a rush, remembering how hot this girl had been taking on two guys. Adam was off in a daze remembering that one time that they had been together when he heard his name. Once back in his office Adam started to wonder if Cara remembered him. She had given no indication from his first day that she recognized him. This was a dilemma, Cara was a bank employee and while he was not her direct boss he did happen to be her bosses boss. He was going to have to be very careful Adam was not looking to get himself in a position where he might be sued for sexual harassment. He sat there in his chair looking out the window of his office thinking back to that night. "Guess what?? The alternator needs doing on my car, but I got us both a lift with Adam!!!"

Cara managed to suppress her groan. She found it incredibly hard to be in his company. She had spent one wild night with him, and her then boyfriend, and it seemed that she didn't even make enough of an impression on him that he recalled her!! How lowering was that?? But it was worse than that. Cara liked him, she really liked him, and when she had realised who the new boss was, she had hoped desperately that he would make a bee line for her, and ask her out. He hadn't. And she was worried now that perhaps it was because he did recall her.. and thought her to be a little slutty..... beneath him. That would be even worse!!

Just then she saw him walking toward them, and knew it was too late to make alternate arrangements!!

She waved. "Hey Adam! I hear we're bumming a lift with you?"

“I heard that too. I was sorry to hear that Shelly’s car was broken down but then it means that I don’t have to drive up alone. It’ll be fun we can sing along to the radio and play road games. I am so pumped about getting up and doing some snow boarding. The party should be a blast too.” Adam had changed out of his normal business suit and was dressed casually in a pull over t-shirt and jeans with a black down jacket. “As soon as you and Shelly get your bags in the car we can head out. I’m parked in back.” It wasn’t long before both girls had changed and got their bags out to Adam’s car.

As they headed out of town Adam had a thought, “ hey how about it if we stop at a convenience store and we can get some drinks and snacks for the road? It‘ll be the last stop before we get there unless we have to make an emergency stop.” Once they were back in the car headed to the ski lodge they ended up having a great conversation. At one point Adam said, “Cara are you still dating David?” The very moment that the words were out of his mouth he knew that it was a mistake. Surely she would know that he knew it was her that had been in in the three way with him and David. He looked in the rear view mirror to see if there was any indication on her face. Oh how he hoped that he hadn’t blown any chance to get to know her better. She was really a beautiful young lady and very sexy too. He had hoped that he might get the opportunity on this trip to get to know her better.

He made it sound like the journey was going to be an adventure in and of itself!! Still, his enthusiam was infectious, and Cara was soon giggling, as he threw the cases into the boot of the car, and they took there seats.

Shelly had been going to sit in the back, but that would be awkward as hell, Cara thought, and she shoved her friend into the front. They stopped for some road snacks, and shared around the goodies as they drove.

Suddenly, out of the blue Adam asked her a question she hadn't expected in a million years.

“Cara are you still dating David?”

You could have heard a pin drop inside the car, and the atmosphere was suddenly loaded. Cara turned scarlet as the full implication of his asking that question hit her full force.

"I... um.. er.. no, no I'm not.... it was only something very casual, and it wasn't right for either of us!"

Then Shelly chimed in about Cara and Adam knowing each other outside of work. Adam felt like he had to try and help the situation and give some explanation how the two of them knew each other besides telling Shelly that they had been involved in a three way. “Shelly, David and I worked together some time ago and I met Cara one time when they were together. We had a very nice time together, but unfortunately we have never been together since.” He had hoped that his explanation didn’t sound too strange knowing that Cara would know exactly what he was talking about. He glanced in the rearview mirror to see her reaction. Their eyes met in the mirror and he smiled and gave her a wink.

Adam was so hoping that he hadn’t hurt his chances of getting to know Cara more. He sure didn’t want to embarrass her around her friend from work. They would have the next 2 days together well at least in a group sense. Adam was hoping that maybe he could get Cara to go snowboarding with him. “Cara do you like to snowboard?”

Despite Adam's explanation, Cara could see that Shelly was fairly bursting with questions, however, not wanting to ask them in front of the boss, she curbed her natural inquisitiveness, and waited for later to quiz Cara.

Cara wondered what to make of Adam's words, it sounded almost like he wanted and enjoyed what had happened between them, despite ignoring her ever since!!

Still, a little flutter went off,deep in Cara's chest, and suddenly her plans for teh weekend took a whole new direction.

"I've never snowboarded before Adam, do you think you could teach me?"

There! That was daring, and if he didn't take the bait, she would know he was only being polite, making conversation, but if he was interested in her, she wanted to go all out to encourage him!!

"So Adam, you remember that night we all met up? I though it was fun, although I had never done anything like that before, or since for that matter!! But it sure was memorable, and i enjoyed it no end!!"

She had a few minutes of privacy. Shelly had the ear phone plugged into her phone, listening to her phone messages.

“Cara I would love to teach you how to snowboard. It is all sorts of fun and even more fun when you have someone to snowboard with.” Adam was really looking forward to teaching Cara how to snowboard. There would be lots of opportunities to get close to her and even be there to catch her when she fell. He started getting excited just thinking about being near her.

Adam was glad that Shelly had her ear phone in so they could talk privately for a moment. “Yes Cara I do remember the night we met. I didn’t know how to say anything about it when I found out that ultimately I would be your boss. It was a very memorable night and I thoroughly enjoyed you. I hope that maybe we could get to know each other better and see where that might lead us."

It wasn’t long before they finally reached the lodge. Adam pulled up to the entrance and got all the luggage out of the trunk loading it on a cart, “you ladies go in and find out where we are staying and I will go park the car and meet you inside. I don't think I have a room all to myself so be sure I dont get a room with two beds. That is unless one of you lovey ladies would care to stay with me,” he said with a grin.

The car journey had turned out a whole lot better than she had imagined. Unless she drastically missed her mark, Adam liked her, and was interested in seeing if they had something worth persuing!!

She was bubbling with excitement when the got the bags, and went to check in. The company had block booked a load of rooms, and everyone had their own. She waited for Shelly to check in first, then she checked herself in, and reserved the next room for Adam.... just in case!!

He came through the door to finalise the paperwork, and they shared an elevator, as they went up to their floor, bumping into others from their bank in the hallway. They arranged to meet down in the bar, as soon as they were each changed, and Cara could feel her heart hammering with excitement, as she contemplated the possibilities for the weekend.

She donned her ski gear, and smeared on a little lip gloss, eager to look as good as possible. Shelly banged on her door, calling that she was heading down, and would keep an eye out for her, and then, just as she was ready, she opened the door and hesitated only a second, before she went and knocked on Adam's door.

Adam was now so much more looking forward to the skiing weekend as Cara’s attitude had changed markedly from when they had started out. It seems that she was as excited about getting to know him more as he was about getting to know her more also.

By the time Adam had parked the car and gotten back into the lobby the girls had already gotten their rooms. It turned out that whether by luck or design his room was right next to Cara’s. The three got on an elevator with Adam handling the luggage cart. He delivered the girls their luggage making sure they could get into their rooms then dropped his bag off in his room then took the cart back to the lobby.

They had agreed to meet in the bar as soon as they were ready. Adam got back to the room thinking that he would take a quick shower and then get dressed for the slopes. He turned on the TV for just a moment to see which bowl game was on and ended up watching a set of downs before finally getting into the shower. Just as he got out of the shower he heard a knock at his door. He wrapped a towel around his waist and opened the door to see who it was.

There was Cara looking really cute in her ski gear. “Oh hi! I’m running a bit behind you are welcome to come in and wait for me or I’ll just meet you in the bar.”

She blushed profusely when he opened the door wearing only a towel!!

“Oh hi! I’m running a bit behind you are welcome to come in and wait for me or I’ll just meet you in the bar.”

She had assumed he was more or less ready, and now she was sorry she had knocked on the door.

"Oh, I don't want to intrude. Um..."

Her eyes were playing over his body, remembering when she had run her hands and her mouth all over him. His shoulders were huge! He looked much bigger now than he did in his well tailored suits, and his pecs stood out on his chest, covered in dark hair. Her mouth watered, and she blushed.

"I'll wait in the bar for you! I didn't mean to disturb you! Go on! Get ready!!!"

She added a grin, feeling silly, and then she took off down the hall, diving into the elevator.

On the way down, she chastised herself. Well, that was cool! She had all but drooled all over him! One thing she knew for certain, being over eager sent men running for the hills. They seemed to much prefer it if they were the driving force, the hunter, rather than the hunted.

When she went into the bar, she met up with a number of her colleagues, many of whom were hitting the bar already. She ordered a cappuccino, and sat next to Shelly, who was hitting on a guy from accounting in a not so subtle way!

Adam was a bit disappointed that she didn’t come in and wait for him. He didn’t know if she was just being shy or if being around him again was a bit too soon realizing that the only time they had been together was naked and having sex. He got dressed quickly and headed down to the bar.

When he got to the bar he saw Cara sitting with Shelly but it appeared like Shelly was more interested in a guy from accounting. He walked up behind Cara and put his hand on her shoulder leaning in to whisper in her ear, “I’m sorry about earlier I didn’t mean to embarrass you when you knocked on my door. What are you drinking there? It looks delicious.” Adam stood close to Cara sitting on a barstool liking the way it felt being near her. He kept one hand on her very gently caressing her shoulder and neck. He watched as Shelly was all over the guy next to her. She was none to obvious about what she wanted. Adam smiled and thought that they would be up getting it on in one of their rooms before even getting out on the slopes.

“When we are done with our drinks how about heading out and I could give you a lesson on snowboarding. I love being out on the snow at night it is so peaceful and beautiful out. Then we can come in and sit by the fire and have some hot chocolate if you are interested.”

Cara quickly finished off her cappuccino, while Adam ordered his own drink, and downed it. She was eager to get out and try some snowboarding. More especially, she wanted to snowboard with Adam!!

“When we are done with our drinks how about heading out and I could give you a lesson on snowboarding. I love being out on the snow at night it is so peaceful and beautiful out. Then we can come in and sit by the fire and have some hot chocolate if you are interested.”

They went outside, and she sucked in a breath, struck by the cold. She slipped her hand into his, and making reference to earlier, she said that she hadn't been embarrassed when she came to his room, rather she was reminded of how magnificent his body was.

She was glad it was dark out, as it shielded her blush from him, and she really didn't want to seem so totally naive!! Undoubtedly he had the idea that she was very worldly , and that was understandable given his experience with her, but she was actually pretty shy, and that had been a one off, the exception to her behaviour, rather than the norm.

They finished their drinks, bundled up and headed outside. It was a clear night and the air was crisp, a deep breath would chill your lungs. Cara took his hand and as they walked to Adam's care to get his snow board she mentioned that when she had been up to his room earlier that she hadn't been embarassed but rather she was reminded how wonderful his body was. Her comment made Adam pause and remember when they had been together just how wonderful her body was.

They got to his car and retrieved his snow board and went over to the rental station to see about renting Cara a snow board rig for the weekend. Then they went over to a short slope right off the path. The sat down on a bench and Adam showed Cara how to get her boots fitted into the cleats on the board. He helped her up and showed her how to stand and balance her weight by standing behind her stradling her board and putting his hands around her waist. He held her close and whispered his instructions in her ear. If it hadn't been for the hood and scarf she was wearing he would have kissed her on the neck.

They played around on the short slopes around the lodge letting Cara get used to the snow board rather than do the ski lifts and get up on the larger and steeper slopes. Even on the short gentle slopes Cara fell down a few times and Adam was always there to help her up and dust off the snow. After a while Adam suggested that maybe she had had enough practice and that they should head in for some hot chocolate at the fireplace. Their shouldn't be too many people there this early as most everyone would still be out on the slopes.

Cara loved the snowboarding, although she was not great at it!

She fell on her bum repeatedly, and Adam was always there to help her up, dust her off, and tell her how to do it better.

She was exhilarated by the time they decided it to call it a day, and head back in for some hot chocolate. She was cold, but not uncomfortably so, and she unconsciously took his hand as they went back to the bar.

She went to the ladies' room, while Adam ordered up a couple of hot chocolates, and when she came out, he had taken a seat by the fire.

It was lovely and Christmassy, with the bar decorated with loads of twinkling little white lights, sprigs of holly, a giant Christmas tree, and, now that it was getting dark, it looked magical and intimate lit primarily by candles.

Adam was having fun trying to teach Cara the art of snowboarding. He got to pick her up when she fell and to dust the snow off of her snowsuit at times getting a little more playful than what might actually be necessary. For sure he wanted to call it quits a bit early before all the hard core skiers and snowboarders came off the mountain for the night. That way it would be a safe bet that they could enjoy their hot chocolate by the fire in the lodge all by themselves.

When they got in Cara excused herself and went to the ladies room and Adam went into the dining room to see about getting to large cups of hot chocolate complete with the small marshmallows. He wandered over to the fireplace setting the drinks down and pulled the long table closer to the fire then positioned 2 pillows for them to sit back against the table facing the fire.

With no one else at the fire it was real cozy for just the two of them. With candles and Christmas decorations making such a romantic setting. Cara came up to the fire and Adam offered her a mug of hot chocolate and helped her down to the seat their in front of the fire. Once he got seated he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her gently close to him. "What more could I ask for, a beautiful woman, a fire, hot chocolate and no one else around. The perfect end to a perfect day." Once he said it he wondered if this would in fact be the end of the day or would Cara be interested in continuing there evening together up in one of their rooms.

Cara sat by the fire, thinking the setting was damn near perfect. It was romantic, intimate, and nothing like the business like interaction they normally shared.

Her mind wandered back to that crazy night they had share, and she heated, as she recalled all they had done. She had wondered if he had thought her perhaps a little too wild, or slutty, and had been put off as a result, but, unless she was way off mark now, he seemed to be genuinely interested in her. Of course, the question remained.... was he interested in a week end hook up, or something more??

The hot chocolate was delicious, and warmed her through, and she curled up her knees, bringing them up to her chest, and banding them with her arms. She had removed her outer ski wear earlier, and was now in a long sleeved, soft top, and the pants she had worn under her ski wear.

Feeling suddenly shy, she felt herself blush a little as she smiled at Adam.

"This is nice here. I like this!"

It was so wonderful sitting there in front a nice roaring fire snuggled up to a very beautiful, sexy young lady. Adam couldn’t imagine how it could be any better than this. He remember the one night that they had been together with her then boyfriend David. This had been the only time that he had ever been with a woman and another person at the same time. He hoped that he hadn’t ruined his chances with getting to know Cara better. Adam just thought that he should get that off his chest and clear the air. Not knowing what else to say till he could figure out how she would respond he said, “would you like some more hot chocolate?”

Cara listened to Adam's take on things, blushing profusely when he mentioned about her being naked most of the time on the occasion of their first meeting.

She cleared her throat, and gulped down the rest of her hot chocolate, anything, to avoid looking at Adam just then!!!

Heated images filled her mind, and she felt her body respond, dampening, and opening, her nipples hardening.

When he got up, and went for more hot drinks, she asked for a glass of mulled wine this time, feeling she needed the kick, and she bit her lower lip, as she wondered how this was all going to turn out.

Would he ask her to his room later, and if he did, what would she say??

Instead of another mug of hot chocolate Cara had asked for a glass of mulled wine. Rather than another hot chocolate, Adam got a glass of Bailey's on the rocks. A little alcohol never hurt to take the edge off and mellow a person out. Fortunately Cara had not gotten upset over what he had said about seeing her for the second time. Adam figured that this was a good indication that she might be interested in the possiblity of a long term relationship.

Adam brought the drinks over to the fire as other skiers started to gather around the fire. "Since we no longer have the fire all to ourselves maybe we could take our drinks up to one of our rooms and have them up there?" He was hoping that she might agree to go to a room upstairs. Adam wasn't ready to have the others at the bank seeing them together like this jumping to all sorts of conclusions. This was how rumors got started.

Cara contemplated Adam's question, worried that perhaps he was couching an entirely different question in something that seemed reasonably innocent. She glanced to the fire, and saw they had lost their space, so, biting her bottom lips, she said that they would go upstairs.

She was thinking whether it was better to go to his room, or hers, and she finally decided on going to his room, that way, if she chose to leave, she could do so, whereas, if it didn't work out, or she was uncomfortable, it would be a lot more awkward to have to ask him to leave.

"C'mon so, lets go!"

Adam moved the table back to where he had gotten it from and put all the pillows back then walked to the elevator with Cara his drink in one hand and his other arm casually around her waist. As they rode the elevator up he was thinking should they go to his room or hers. He figured that she might be more comfortable in her room. He decided to wait and see if she got her room card out as they headed down the hall.

As they walked down the hall towards their rooms she made no move to pull out her card so Adam reached in his pocket and pulled out his card. “Would you like to come to my room?” He was hoping that he had picked up and not left his clothes all strewn about.
He opened the door cautiously looking in to see if it was straight. Seeing that it was he opened the door and showed her in. There was only one chair in the room and then the bed. He said that she could have the chair and he kind of reclined on the bed.

They sat there talking and working on their drinks. All Adam could think about was seeing Cara naked again. He had to keep his mind off of her as he was beginning to become excited and a slight bulge was beginning to from in the front of his pants.

As soon as they entered his room, the dynamic changed, and she felt as though she was waiting for something to happen.

"So, what did you do before you came to work in our place?" she asked, him, telling him a little about herself, her child hood, her brother and sister, and she asked him about his own personal life.

Cara had opened up telling him about her childhood and her brother and sister. Then she asked him about what he had done before coming to her bank. “I grew up on a farm in Kansas as an only child where I helped my dad with the field work. Then I went off to a state university where I graduated with a degree in business management and finance. Right out of school I went to work for the bank and have worked at different branches in many different positions for nearly ten years until being promoted to business manager at the main bank. Which brings us here to the company holiday gathering.”

Adam was really getting comfortable talking with Cara. While talking they had pretty much finished their drinks. “If you like I can go downstairs and get us another drink or if you would rather get some sleep I understand. Tomorrow is going to be a big day and I fully expect you to have mastered the snowboard before the day is done. Then we have the company party tomorrow night. I know it is suppose to be lavish dinner and dance and every employee is invited but I was wondering if you might consider going as my date?” Once he had said it there was no taking it back. He considered the fact that he may have just committed a monumental blunder by asking her to be his date. Adam wasn’t keen on her going to the party and dancing with all the other guys that would be after her being a bit selfish he was hoping that she might want to be there with him. To break the tension that was created by his question he said, “I’ll bet you brought a real sexy party dress to wear. I myself will be wearing a tux. I thought what the heck might as well go all out for this special occasion.”

Cara listened to what Adam had to say about his childhood, and his career to date, before she drained the last of her drink.

“If you like I can go downstairs and get us another drink or if you would rather get some sleep I understand. Tomorrow is going to be a big day and I fully expect you to have mastered the snowboard before the day is done."

Cara bit her bottom lip, she was enjoying herself, but tomorrow would be a long day, with the party that night, so it was probably the sensible thing to do to go get some sleep.

"Thanks for the offer, but you're right, it is a big day tomorrow, and I really want to strip and get into bed" She reddened, thinking how that might have sounded. "What I mean to say, is I need to go to bed, MY bed! And get a good nights sleep!!"

"Then we have the company party tomorrow night. I know it is suppose to be lavish dinner and dance and every employee is invited but I was wondering if you might consider going as my date?”

Her jaw fell open. He was asking her to be his date?? She hadn't seen that coming! She smiled and nodded, not trusting her voice to come out normally! She wondered what everyone would say, and then she shrugged. She didn't care, she wanted to be his date, and not just for the Christmas party either! That fixed it. There was no way she was sleeping with him and potentially ruining it. She would do it right. Show him that she was a nice, respectable girl, whom he would be proud to date.

She got to her feet.

"Thank you for the drink, Adam, I'll go get some sleep. See you in the morning"

It was awkward. Should she kiss him, or not? It was then that she decided to blow him a kiss, as she opened the door!

“I’ll bet you brought a real sexy party dress to wear. I myself will be wearing a tux. I thought what the heck might as well go all out for this special occasion.”

She had a nice dress, and now she wondered if it was going to fit the bill?? Maybe she needed something else??

She bid him good night, and went back to her room, tugging her dress out of the wardrobe. She put it on, and admired herself. She looked good in her sexy red full length dress!
