Ok testing this, hopefully helpful!

Ok, a brief easy instruction I hope!!!!

The Lit codes or tags start with a [ a square bracket
Then they end with the same code but with a / (forward slash) before and in order.
So a code or tag is
Code:
 info
No spaces between
Upper or lower case does not matter.

Fonts available in Lit are:
arial
times new roman
courier new
century gothic

Arial
Times
Courier
Century

Starts as info, then it’s

Size is only 3 choices

{SIZE=***}
(1, 3 or 4)…close with the ]info, then... {/SIZE}

Size=1, Small
Size=3, Large
Size=4, Huge
Small
Large
Huge

Color’s are:

skyblue
royalblue
blue
darkblue
orange
orangered
crimson
red
firebrick
darkred
green
limegreen
seagreen
deeppink
tomato
coral
purple
indigo
burlywood
sandybrown
sienna
chocolate
teal
silver

I have typed the words are they are in the code
[COLOR= name of color ] info [/color]

Usually it’s easier to use the buttons, but when you want to do more that one thing, or within a signature line, then you must type it!

So knowing the codes is the answer, just keep them in the right order

all these have the square brackets

Bold is {b}
Italic is {I}
Undeline is{u}

Finish with the same code but with the...* {/same code}
info then ending with
*{email]myname@domain.com[/same code}*
[img] info then ending with [/img]
*{img] url of image[/same code}*

So when you want to do more than one thing…
Bold, colour, size

Do it in the same order
({b][size=3})

Then your info, then…

Then*( {/b]
[/size])

I hope this helps!
I hope this works to! (as in posting this!)

Pictures in a signature line
<img src=" then paste the url that have copied, and then type ">

To align it to the right

<img src=url of site align=right>
Left is the default, middle or center.

It takes some fiddling, but this is the main idea!
I am still learning!

To create a link is
Literotica Bar
{url= the address of the thread or site]Info about it, my stories, name of site etc
Then{/url}
To make it bold or color, add before and after in order.

To center text in a signature is:

Text as a centered paragraph. *<P Center> the text</P>*
Omit the * of course!
P for new paragraph
Omit the P if you want it on the same line, not a new paragraph
Center, left or right
Then the text
Finish with </p>
These codes start with the less than symbol < and finish with the greater than > but still include the / to finish it
Images with text are a bit tricky, depends on the size of the image etc.

Doh, ok

Some of that was a mess!

But now I can see it, I'll try to fix it later

Too tired now, but now maybe I can see better how to explain, what works in a message and what will still take on the codes!

I tried anyway

Pm me if I can help!

I can't find a "center" command in the vB code help page. Since HTML is disabled in the post body, I'm pretty sure that true centering isn't possible. You can use hard returns and leading spaces to center things if you're willing to put out the effort.

Arial, Times, Courier, and Century, are the only fonts available in the post body.

As Harold says, it is not quite the same, as I have learnt, to my frustration!

Fonts are as I posted before, same as size and color!

I have fiddled, so this is a great place to test fiddling!

The P is for a new paragraph

Just PM me, maybe I can, tell me what you are trying to do

Or you can email me direct, you know mine!

Sure is fun, umm, sometimes...
Frustrating mostly, the FAQ's are brief, I am still trying to puzzle out the difference between V8 code and HTML
Something work, some don't!

Harold, any more help here?
Maybe we should try and write something in the FAQS that is clearer and more helpful?

I tried before, check previous postings.
On, font, size and color, plus I tried to explain other things, didn't come out very well!

The difference between vB code and HTML is pretty basic.

vB codes are interpreted by the BB software.
HTML codes are interpreted by your browser.

The way to tell the difference, is that vB codes use square brackets and HTML uses angle brackets.

[] = vB code
<> = HTML

Literotica's BB is configured so that only vB codes work in the body of the post.

HTML will work in your signature or location -- both of which show up on EVERY post you make. vB codes sometimes work in your signature and sometimes don't -- I haven't figured out exactly why that is.

The standard vB codes are explained fairly well in the vB code help page -- http://www.literotica.com/forum/misc...bbcode#buttons -- but there are a few custom vB codes
like Flip Vertical
that Laurel added while experimenting with the software configuration. Those aren't shown on any help or FAQ page that I know of.

LOL Harold, thank you for the clear explaination, I had that Faq, But as it was so clear I must have ignored it somewhere along the lline!.

It is a clear as mud, so I will go wallow again, I am sure everyone appreciates it!
When I am awake and have a brain, I will try to figure out the difference!
For the rest of you, here is the FAQ's:

If any of us can explain in simpler terms, it would be much appeciated!
LOL.

Doh, bed for me, my head hurts!

Yup, is is crystal clear, now, where is my crystal ball?

~Chuckles~
Later maybe, after some sleep, my brain needs the refresh button!

Isn't it fun?

Nods and thanks Harold for his enlightning explaination.
But I am left alone here, if you do not completely understand, then I better get back to basics!

Bows out, holding head in pain!
Oh where is DOS and WIN 3.11, that was simple stuff!

Ok, better dust off the drawing board! and dust off my grey cells!

LOL
"Many thanks!"
~Mutters as she crawls back to her lair~
I owe you Harold!

(Her tired visage breaks into a very evil grin.)

The FAQ

My pasting does not give you the 'red parts' so check the origional link.
Good luck.

What is vB Code?
vB code is a set of tags based on the HTML language that you may already be familiar with. They allow you to add formatting to your messages in the same way as HTML does, but have a simpler syntax and will never break the layout of the pages you are viewing. The ability to use vB Code is set on a forum-by-forum basis by the administrator, so you should check the forum rules when you post a new message.
URL Hyperlinking
If vB Code is enabled in a forum, you can simply type in the full address of the page you are linking to, and the hyperlink will be created automatically. Here are some example links:
· http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/
· www.vbulletin.com
Notice that if the address begins with www. you do not need to add the http:// part of the address. If the address does not begin with www. you will need to add the http:// section. You may also use https:// and ftp:// links, and these will be converted into links.
If you want to include the vB Code, you may simply surround the address with [url] tags as shown below. (The vB Code tags are shown in red).
www.vbulletin.com/forum/
You can also include true hyperlinks using the [url] tag. Just use the following format:
Click here to visit the vBulletin forums
This will produce a hyperlink like this: Click here to visit the vBulletin forums.
Note that once again, you need not include the http:// if the address begins www.
Email Links
To add a link to an email address, you can simply include the email address in your message like this:
myname@domain.com
Note that there must be a blank space, such as a space or a carriage return before the beginning of the address.
You can also use vB Code tags to specify an email address, like this:
myname@domain.com
You can also add a true email hyperlink using the following format:
Click here to email me
This will produce a hyperlink like this: Click here to email me.
Bold, Underlined and Italic Text
You can make text bold, underlined or italicized by simply surrounding your text with tags as shown below:
· some text produces some text
· some text produces some text
· some text produces some text
Using Different Colors, Sizes and Fonts
You can alter the size, color and font of text using the following tags:
· some text produces some text (colored blue)
· some text produces some text (size 4 text)
· some text produces some text (using courier font)
You can also combine all the various text formatting tags. This example uses bold, underlined, purple text:
Wow there's lots of formatting here!
This example produces this:
Wow there's lots of formatting here!
Bullets and Lists
You can create bulleted or ordered lists in the following way:
Unordered, bulleted list:
  • first bulleted item
  • second bulleted item
This produces:
· first bulleted item
· second bulleted item
Note that you must remember to close the list with the[/list]tag.
If you would like to create a list ordered numerically or alphabetically, this is just as easy. You simply need to add a little extra code to your
  • and
tags. The extra code looks like =1 (for a numbered list) or =A (for a list from A to Z). Here are some examples:[list=1][*]this is the first numbered item[*]this is the second numbered item[/list=1]This produces:1. this is the first numbered item 2. this is the second numbered item [list=A][*]this is the first alphabetically ordered item[*]this is the second alphabetically ordered item[/list=A]This produces:a. this is the first alphabetically ordered item b. this is the second alphabetically ordered item
Adding Images
To include a picture or graphic within the body of your message, you can simply surround the address of the image as shown here:

Note that the http:// part of the image URL is required for the [img] code.
You can even create a thumbnail-type hyperlink by surrounding your [img] code with a [url] code like this:

This produces a link like this: .
Quoting Other Messages
To quote something that has already been posted, simply cut-and-paste the text you want to quote, and enclose it as follows:
Quote:
No. Try not.
Do or do not, there is no try.
The [quote] tags will automatically indent the enclosed text.
The Code and PHP Tags
If you want to post some programming source code, or perhaps some ASCII art, which would require a non-proportional font, you can use the [code] tag to achieve this. For example:
Code:
<script language="**********">
<!--
alert("Hello world!");
//-->
</script>
In the example above, the text enclosed in the [code] tags would be automatically indented, and the spacing would be preserved like this:
<script language="**********">
<!--
alert("Hello world!");
//-->
</script>
A special case is for code written in the PHP language. If you are posting PHP code, you can enclose the source code in [php] tags, and the script will automatically have syntax highlighting applied:
PHP Code:
$myvar "Hello World!";
for (
$i=0$i<10$i++) {
echo
$myvar."\n";

This would produce:
$myvar = "Hello World!";
for ($i=0; $i<10; $i++) {
echo $myvar."\n";
}
Incorrect vB Code Usage:
· http://<a href="http://www.vbulletin...lletin.com</a> - don't put spaces between the bracketed code and the text you are applying the code to.
· [email]myname@domain.com - the end brackets must include a forward slash ()
