So I finally found someone new willing to be grilled, 'er *highlighted* in the Spotlight and it's .....Kikori.

Just as a reminder, the rules for the Spotlight thread can be found here and say:

1. only those who have specifically given their explicit permission to participate in this process. people may do so by posting to this thread so saying. yes, this means that people might edit their posts and revoke their consent: if you do, please post again with that change.

2. after a thread runs its course, the spotlighted HTer selects any person responding yes to this thread and creates the next thread.

edit: when you select someone, please PM him or her & get a response to make sure that person will be available

3. whatever disagreements we may have with forumites, the spotlight thread is not a place for mockery. people may choose to share what they like, with the understanding that such sharing ought not to be ammunition for abuse.

So with that in mind, I'll lead off;

1. How did you choose your Lit name? Is there any special significance or meaning behind it?

2. What brought you to Lit?

3. I know you write, but do you also read alot? If so, do you have a genre you favor?

*Strikes a straight, well-postured pose for the spotlight as recommended via PM*

1.) My name here's pretty much the same name I use anywhere on the 'net.
Gamers, relatives of gamers, or friends of gamers may know about the game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In the game is a race of people (kids with faeries) called the Kokiri.

Well, every time I read that, my mind saw "Kikori". I got so used to it, it's what I thought they were called for ages. Even though I was told of the fact that I've been spelling and pronouncing it wrong, "Kikori" has become a bit of a personal thing for me. It's my mistake, and I enjoy it. It also rolls off the tongue better. :p

2.) In a very, very, very old chat room I first discovered roughly ten years ago whilst watching my brothers pretend to be girls and flirt with lesbians (though years later when I was mature enough to understand why they may do that), I made a few friends. One happened to reference me to this website, specifically the story Seeds. That was both my introduction to erotica and my basis for turning my roleplaying experience on that chat room / other forums into the stories I've made here. (Specifically, my "Parasite" story was created to be a story similar to "Seeds", as a request from the friend who brought me here.)

3.) Reading Literotica? Maybe a couple times a week. From books? Unless I have a new one (which is uncommon), reading is bathroom entertainment.
As for genres, there's one common theme. I don't enjoy bloodlust, torture, and the like.
For erotica, I mainly enjoy the milder side of BDSM, non-humans (you may have been able to tell from what I write most of, but I like anthromorphs), fetishes, and romance.
For other books, it's not so much a genre search as a series search. Animorphs, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings-related books consume most of my shelf. Old children's books I don't wanna throw away consumes most of the rest. If I could find some of the Hardy Boys that I'd read in middle school, I'd also be flocking for them.

welcome to the spotlight, kikori! i haven't been around a lot for a while but nice to see you!

i will start with my usual set of questions.

1. what is your favorite word?
2. what is your least favorite word?
3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. what turns you off?
5. what is your favorite curse word?
6. what sound or noise do you love?
7. what sound or noise do you hate?
8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. what profession would you not like to do?
10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

I haven't been posting terribly actively, either, unfortunately. ^_^;

1.) Derptard. (Derp + retard)
2.) Broken. Nothing is EVER broken, especially people; everything can be fixed, replaced, or at least mended.
3.) Creatively? Music plus friends plus what I see, especially in games.
Spiritually? Music alone takes the cake on that one.
Emotionally? Music and closeness to people, especially if I'm able to fulfill both parts of my mantra (happiness and comfort).
Since Music's the main theme for anything turning me on, the song I can't stop repeating at the moment is Battle For Everyone's Souls (Reincarnation). As an example of all three points, I both feel inspired to draw someone befitting this song, recognize others' potential reactions to it and the feelings I get from it, and get off my ass to drive forward instead of procrastinate.
4.) Pain (especially that which I inflict), greed (in the sense that "I'm going to demand or take what I haven't earned, whether or not it hurts you), and sheer ignorance (which makes me question being a cashier at the moment).
5.) "Shit", due to a memory of playing games with friends in which the characters we control would utter "Shit, yeah!" as a celebration.
6.) Rain on windows. Best lullaby ever.
7.) The banshee shriek of a child. Which, again, makes me question my job.
8.) Pretty much anything not related to driving. I enjoy manual labor, working with people (they're funny :3), solving problems, etc.
At the moment, I'm working toward computer networking, though.
9.) Pretty much anything related to driving. :p
10.) "Your friends are waiting for you that way." *Points*
(Not referring to any deceased yet, but to that most of my friends are older and more likely to depart before I would)

Hello Kikori!

~ If you could change one aspect of the society in which you live, what would it be and why?

~ Do you associate yourself with any fictional character?

~ What does the scent of cinnamon remind you of?

Hello Fire! Didn't you used to have an avatar of a lady in red facing sideways playing with fire..?

~ For the sake of long-term, the willingness to get up and do work of the general people. We complain that unemployment is at a high, but let's be honest; how many people who complain about having no jobs would actually go out and, say, dig ditches, build things, clean on a large scale, or pretty much any labor stereotypically dominated by (illegal) immigrants?

~ I used to associate myself with Colette Brunel due to the "Everyone above myself" nature and inability to make my own decisions. However, I've learned to be able to focus on myself a little more, and have gained confidence in leaps compared to the years ago in which I made those comparisons.
I've yet to find a character who holds the same view and same inability to share problems with others while being openly sarcastic and very set to entertain others.

~ Directly? Apples. Due to a chained train of thought? Christmas, especially with everyone arriving here. (Cinnamon -> Thanksgiving-y smell, or apple-based smell -> apple pies -> potentially baked or brought on Christmas / Thanksgiving -> Christmas is preferred due to a better range of desserts)

What do you think is the best thing about being an ISFJ? The worst?

(Coincidentally, I'm also ISFJ).

The best? The fact that I can say I genuinely care for, empa/sympathize with others, and work for them as opposed to others very likely having a different motive, such as thinking helping is an obligation.

The worst? Definitely my inability to actually speak my mind. It comes naturally to hold back any thoughts that may provoke negativity.

kikori, nifty answers thus far.

11. you made mention of music as having a large role in your life. can you expound upon how significant it is?

12. in reading your answer to bailadora's questions, it appears you're a fan of fantasy. who are your favorite authors in that genre?

13. when you're down, what makes you happy?

14. are you more of a glass half-full or half-empty sort?

15. what do people often tend not to understand about you?

11.) My father is a drummer and rhythm guitarist. Think Niel Pert-class drums. My brothers play guitar. When young, I had to listen to my father's basement band either record their covers themselves, or went with them to the other players' houses to play there.
Video games aren't worth it without a good soundtrack. So I will call a game with an epic story, great gameplay, and a generally good rating "a waste" if I don't enjoy how it sounds.
I don't watch TV. I listen to it.

It's not a significance that I'd get a job for, but it's something that's important enough to make me wonder why I don't have an Ipod, a pair of the headphones from Persona 3 (the game with the song I linked to earlier), and a collection of my favorite songs handy.

12.) J. R. R. Tolkien, for her detail in the Lord of the Rings books. Normally people go into too much or nowhere near enough detail about scenery, or about peoples' interactions, or feelings... This one? Good balance for great books.

13.) Highly variable, never predictable, and often a lost cause to search for. Physical contact, especially cuddling, is the only thing that seems to help in bad cases. Eating, physical activity, or adrenaline pumping can help in milder cases. Those are just the most common things that've helped, though, not sure-fire ones.

14.) Half full. If I'm set to try to help others be happy, it'd be silly to take a pessimist's view on things. :p

15.) Either that my sarcasm is simply sarcasm, meant to entertain instead of become an insult, or that my longing for cuddles & closeness is from being hyper-affectionate rather than seeking a relationship. Can't decide which is mis-read more often.

I linked a friend to this topic for fun. She asked me a few questions privately, and I decided to suggest making the responses public. She's all for it, just not here to post them herself. ^_^;

Friend said:
If you had three wishes, what would they be and why?
If you could have someone else's identity, who would it be and why?
If you were given a chance to go back in time and change one event that happened to you in the past, what would you change and why?
Would you like to be able to see your future? Why or why not?
If you were given 24 hours to be with a porn star, which porn star would you choose and why?

1.) One would be for a scanner (similar to this one that would pretty much allow me to tell anything I wanted about a person. Between physical traits, internal ailments, if they're lying or not, etc. It'd make my job SO much easier. ><;
Two would be for the internal resources of earth to replenish themselves over time. Unlimited resources means people don't have near as much reason to be greedy, far less need to worry about the 'rarity' of an item, and so on.
The third would be for the Genie granting my wishes to be granted freedom. :D

2.) Can't say I'm jealous of anyone enough to want to be them. Celebrities deal with media, athletes deal with contracts, politicians deal with being crooked, and the owners of strip clubs would very potentiall get sued for doing anything with their models. I might be able to answer this one either ten years ago or ten years from now. >.>;

3.) The banning spree I went on that cost me my moderator status on another forum. It's pretty much the biggest black mark on all three my reputation there, my self control, and my my history of personal stupid acts.

4.) Yup. Just so I can FINALLY figure out if I'm actually able to properly, fully be in love or not.

5.) Brandy Taylor(e). Large bosom, sweet face, well-practiced in my favorite way to orgasm, and the only pornstar I've ever dwelled over making orgasm in return.

I don't have any new questions kikori, though I've enjoyed reading your replies.

Just wanted to leave an avatar shaped prezzie for you.

:rose:

Hehe, cute. ^^ Shall stick to my current one out of personal attachment, though. <3

I should probably get a new topic started, then. Mine seems to have screeched to a halt.
