Anyone ever heard of it? How would it differ from regular BDSM?

LOL! No.
I've heard there is a Biblical injunction, about men's dominion, that is the foundation of "Christian BDSM" philosophy, but that's all I've heard.

There are a number of Christian bdsm sites on the internet. If you go to one of them you will probably find all the information you're looking for.

Resarch 'Taken in Hand'; I believe it's the most easily recognized Biblically based D/s model.

Christian D/s, yes. Of course. The governor of a state adjacent to yours endorsed it, in a full page ad in USA Today, praising the Southern Baptist Convention:

"You are right because you recognized that the family was God's idea, not man's, and that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman for a lifetime.

"You are right because you called husbands to sacrificially love and lead their wives.

"You are right because you called wives to graciously submit to their husband's sacrificial leadership.

"You are right because you affirmed that the husband and wife are of equal worth before God.

"You are right because you reminded us that children are a blessing and heritage from the Lord.

"More importantly, you are right because your statement is based on biblical truth."

Three rather obvious differences jump out from the text. The first being absolute intolerance for homosexuality, the second being absolute intolerance for alternate gender roles. The third being the notion that D and s roles are not a matter of personal choice or ID, but rather ordained by god.

There are different views or schools of Christian bdsm, just as there are of religion in general, or of bdsm in general. On one end of the spectrum are those who are into some form of bdsm precicely because they believe God ordains and/or commands it. The other side is made up of Christians who are into bdsm not because they are called to do so by the Bible- but because they are bdsm'rs who see no conflict with their religious beliefs. Sort of like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and sports. The Bible does not say we should go forth and play baseball; but there are lots of Christian baseball players, and organizations to bring them together and share common interests.

Christians who play baseball aren't playing "Christian baseball." They're playing MLB baseball, or NCAA baseball, or Little League. The exception would be some sort of specifically designed Christian League.

Perhaps I misunderstood the OP's question. If she's asking how support groups & clubs for Christian kinksters are different than non-faith-based support groups & clubs, I don't have an answer other than the obvious. I assume they spend time talking about how to reconcile kink with whatever their preachers are dictating, and the role of faith or how to incorporate the god thing.

It sure would be great if those support groups reached out to non-kinky Christians, to openly combat the sexual intolerance predominant in so many sects. Do you know of any groups that do that?

Crown of thorns... spikes through the wrists... given vinegar in leiu of water... can you get any more BDSM than that?

Not to mention turning the other cheek so it can be bitch-slapped as well.

Consent issues aside, I tend to think of BDSM as a practice in which at least one party's getting their rocks off.

I can see how if you're into BDSM and you're into conservative evangelical doctrine, it would be satisfying to blend them into a sort of D/s theological smoothie. CM's advice on Taken in Hand seems like a good start.

I can't really relate to the conservative aspect of it, but I do find the symbolism and ritual of certain Christian practices extremely erotic: subjugation, forgiveness, punishment... :)

Mmm...D/s theological smoothie. My favorite!

Interesting topic. there has to be a lot of religious people out there with who struggle in the tug-war between faith / doctrine and their own sexuality which they might perceive to be conflicting with their other beliefs.

I know I do

I did surf around in Taken in Hand, and didn't run into much Christianity there. In fact, only read one post that mentioned it, in the context of praising a female sub who writes from a Jewish perspective.
Perhaps there was more there written from a religious perspective, I don't know, I got kind of bored after a while.
Just to set the record straight, I am no Christian.
