Bondage Tape Alternative?

I've never used bondage tape, but I have thought up with an alternative, and was wondering if anyone else used this/has attempted to use it. A bit of a back story I ended up tearing my calf, and the only thing I could do to help it along was tape it, and it was suggested that I used Vetwrap. For those unaccustomed to it, its a latex free (typically at least) ace-bandage type material, but it sticks to itself (like bondage tape) and only to itself. It can be stretched, but it has a definite limit to its stretchiness. It's typically used for wrapping injuries/ horses shins. I found mine at my local farmers supply (why there is a farmer supply in suburban Dallas, I don't know) for 3/4 dollars. it has a rough texture to it, but I've found that it works quite nicely for light bondage play.

I've never considered finding an alternative to bondage tape... because I don't see a problem with it :D Were you just looking for a cheaper alternative?

i see what u mean with the vetwrap, would be a bit more breathable too, careful tho as it is so stretchy, think of your circulation as you are being bound!!

Vetwrap is marvelous! A little harder to save and re-use than bondage tape, but truly awesome stuff, if you don't love the sweatiness of bondage tape especially.

Always have your EMT shears!

It just has a different feel, mostly. And the color range you can get it in makes for some awesome ooo it's pink! mummifications.

I've used it before, though not for bondage. It's really good stuff.

Note - Haven't used it for bondage simply because I don't currently have any. I've thought about it, just haven't had access like I used to.

Part of it is that I have a sight latex allergy (nothing to write home about, but don't want it to get worse) and the other part that it is cheaper then most tapes.

So I take it you're quite familiar with using it Netzach?

Besides farmmer supply shops, I've also seen it at horse tackle shops and occasionally at a local pharmacy (not at any of the chain stores though). So if you have an independent pharmacy you might try there.

You people LIKE bondage tape? Man, that shit was a pain in my ass.

You just have to be careful on the binding part with ACE, not too tight..

I've been thinking recently on athletic tape, there's almost no stretch to it, and it's fabric, and you can make it really smooth... it's the getting off part, I don't like.

Please be careful

I work in a vet's office and one thing we are very careful of is to make sure the vetwrap isn't too tight. I have seen it constrict down and cut off circulation necessitating amputation of body parts. Granted this is usually over more than a few hours, but it also has cast padding under it for padding. I understand the joy of tight restraints, but possibly loosing body parts due to lack of circulation is not my idea of a good time.

I go by the "fingers comfortably underneath it" guideline, generally. So far so good, common sense.

One of the least expensive alternatives to bondage tape is decidedly plain in appearance and even more decidedly cheap in price. Go to your local Ace Hardware or suitable alternative and next to the display of clothesline rope and such you'll find 2-inch wide plastic twine in rolls of up to a few hundred feet for well under $10.

Saran-wrap can be surprisingly versatile in most of the same situations mentioned here. The main issue is breathability and EMT shears are a must but the moldability and affordability make it a worthwhile addition to the toy box.

Interesting finding, but can't see the point especially if it's just for light bondage play. If it's a price issue, then i'll stick to belts and ropes because unlike tapes, i can use them over and over again.

Um...you don't shove it up your ass, sweetie. That might be why you don't like it.

Well, you could shove it up your ass, I guess. Who am I to judge?
