Ward looked at his watch again, she was late, he never should have trusted her when she said she would meet him there, he sighed and pulled off the jacket of his school uniform and tossed it on to the couch of his ‘humble’ student accommodations, a lavish penthouse that movie stars wished they could afford. It may not help with the normal student disguise he was trying to maintain, but the dark father would have nothing but the best for his little girl.

“Ah fuck” he said as his head dropped “I guess I’ll have to go get her” he walked from the lounge room to a discrete door in the corner, that if you looked at long enough, you would realise that it would open in to a sheer drop down out the side of the building, but when he causally opened it and stepped through, there was a room beyond, his room in hell.

He quickly left there and went to the next door along, his fist quickly banging upon it “Hey! You in there?” he banged on the door again “come on Bella, we’re gonna be late if we don’t leave now, your dad will kill me if you’re late on the first day”

Etoile

She alighted in the immaculately tended gardens of Ashdown Academy as the sun rose. The birds, insects and small animals in the vicinity had no fear of her. Etoile smiled at the dawning day and carried her books towards the library. This was her final year at the Academy, her last chance to prove her worth to both her paternal father and the Lord God who governed all... well... almost all... everything that counted anyway.

Etoile wore long robes that were the pale blue of a summer sky. Her long, white-blonde hair fell down her back in a golden curtain and the halo of light around her lit her beautiful features, radiating from her as though she was the daughter of the sun. An ornate silver cross hung around her slender neck and her white wings were folded behind her back.

Her father's warnings still rang in her ears. Nuitvide, the hellspawn Prince of Lies was actually to be attending class this semester, though Etoile hoped and expected that he simply would not bother. Stories abounded about him, most of which Etoile had absolutely refused to listen to. She refused to gossip and knew that the more credit she gave his outrageous reputation, the greater an advantage he would have over her and her kind. At the moment it seemed he was enjoying his adolescence, letting his feral urges govern pretty much everything he did. Etoile imagined that he must be a base creature indeed. Like a spoiled child, he took what he wanted and gave no thought whatsoever to the consequences for himself or anyone else. She did not need warning in order to avoid him and his poisonous influence.

Belladonna had had a fantastic idea when it came to the day she was supposed to go to the human world for schooling. While her father was distracted and her bodyguard was busy getting things ready for their arrival on Earth, she was going to use the almost impossible to get time alone to break her father's rule. Sure she said she'd meet Ward before school, but who could blame a succubus for trying to have sex. She had figured this would be the perfect time to get what she wanted. What she hadn't counted on was the 'lucky' suitor being late, therefore making her late and putting them in the position they were in now. Just barely getting to the good part when Ward knocked on the door.

Knowing that he could probably hear whatever was going on in the room, both parties scrambled about trying to hide what they had been trying to do. The thumps and muttered curses leaving little doubt of what was going on. Bella rushed to the door as she struggled to hook her bra and keep from stumbling as she gestured on handed to a hiding spot. Breathlessly, she yanked the door open and smiled slightly up at her guard. "I need another minute, I overslept," she lied smoothly as she turned her attention to buttoning her shirt.

Chances were he knew what had been going on, but she couldn't really bring herself to care. Today they were going to the human world, and wouldn't be back here for a while. There would be so many more chances to break her fathers rules, and if she had her way Ward would be one of the ones to break this one with. "I just need to finish getting ready and grab my bag." If he had shown up an hour ago, she would have been completely ready to go. Damn people who couldn't show up on time to a rendezvous. Bella had known she should have picked one of those who hadn't been so cocky about her attentions.

Leaving the door open as she moved back into the room, she walked over to a chair and picked up the skirt she had dropped there only minutes before. Bella knew that if she had closed the door Ward would have been even more suspicious than her probably already was. Sighing softly, the princess of Hell redressed with a sense of failure.

Ah Ward, trusty dependable Made man. Or Demon. Pounding on a royal door, and was that desperation creeping in? Of course not; Ward, wasn't programmed for that. Nuitvide phased, his body appearing holding the key to the door of Bella's room.

"You know he really will kill him." Nuitvide's tone was mocking and easily heard by both Bella and Ward, but he still wasn't actually present. "Just pick him up and pluck his arms and legs off one by one, Like the tormentors do with damned souls, or the damned souls used to do with spiders. It would probably be highly entertaining. Of course when Ward got back up he'd likely be very angry with you for causing it and me for laughing and laughing and laughing..."

He left his voice to keep going, the echo of his words whispered directly into Ward's ear. It wasn't smart to do that, and more than a little mean, But ti didn't matter, Nuitvide was called Emp for more than the translation of his name Empty Night. He was also highly empathic, and more than Ward's anger, Emp knew what Bella had been doing, and that she'd need another minute before she opened the door.

Besides How could he fault someone part Succubus for attempting to get laid? It was a major part of what they did and who they were. If Emp didn't get his wick dipped at least once a day he got cranky. Being forbidden only made it twice as likely he'd want some nookie. A shame though she wouldn't move down a single level to find him, instead of whatever failed encounter she ahd planned.

He grinned widely, like the Cheshire cat, before moving himself into Bella's Room as she opened the door. His grin widened even further when he saw her dressing, and again as he saw her failed companion. Gripping the unfortunate, He drew down sinking them through the floor and leaving them in a small closet.

"Be good and I'll send someone to get you, Be bad and I'll send someone of the guards to come get you."

As he vanished entirely he left only a single rose red apple on Belladonna's nightstand. She'd know the drill, and they could talk about it, in the first day of classes. Weren't assemblies grand?

It was a good day, she had arranged for it to be one, the sun was shining, just the right amount of clouds in the sky, zero chance of rain, perfect, just the way she wanted it.

She was the headmistress, all of Ashdown was her domain, within its walls neither Satan nor God could overrule her, and on this particular morning she was sitting in the gardens, enjoying a nice cup of tea before the day began. The first day was always trouble, the new angels and demons always had a period of adjustment while they learned the rules, and it was allot of work keeping the humans that came to the school in one piece.

She stood up once she had finished her drink and walked out of the little grove she was hidden away in, moving in the direction of the library. She saw Etoile walking along ahead of her and sighed, the angels never meant to, but they broke rules almost as often as the demons of the school. “Etoile” she announced herself as she drew closer so that she would stop and allow her to catch up.

“I know that the campus will be human free for another hour, but the rules are the rules my dear” she stopped in front of her, a pleasant smile on her face “So you’ll have to hide away those pretty little wings of yours”

*********************************

Ward felt Emps presence, and it immediately put him on edge, he could barely count the number of times that he had to be reminded of just how off limits Bella was, but he knew it wasn’t him that was in the room with her, so he did his best to ignore him, he was on a time limit here. The door finally opened, a somewhat dishevelled Bella looking up at him from the other side "I need another minute, I overslept,"

“Oh, is that what we’re calling it now?” he muttered under his breath as she put her clothes back on, his eyes glancing about the room to see if her guest was at least a good hider, he was very lucky he didn’t have time to do his job properly. “You don’t have much more to do do you? We have an assembly to get to”

"I just need to finish getting ready and grab my bag." Ward followed her in to the room, idly conjuring himself up a new jacket for his uniform, such a bother, having to wear a uniform whenever he goes to the academy, at least Bella looked good in hers. “Just hurry up, we’re gonna have to go straight there now, I cleaned the apartment for nothing” he sighed and looked around again, noticing the recent addition to her nightstand, between that and the lack of Emp’s continued presence, it didn’t take much to figure out who had left it, and why Bella’s company had disappeared so well “And check your nightstand before we go, apparently someone’s left something for you”.

Etoile's radiant glow faded. She silently chastised herself for forgetting such a basic rule. After the long summer in the heavenly realm, she had grown accustomed to wearing her wings proudly again. To hide them and make herself look human felt like a disloyalty somehow, as though it suggested there was something wrong with the way that God had made her.

"Of course headmistress, I apologise." Her melodic, trained herald's voice was pitched low.

Etoile closed her eyes for a moment as her wings seemed to melt into the back of her long blue dress and fade away. Beneath her clothing, her skin bore markings that identified her as an angel, to those who knew what they meant.

The headmistress nodded her dismissal and Etoile continued towards the library, feeling oddly vulnerable in her human-like guise. She was still exquisitely beautiful and to the other pupils, it would be obvious what kind of being she was. Etoile entered the library, took a seat and opened a large volume to begin studying. She jotted down notes as she read, her handwriting a neat and pretty cursive.

Bella had learned that ignoring Emp was probably the best way to go at times like these. She knew that he had come in when she opened the door and had taken her unlucky suitor somewhere else. She didn't really care where that was.

"Better to call it that then what it really was," Bella told him softly as she pulled her skirt up over her legs, "Anyways you did your job an stopped it from happening. Father would be proud." Slipping into her shoes, she pulled on her jacket and frowned as Ward spoke. He'd spent his time alone on Earth cleaning...she didn't know what to say about that. Sure she knew that was why he had gone up there and left her here, but few demons would have spent their time actually doing it. Maybe that was why her father had liked Ward from the moment he was conjured.

Shaking her head slightly, she focused on her night stand and sighed softly. She picked up the apple and put it into her bag. Now she owed him something...this day was just getting better and better. "I'm ready," she said with a glance at Ward, "Are you still mad at me?" Bella couldn't help the question as it spilled out of her mouth. She hated it when Ward was upset with her, which wasn't very often, but today she had ruined part of his plans. It would have been understandable for him to hold a grudge against her at this point. This wasn't the first time she had put him in a position like this.

Ward disliked this part of his job, he like protecting Bella, he loved that part, and he never had any problems with enforcing her father rule about her and boys, but looking her in the eye afterward was the worst part, it wasn’t her fault, he wasn’t even a sex based demon and he needed a some fun every now and again or he would get a craving, he could only imagine how bad it was for her sometimes.

“I’m not angry at you” Ward said, shoving his hands in to his jacket pockets “I never am, you know that” it was true, there were very few times she had managed to actually get him good and angry “let’s just go, I can show you the apartment after your classes are over” he pulled one hand from his pockets and waved it behind him, rather casually summoning a portal in to existence.

“You first” he said, standing out of the way and gesturing for her to go through the portal “I’m not giving you a second chance to run off and have some fun without me”

"Oh it looks like they've abandoned you here, in hell." Emp smiled at the now scared shitless Mephit Bella had brought here. "You know you're not supposed to be caught, and I'd help yopu but I'm going to be late for school, and as telented and impressive as I am, I'm not the kind who can just rip portals into the human world at will. We've got to be summoned or find a door, So Ciao! Chow." He smiled as he opened the door into the royal halls. Grinning demonically. "This little shitstain I think has been sneaking about into here, Or Balrog's? Aren't you doing your job?"

He skipped away as the sound of bones crunching and flesh searing filled the hall, it was a bad end, but if he had gotten to actually get close enough to do something with Bella? well then it was for the best his life ended here. How else would he ever be able to have an experience that topped boffing Satan's daughter? Smiling and laughing he joined the queue heading to Ashdown.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assembly day. How boring, And he had to attend this place? He couldn't steal cars, fuck heiress' and blow money until the wee hours of the morning. I bet they probably wanted him to stay in the campus dormitories as well. And all to stay in Daddy's good graces, so the Prince of Lies could keep his political clout. If it wasn't so Damned convenient to have that clout and favour Nuitvide would probably tell his father to suck his own tail. But as it was he'd graduate this year. How hard could it be to keep good marks and still have fun? All he needed to do was bully some mortal, or corrupt some goody two shoes angel into doing it for him. And who knew It might even be some amount fo fun bringing them down.

He stopped before the assembly looking in the library at the lists, who had the Highest marks throughout the school. Etoile? Star? Who was that? A french girl? They had the most delightful tongues. The registry would help as soon as he found it, and smooth talked his way into a mentoring program ideal. Etoile was an angel, Soon to be Herald, a speaker of the One True God. Oh this would not merely be fun but a challenge. Tracking located her in the library, oh the use of the school's security systems. Like Magic or some such. Finally he stood near her watching her read , the golden sheafs of her hair tumbling down her body, her glow subsided just like his aura had to be contained.

"Starlight, Star bright?" He approached her confidently a smile on his face and a deep rich red apple, completely without trickery in his hand. "The first Star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight." He sat across from her his empty hand falling to cover Etoile's. "Hello little star, I'm Nuitvide, you may have heard of me. Now don't run little brilliance. I'm actually here for a good reason, you see I've been enrolled in a kind of honours and exchange program, fully certified by the school, To promote understanding between important factions. Wouldn't it be wonderful if here in the school, such important people like you and me were able to see how the other works and operates."

His hand burned but his smile didn't waver, Illusion took care of the evidence the dead smell of musty pages overpowering the cook of his palm, and the sensation of his cool hand never shifted, Nor did it smoke. No evidence existed that he was lying to her, or at least none of it reached her as Nuitvide played his tricks, upon the slightly unguarded angelic being. "You see. Truth, no burns. I couldn't lie to such an angel as yourself without burns, you know the wholly unfair deal your creator forced upon us that he didn't make. None can lie to a herald without suffering. So you can trust me today, I have found you as a partner this year, so you can call me Emp, It's less of a mouthful for you." He rose leaving the apple behind.

"I brought a peace offering, enjoy it, they're very sweet, much like Imagine you are. So what would you like me to call you? Starlight, Shine, Or simply Etoile?"

"Starlight, Star bright? The first Star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight."

Etoile lifted her head from her book and looked across at the confident young man across from her in his immaculate suit. Energy crackled in the air between them. As polar opposites, such good and evil were not designed to be in such close proximity. Etoile, whose holy aura was always so open, found herself emotionally closing herself off from this man reflexively, as a human might lift her hands to counter a physical blow.

But he had not struck. He simply smiled at her and placed an apple on the desk. How quaint. The age old symbol of temptation. Etoile forced herself to look up from the fruit and meet his gaze. She knew who he must be before he spoke, for she knew all the other students who were her own age, having studied alongside them for years. His hand covered her own and Etoile's tensed at his touch. She resisted the impulse to pull away.

His gaze was predatory. Etoile had received many such looks before but never with the arrogant assurance that Nuitvide possessed. She flushed under his scrutiny and dropped her eyes to his hand upon hers. Nuitvide guessed her thoughts.

"You see. Truth, no burns. I couldn't lie to such an angel as yourself without burns, you know the wholly unfair deal your creator forced upon us that he didn't make. None can lie to a herald without suffering. So you can trust me today, I have found you as a partner this year, so you can call me Emp, It's less of a mouthful for you."

Etoile bristled at his criticism of God. She tried to pull together her scattered wits but the truth was that he was mesmerising. She had never been in the presence of such unadulterated evil before and just her knowledge of the things he had done if even half the rumours were true was enough to make him morbidly compelling. How could he do such things and then approach a creature like her with such audacity? He rose and she lifted her eyes to meet his gaze, more out of politeness than anything else.

"I brought a peace offering, enjoy it, they're very sweet, much like Imagine you are. So what would you like me to call you? Starlight, Shine, Or simply Etoile?"

As a herald, Etoile could speak all the languages of men, as well as many of the ancient and long forgotten ones. French was perhaps her favourite modern tongue. Nuitvide's arrogance was beginning to really get to her though. Etoile finally found her voice.

"What you mean is that you haven't bothered to attend classes and so you need someone to help you make up what you have missed or you won't graduate." She replied. "I am not going to reward your laziness with the fruits of my labour and I have absolutely no desire to observe how you 'work or 'operate.' The rumours are unpalatable enough for me." Beneath the desk, Etoile crossed her legs protectively. She looked up at the clock on the wall.

"It is time for the assembly."

Etoile gathered her books and walked away, not even daring to touch the apple in order to throw it in the bin. She had a wild urge to run from Nuitvide but settled for walking briskly down the hall.

Bella smiled as he told her that he wasn't upset with her. She had to admit that she liked when he wasn't upset with her, he was much more fun that way. And knowing that he was going to be fun until the next time she did something, she led the way through the portal that Ward summoned. It wasn't something that Bella had learned just yet. If she'd known how she would rarely be where they thought she was at night.

Stepping on on the human world, Bella squinted in the bright sunlight. She was used to the dimness that was Hell. "Is it always so bright?" she wondered out loud as she waited for Ward. It was her first time to the human world and she couldn't keep from looking around in amazement at the things she saw. No wonder so many demons ended up hunting for souls up here, she thought to herself.

Otsuge was excited to finally be entering Ashdown Academy. It was just delightlfully tasteful place for an angel of her talents to be located. Some would refer to this dark haired beauty as a muse throughout history especially in the greek and roman times. Many wouldn't realize that her mother had actually been one of the muses herself before she had grown bored with the times and had moved to Japan which she had found interesting for a time. That's where her father had met her mother and she was the result.

Now Otsuge was seen in some ways as an oracle to the Japanese people she had come into contact with in her childhood, but that was usually when she had escaped into the real world which she wasn't supposed to do. Now being at Ashdown Academy she would get to be around humans and even demons on a regular basis and this excited her. What kinds of beautiful artforms would she be able to inspire. Maybe she would get lucky and inspire some of the greatest works in history like her mother did.

She walked inside the building towards the assembly hall where she knew they were going to have things explained to them and she just smiled a smile that would bring lucifer himself to his knees to get another look at it.

"It is time for the assembly."

Coolly and smoothly she brushed him off, sweeping her books under one arm and doing an appreciable impression of a storm cloud as she walked off. She even managed to make politely tucking her chair back in an angry seeming thing. He smiled, as she left the apple, too scared to touch it. He could feel it radiating from her, fear, apprehension, and want. She was so curious, even when she tried to deny it, she couldn't keep the quaver from her voice. He teleported his powers more than capable of letting him do so on the mortal plane until he was walking backwards in front of her.

"Oh Starshine you don't really want to walk away mad. Anger is a deadly sin. Oh so deadly, Or is it just wrath? I forget, I'm such a fan of pride. And now you've hurt mine. I'm being honest here. All the cards on the table, I'm not looking to ride your wingtips, just offer you a view into a world you may not understand. And how are you to help judge fairly if you won't give me a chance."

His smile almost ate his ears as he produced another apple. His clothes shifted to a white suit, and he took his Hat off Kneeling on front of her. "You know I'm not lying. I just want to get to know the nicer side of life, I'm sorry for a lot of the things I did, and I want to see the lighter path. Heavy is my burden and I thought that infinite mercy and compassion was a calling card of your Fathers."

He frowned as he held up the apple. "No tricks, No illusions, What you see is what you get Etoile." It of course wasn't but how was she to know, did they even have lies in heaven? "So won't you give me a chance to present my case. Who knows, you might even like it a little." He smiled again his mouth flipping as quickly as it dropped. His arms spread wide like a bow to her and he bent low almost as if he'd kiss her foot. "But there is an assembly so i'll be on my way for now." He dropped through the floor and with an effort brought himself to the assembly hall, dressed in proper uniform again. He'd be receiving another written warning for use of magic on school grounds against an angel, but it was just so much toilet paper to him. Even if he didn't actually need to defecate, he found the idea of wiping his ass with written warnings so appealing.

Soon it was in motion, another speech from the headmistress of the school. That was another piece he'd like to play about with, but SHE was almost certainly off limits. He knew who kept neutrality here, and Nuitvide had no intention of becoming a grease spot. Still though, there were rumours. He sat through the usual glad handing, the history of the school for new students, was there ever anything new in this? And began mentally undressing Etoile in his mind, projecting the sweet image of her on her knees, wings tied back, and naked, with her halo as a choker, sucking on his shaft. It would likely be lost in the sea of thoughts, there were so many mortals and succubi and other tempters here, so many muses firing Ideas and creations, that it would be impossible to trace to him, but it was most certainly her on her knees, and in his mind she was smiling while she did it.

Ward mirrored Bellas smile, it was always good to see her smile, then he followed behind her, pausing long enough to make the rose left on her nightstand to crumble away to dust before stepping through the portal that disappeared behind him. “No, it’s much better at night, everything isn’t so annoyingly bright” he answered with an annoyed look at the sun “don’t worry, you get used to it quick” he walked up beside her and took her bag “now come on, we need to hurry up, we’re already late”

He led her quickly to the Assembly hall, the two of them sneaking in the back like a pair of delinquents and quickly taking a seat in the mostly empty hall, only a third of the students were angels or demons, and all the humans were absent. The Headmistress walked up to the front of the stage just as the two of them took their seat, a full 4 minutes late, first time in years that the assembly had ever started late.

The speech was long and practiced, if anyone ever bothered to check, they would realise that it was almost completely identical to the last time, a mention of the history, a brief explanation of the rules, the only difference is this time she made a point of reminding everyone that human form was to maintained at all time, and that the uniform was mandatory, judging by the amount of people in the crowd who weren’t following those rules so far, it was easy to tell why. After that there were just a few announcements from the other teachers, things about classes, support services, a more formal reading of the rules, then they were dismissed, and told that the humans would be arriving within 20 minutes.

“Well, that was fun” Ward commented as he stood up and looked to Bella “What do you want to do now?”

Bella followed him quietly to the auditorium, trusting him to keep her safe as she gazed around. She found that he was right about getting used the brightness quickly, but she was glad to get out of the sun and into the auditorium. Finding seats was an easy thing to do, so Bella just relaxed as they sat down and settled in for the speech.

The speech itself was long but to the point as well. It wasn't until she heard about keeping a human appearance at all times that she realized that most of those in the room weren't. She was so used to what she was seeing that she hadn't even thought of it. Luckily for her, she looked human already, well except for the horn but she usually hid them anyways. If for no other reason than to keep up the practice for this very moment. As the speech came to an end, many of the students milled about and got ready to leave.

“Well, that was fun. What do you want to do now?”

Bella looked up at him and then stood as well. What did she want to do now? That was a good question. "How long till classes start? I was thinking maybe we could check out the campus," she said as she continued to look up at him. It seemed like as good of an idea as any.

“Check out the campus huh? Sounds like fun, it’s a little too big for one trip though” Ward thought about where to start, the gardens were nice, and she wouldn’t have seen anything like them, but admiring a garden didn’t really strike him as something she would enjoy doing. His contemplation was wasted though, as he looked towards the stage he met the Headmistresses eye, and she smiled.

“Never mind that” he said with a sigh there’s something we have to do first “the Headmistress wants to see us first” he turned back to Bella and smiled “don’t worry, I’ll give you the grand tour some other time, and it’s not like she’s gonna bite our heads off”

Otsuge really wasn't interested in the Assembly it was boring and all about rules. Just because there was rules didn't make things good or bad rules were nothing more then a means of power a way to control things. Things that were controlled became stagnant and artforms never blossomed in those kinds of environments.

She really wasn't one to personally cause choas or break rules to break rules though because that wasn't her nature though when someone else did was it her fault that she found the beauty in such things and tried to make the best of it and inspire others to do something great, whether it ends up them becoming a legend that is passed down and eventually becomes a book or an old wives tale, or a painting, or immortalized in a song, all these things are what she found precious. When mere humans became something more something that was immortal long after their flesh has turned to dust.

Otsuge walked past a big demon and a very looking human girl that she could only guess who she was but her dark taint was strong but she could sense a kindred soul just like herself in this demon girl. She smiled as she moved on shifting her wings to no longer appear as she smoothed out her school skirt that was much shorter then was allowed to be but she thought it looked good and maybe just maybe one of the human students would take notice in her or even one of the demons and she could inspire them in some way.

Bella looked over at Ward's words and nodded her head slightly. "What do you think she wants?" she asked softly as she stepped into the aisle. Her gaze shifted to Ward, she wondered briefly how he had known she'd wanted to see them, but didn't question it. Ward always seemed to know things that she didn't understand how he knew. How else would he be so good at spoiling most of her plans? She was practically a virgin because of him and her father's stupid rules.

She refused to dwell on it as they made their way to the woman in question. The girl noted the angel that smiled slightly as she passed them. Smiled, like she saw something that she approved of somewhat. Bella really didn't get why she wanted to see headmistress. Maybe to say something about them being late, or to ensure that she'd be following the rules while she was here. Either way it was best to get it over with now.

A lone student was seen laying down on a wooden bench with his right arm over his face. A book bag was next to the bench with a black cane resting on it. He was early and had yet to seen anyother students out and about.

"My first day back to school and my leg is bothering me" the man replied with a sigh as he removed his hand and stared up into the sky. He didn't care for his new school uniform it showed he was part of the studnet councile how that happen he didn't know.

" I guess better get to that student councile meeting to see what is going on" He added as he slowly got up. The man quickly pick the bag up and placed it over one shoulder and took the cane in his right hand and procceded to make his way to the meeting.

As he made his way into the school he could see a few students out and about, most of them seemed to looking around the school to get a feel for the place before classes start.

Etoie tried to ignore him, keeping her gaze fixed on some point beyond the demon in front of her. He still exuded confidence, despite just having been curtly brushed off in the library.

"I don't need to understand it." She replied, not entirely successfully keeping the annoyance out of her tone. "I trust my God and he has instructed me to avoid it. You don't have to leap from a precipice in order to know there's a painful death at the bottom. And it is not given to my kind to judge, that is God's privilege alone. Why don't you go and ask Him for the insight you allegedly crave?"

He smiled broadly, as though she had said something amusing. Nuitvide's clothes became white, a parody of purity that he didn't possess. He stopped in front of her, holding out another apple and kneeling in front of her. Etoile fought the urge to flounce past him, watching his display impatiently.

"You know I'm not lying. I just want to get to know the nicer side of life, I'm sorry for a lot of the things I did, and I want to see the lighter path. Heavy is my burden and I thought that infinite mercy and compassion was a calling card of your Fathers."

His face was a picture of contrition and had he not been so flamboyant in this confession, Etoile might have given it some credence. The Prince of Lies must have a great deal of expectation placed upon him to be evil incarnate, just as Jesus had a duty to faultlessly serve his father and commit no sin. Perhaps, despite his parentage, Nuitvide could have been a very different being if he had received a more wholesome upbringing. It was an interesting notion, one Etoile could not completely push aside. She wondered who his mother was.

"Perhaps I have not had lessons on infinite mercy and compassion yet." Etoile replied, a teasing note to her tone that surprised even herself. "I still have much to learn... but nothing that you would teach me." She insisted.

He frowned and held up his apple. "No tricks, No illusions, What you see is what you get Etoile. So won't you give me a chance to present my case. Who knows, you might even like it a little." He smiled again his mouth flipping as quickly as it dropped. His arms spread wide like a bow to her and he bent low almost as if he'd kiss her foot. "But there is an assembly so i'll be on my way for now."

"I will pray about you." She replied quietly as Nuitvide disappeared.

In the assembly, Etoile sat with her friends, barely heard the headmistress address the school. She could not stop wondering about Nuitvide. Usually Etoile mentally shielded herself from the buffeting thoughts and emotions swirling around the hall, she found them oppressive. Today though, she hadn't thought to do this. Snatches of other people's internal monologues flitted in and out of her mind and still she did nothing.

Then an image pushed itself to the forefront of her mind with some clarity and Etoile focused on it absently. She was bound and sucking Nuitvide's penis. Worse than that, her expression was one of pleasure. Etoile had never seen a penis and it was a curious looking thing, with heavy testes hanging below it. She found herself flushing and realised that she should have walled the image away immediately instead of allowing herself to become morbidly fascinated. Etoile cast the image from her mind but somehow it remained inside her head, as though it had been branded onto the inside of her skull. She actually shook her head vigorously, as though she could cast out the memory of having looked upon that image by doing so. She felt sullied somehow and resolved to meditate and pray that evening until no trace of the disturbing image remained.

Ward gave the angel that had smiled at Bella a sideways glance, it was rare that an angel ever made a pass at Bella that would necessitate his intervention, it was a shame really, as long as they didn’t get preachy most angels were quite nice. “I’d guess she just wants to say hi” Ward said with a shrug as they made their way to the stage, he hoped that’s all it was “you are royalty remember”

The walk to the stage was quick, most of the other students gave them a wide berth, quiet whispers going between them as the word of who they were looking at went around. Ward led Bella off to a side entrance, the door opening on its own as they got close.

“Welcome” the Headmistress stepped to the side, allowing them in to her office “come in, make yourselves comfortable” she put an arm around Bella’s shoulders and walked her forward, sitting her down in one of the two chairs in front of her desk “It’s not every year we have the pleasure of having someone of your stature attending Ashdown” then sat down herself in the large regal chair on the other side of the desk, practically a throne really.

.He quickly made his way to the classroom in which the student councile were meeting in room 27. He could people talking and laughing from inside of the room.

He slowly and reluecently walked into the room, he really didn't want to go in there but he had to. As he did everyone stopped and looked at him but they soon went back to what they were doing before he walked in.

" Welcome to the student council meeting" A man replied as he walked up to him. " You must be Professor Darkling" he said as he held out his hand . The man was near his age, the way he talked and acted he figured that he came from a wealthy family and one of those popular kids.

“ Professor now that is a strange name” he added “ I’m the president of the student coucil

“ Yes it is that’s why most all me mephisto or Dark” Mephisto replied as he shook the mans hand “ So what is my job exactly” Mephisto asked him as he looked around the room.

“ You will be the sergeant at arms” He said with a smile, The teacher slowly lead him around the place to introduce him to the other members. There was the vice president who was also the president girl friend, there was the treasurer, secretary, fundraising officer, a reporter from the news paper club. And last but not least two representatives from each class.

Mephisto sat through the meeting and kept quite most of the time except when someone asked him a question. which in most case it was about his name. it didn't bother him but at times it was getting old.

The whispered comments didn't really bother Bella as they walked towards the headmistress. Sure she might have wanted to be more low profile at the school for a while, but it was for the best that everyone knew who she was right off the bat. It wasn't like she knew how to be anything other than royalty anyways. Being who she was, she wasn't concerned when the door opened on its own and simply walked in.

“Welcome. Come in, make yourselves comfortable. It’s not every year we have the pleasure of having someone of your stature attending Ashdown.””

"Thank you," Bella said as the woman led her to a seat. She sat down quietly and watched the woman as she moved behind her desk. "My father was adamant about me learning all I needed here," she told the headmistress politely, He knows how important a good education is." And of course, every demon or angel must attend, but even if that wasn't the rule he would have sent her here. If for no other reason than to get her away from her suitors for a few months.

The speech droned and even Nuitvide began to realize he'd been in this spot before hearing the exact same rules. The completely human form was a new thing, but hell it wasn't like anyone ever really saw his claws, and teeth. And completely human still let him use whatever disguise he wanted to. Though the uniform rule sucked complete ass. He'd have to flaunt that as often as possible.

Eventually the assembly ended and he popped to his feet, moving for the door. This whole follow the rules and respect and attend school, and the stubborn little angel were giving him an incredibly foul mood, and he planned on taking it out on the first little meat puppet he found. He was about to walk through the Hall doors when the most delicious image came to his mind. Etoile on her knees, sucking his cock. It was picked up and sent out again, and again. It seemed almost half the assembled demons and even a few of the muses were swapping the image back and forth. Almost like a dirty photograph or a particularly good joke. It seemed more than a few people would like to see Miss High and Mighty knocked off her pedestal. Nuitvide smiled. If there had ever been any doubt in his choice of victim this year, there was now none. Etoile was the perfect piece of ass for him. Smart pretty, so popular that people could dislike her while they idolized her, and prime for a fall.

It would be such a glorious challenge. He stopped in the rectory, and looked at which room Etoile had. She was sharing a room? How precious. How noble. How stupid. His name went right next to hers on shared accommodations, and a minor glamour assured that his name and hers would be drawn together for pairings. Finally he stopped and went to the room he knew she would be drawing. There, he waited. Spread cleanly and clearly across both beds, that he had pushed together. An apple waiting on the desk, for her to arrive.

Etoile walked to the rectory to see where she would be rooming. It always took her some time to adjust to walking everywhere like a human and to begin with, she always found it a little tedious. She greeted friends as she went but apart from those she knew and trusted, who were also angels, she did not go out of her way to greet anyone else. It was not from a desire to remain aloof, though many uncharitably assumed so, merely that she was still mortified by the image of her that had been circulating the assembly. She did not know who had been passing it around, only that it had flitted all over the damn hall, which meant a lot of people had relished it, giving no thought to the upset and embarrassment it would cause her. She didn't need to be omniscient to know who the image had been dreamed up by. From the predatory way he had looked upon her, it was clear that Nuitvide desired such a sordid encounter and only he would be so utterly uncouth as to reduce her to a dirty, locker-room style joke.

Anyone who saw Etoile pacing the halls determinedly would have been forgiven for thinking that the perfectly formed angel with the white-blonde hair and wide, innocent blue eyes was utterly livid. It was doubtful that she had ever worn such an expression of suppressed rage.

"Oh this is stupid." She chided herself silently, speaking to her creator at the same time. "He is trying to goad me and I am letting him succeed."

Etoile was beginning to feel far more in awe of the 40 days and 40 nights that Jesus had spend stuck in a wilderness on Earth as a mortal man, being tempted by the devil. This was Nuitvide's first day here and already he had her hackles raised like a scalded cat. A month or more of his company would be hell indeed and it wasn't even as though he was in line for the top job. Satan's daughter was supposed to be attending this year as well.

Etoile pushed his mocking smile from her head with a huge force of will. She endeavoured to regain her equilibrium, ignoring the sniggers of the students she passed. At this rate, by the time she graduated she would have an entirely different destiny as a martyr.

She reached the room she had been assigned to. It was at the end of the hall. She did not even care much who she was to be assigned with, only that somebody was there to distract her from dwelling on the infernal prince of lies. She opened the door and strode in.

"Very funny." She snapped on seeing Nuitvide lounging across the beds. Etoile stepped backwards into the doorway, not wanting to end up trapped in there alone with him. "It's never going to happen, your deceitfulness. Now take your apple and leave."
