Friday, Feb. 14

Alex had told his clients not to call him. They shouldn't have to of course. He had completed the plans for the shopping mall that the real estate developers that had hired him hoped would reinvigorate the most run-down and decaying part of downtown. He had delivered the plans last week and had been paid quite handsomely for them, but the developers were in a zoning battle with the people who currently lived in the run-down decaying tenements and they said they may need revisions to the plans immediately.

But he and his wife, Miranda, had fought hard to free themselves of any work obligations for this weekend to welcome Jennifer to their home. So Alex had unplugged the phone in his office and locked the door.

Then he set about with his plans for making the weekend and most importantly this first night, perfect. He showered and dressed in the slacks and navy blue shirt Miranda had chosen for him (His wife was the one with any semblance of fashion sense). He then went out and picked up the presents he had picked out weeks before for the girls using the money the developers had given him for the shopping mall plans. Miranda may be upset when she finds out of him using so much of his commision tonight, but he doubted she'd be unhappy with what he was spending it on. Finally he visited a local market and picked up the ingredients for the meal he would make that evening.

Once back in their apartment he set to work cooking. There was a time in his life where he had considered becoming a chef, but the restaurant and cooking for more than just fun world was just too stressful for him. So he only cooked for special occasions, which tonight definately qualified as. An hour and a half later his Salmon fillets with vegetable medley doused with white wine and lemon juice enclosed in parchment paper pouches to trap in and steam the fillet and veggies with their own flavors were in the oven. His chocolate mousse was coming along and the fruit to go along with it were cut and chilling in an icebath for his parfait.

Evening was coming, and it wouldn't be long before Miranda would get back from work at the radio station, and Jennifer would be arriving. Alex hoped the young woman would be able to follow the directions to the building he'd e-mailed her.

He began setting the table. Three dishes on a circular table and three candles in the center. He placed the boxes containing the lingerie from Victoria's Secret(a pink babydoll for Jennifer and a red camisole for Miranda) Atop that he placed the jewelry cases from Kay's (a platinum bracelet for Jennifer with three hearts of their birthstones and a black pearl necklace with three ruby hearts in the center) Finally he topped it off with one red rose for each of them. He lit the candles and turned on the stereo in the living room nodding appreciatively as the soft romantic jazz music came out of the speakers.

He returned to the kitchen applying the finishing touches to the supper he had made, and waited for the first of his two ladies to arrive.

To say the least, she wasn't terribly sure what to expect out of the couple. Alex had told her to be there around seven PM, and here she was, quarter til, sitting silently in her car. Night was quickly approaching, and her eyes watched as clouds rolled in. She hoped her night wouldn't be as ominous as the weather was turning out to be.

Sighing softly, Jennifer stood from her car, dropping her keys into her purse. She was looking forward to tonight; had been since the three of them had set this up in the first place. She still couldn't shake this anxious feeling though. She had talked to the couple through e-mails and on the phone, but never had she seen them face-to-face.

"You're just being silly, Jen." She whispered quietly to herself as she walked around to the back of her car, gently clicking the trunk open, her fingertips grabbing shakily at her bags. "The worst part is walking through that door." With a satisfied nod, she closed the trunk of the small car.

This wasn't her first experience with more then one partner. She had never been with anyone as serious as this, and usually the threesomes were results of a few drinks being thrown back; but none the less, she had an idea of what was going to happen.

The address that had been given to her by Alexander lead her to a rather tall, pristine building. The condo's, she imagined, were sky high in pricing, and she didn't even want to think about the taxes. She almost felt under-dressed for the occasion, simply walking into the lobby, but, she knew that this was a ridiculous thought. In all honesty though, this was a far stretch from her small apartment smack dab in the center of the city.

As she walked onto the elevator, heels clicking softly on the marble flooring, she nearly dropped the dozen red roses she had brought for Miranda. She knew it was corny, and she was probably over thinking things, but it was Valentines day after all. She really had no idea what to get for Alexander, so, at the expense (or lack there of) of bad taste, she didn't. In the back of her perverse mind, she figured she could make up for it later.

The elevator was stifling, and it seemed to take forever until she was on the floor to the couple's condo. The elevator doors opened almost immediately to what she could only imagine to be the front door, and before she got cold feet and fled back down the hall and to her car, she knocked gingerly on the door, flinching lightly, crossing her fingers as she took one last look over herself. Black skirt, black button down shirt, heels, and thigh high stockings. Nothing fancy; but she figured it was enough to intrigue.

Before she could start sprinting down the stairs, she heard the bolts and locks turning from the other side of the door. Her heart raced, and a light blush flushed her cheeks as her breath caught in her chest. She couldn't remember the last time she felt this nervous.

"And we come to another end of day and another end to the 'The Dr. Hart hour'. Join us next week when we explore the world of not only loving your significant other but also being 'in' love with them. Until then, Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and remember, Love will always lead the way. Goodnight."

Peter, the producer of Miranda's show gave her the clear that they were off the air and she removed her headset then leaned back in her chair. Tonight was the night.

She and Alex were to welcome Jennifer to their home and into their arms. It was both nerveracking and exciting. Miranda really was looking forward to this and she made it a point to have her schedule clear after the show so she could make it home early--or at least on time. She wanted to change into something more personal and was anxious to leave her professional image at work for the weekend.

The cab ride home provided Miranda more time to think. She loved Alex, she really did. But things lately haven't been as great as they use to be. 'Emotionally disconnected' was going too far, it was more like 'in a lull'. The funny thing was here she was giving out advice on love and relationships when she and her husband were in a lull themselves. Wasn't that called the blind leading the blind?

Miranda refused to think about it during the ride up the elevator and to the front door of their apartment. She unlocked the door and walked in. The aroma of the food hit her as soon as she closed the door behind her, "Hello?!" she called as she headed to the bedroom, "Alex, I'm home, I'm going to change and I'll be right there!"

After a few minutes, Miranda was refreshed as she stepped out of the bedroom and was fastening an earring to her ear. She was dressed in a simple red slip dress that fit her form perfectly. Miranda was proud of keeping her body toned and in shape at this age. She had to look good because of what she did.

"Honey?" she called out for Alex.

There was a knock on the door. Jennifer was finally here, and several months of anticipation suddenly weighed down upon him. His heart was thundering away in his chest. Alexander crossed the condo's floor to open the door for her trying not to feel like a five year old racing downstairs to the presents under the tree on christmas morning. Removing the chainlock and turning the deadbolt. He took a second to breathe and get his excitement under control.

He pulled it open for her. For a second that lasted a lifetime they stood there seeing eachother for the first time in person rather than photographs or the grainy image of a webcam. She was beautiful: young, vibrant, and sexy as hell. He smiled with what he hoped was a suave air, "Hi." He leaned in to give her a breif kiss on her cheek, slightly more than platonic, yet not quite suggestive of anything more.

He saw she was holding a dozen roses in her hand and luggage on the floor around her. "You brought flowers, for Miranda, probably a smart idea on your part. I'll get a vase to put those in, but first let me help you with those bags."

Alex hefted her bags in his arms and led her inside her new home. "We've given you the second bedroom, for the times you need some privacy. Hopefully you won't feel the need for it too often." They stepped inside the bedroom in question. It had a bed, dresser, a door to the bathroom shared with his and Miranda's room, a small TV on top of it, a closet, and a vanity with a chair. Other than those it was spartan, no decorations. Alex put her bags down in front of the dresser. "Me and Miranda left it fairly bare so you could make it out to your tastes."

He looked back over to Jennifer again and couldn't help but smile like that five year old on Christmas morning again. "So, you were able to follow the directions we gave you without getting lost." He shrugged, "All the one-way streets in this area of town can make people unused to the area get a little lost. Even some of the cabbies."

A buzzer from off in the kitchen sounded. "That would be supper." He led her to the kitchen. Grabbing some pot holders he pulled out the baking sheet his parchment bags rested on and set them on their plates on the counter.

He looked back to her, again feeling like that five year old, and noticed she still had the flowers in her hands. "Now we'll get those situated." He retrieved the crystal vase they had gotten from one of Miranda's distant cousins for their wedding. Alex filled it with some water and set it on the kitchen island so Jennifer could put the roses into them.

As she did so her hands brushed his. He smiled at her saying, "Miranda will love them. I'm sure..."

The sound of the door opening interupted what he was saying. Miranda's voice called from the living room. "Hello?! Alex, I'm home, I'm going to change and I'll be right there!"

"We'll have supper set out for you, honey," Alex called even as he heard their bedroom door close behind his wife. He nodded his head towards the rounded dinner table for Jennifer. "I got the two of you presents too. Please don't open them until Miranda comes back out."

With Jennifer's help moving the boxes. He put the plates with parchment pouches atop the chargers, lit the candles, and opened the winecooler. "which do you think, Jennifer, some Champagne or some white wine?"

He poured her choice into glasses and finally put the vase of roses in the center.

"Honey?" Alex turned as he heard his wife's voice and froze as he saw what she was wearing. Her red dress, the red dress. The one she hadn't worn in...well not since Alex couldn't keep his hands off her which sad to say had been more than a while ago. Miranda was looking to rekindle some fires tonight. She had already started stoking a few embers in him as the dress hugged her curves giving each step a sultry and seductive sway.

"Wow," He told her, "You look...ravishing." He pulled out a chair for each of them. "I have Supper ready, and I have presents for each of you." he sat down with Jennifer on one side of him and raised his glass. "Happy valentine's day."

Jennifer felt her heart skip a beat as she heard the deadbolt on the door pop open. Her fingertips squeezed the bottom half of the stems of her roses, all the while thanking herself for getting the thorns removed. The apartment was quiet and quaint, from the outside at least. As soon as the door opened, Jennifer's eyes widened lightly.

To say the least, her blood turned ice cold, and suddenly she felt her spine grow straight and rigid. She swallowed hard, her eyes staring up to the man whom had taken her in. In all honesty she was hoping for his wife instead. Quietly, she exhaled, trying to collect herself as best as she possibly could for the given situation.

As he welcomed her, Alex bent down, his lips gently meeting her cheek. To this, she felt her skin burn with a dark red blush that flushed her visage. For a moment, she had trouble catching her breath and train of thought. Though Alex soon filled in the blank for her, commenting her roses she had brought for his wife. "You don't think they're too silly do you?" She said with a bit of a childish smile, shrugging her shoulders lightly. "I didn't really know what else would be appropriate for this......arrangement." She said the last bit softly, not knowing what on earth she should call it otherwise.

Gently, Alex took her bags from her, walking her to what would be her place of zen. She wasn't imagining that she would be spending too many nights away from either Miranda or him, but she appreciated the gesture.

Her wide, bright eyes looked around the apartment, astonished in the thought of how much this all must have cost. It seemed though that, in the absence of children, the two of them were able to live a more then decent life. "I was actually rather confused for quite a long time, I'm not going to lie." She said with a laugh, biting her lower lip gently as she followed him into the kitchen. "But by all means, I'm no cabbie, and I'm certainly not used to driving around in the city."

Alex produced a vase for the roses that she had been carrying around the entire time, much to her amazement that she hadn't noticed. "Oh! Thank you." She said with a smile, removing the tissue paper that wrapped the roses, walking over to the counter to join Alex, her fingertips tenderly placing the roses in the crystal glass, her fingertips gently brushing against his.

The blush returned to her cheeks, and she cast a sideways glace over to Alex, almost afraid to pull away. Perhaps she was over thinking things. She was sure he didn't notice.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden clamor that was sent throughout the apartment, Jennifer's fingertips and figure quickly stepping away from Alex, who answered Miranda. She knew that Miranda was expecting her; but this whole situation was going to take some getting used to.

As she and Alex waited for Miranda to come back, they set the table, and Alex gave her a few boxes, some for Miranda, some for her. "Alex you really didn't have to..." She said softly, smiling a bit, her fingertips gently picking at the petals of the rose that adorned the top of her pile of gifts. "That's very sweet...thank you."

When Miranda came out, Jennifer's jaw near dropped. Not only did she feel a tad under-dressed, but she couldn't take her eyes off of Miranda; particularly the way the dress framed her curves so delicately. Snapping out of it though, she shook her head, smiling politely, giving a gentle nod. "It's so nice to finally meet you!" She beamed, wondering if it was too forward if she gave her a hug; but quickly decided against doing so.

As they all sat down for supper, curiosity got the best of Jennifer. "Is...it alright if I see what's inside this?" She asked with a bit of a strained laugh, pointing to the boxes. "Patience really isn't one of my virtues."

Miranda could sense that Jennifer was a bit nervous, as was Miranda but she hid it better. Before they sat down to dinner, Miranda reached over to the young woman's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze of ressurance.

Sure Miranda was nervous but she was nervous in a good way. She had a feeling this would all work out for the better. Jennifer was so perfect that Miranda had no doubt she'd fit right in with Miranda and Alex.

Having laughed at Jennifer's statement regarding the gifts, Miranda nodded, "Yes, I agree, let's see what sort of treasure Alex got us shall we?" Miranda reached for her box and slowly took the ribbon off the shiney box. As she set the ribbon aside, Miranda gasped in surprised as she saw the necklace with the three hearts, obiviously representing herself, Alex and of course Jennifer. "Oh Alex, this is too perfect," she told him as she took it out of the box and held it against her neck.

She heard Jennifer gasp also and she looked over to see what the young woman had gotten as her gift....

He opened the parchment paper bag and smelled the scent of his perfectly steamed veggies and salmon fillet. Alex smiled at the two lovely ladies sitting on either side of him. "Bon Apetit girls," He said picking up his fork. He was about to dig in when Jennifer raised one of the gift boxes he had gotten for her.

"Is...it alright if I see what's inside this?" She asked them, "Patience really isn't one of my virtues."

He laughed, "But your dinner will get cold."

"Yes, I agree, let's see what sort of treasure Alex got us shall we," Miranda nodded lifting up the first of the presents he had gotten for her too.

He chuckled, "Fine, fine. Go ahead and see what's inside, ladies." The truth was as anxious as they were to see what he had gotten them Alex was just as anxious to see their reactions when they did open it.

He wasn't too hungry anyway, atleast not exactly for food.

First was Miranda, and Alex treasured the gasp as she laid eyes on the necklace with the three heart-shaped rubies. "Oh Alex, this is too perfect," She took it out and placed it over her neck.

"You look stunning with that on, honey," He said rising to step behind her, "Here let me help you to put it on." He took the necklace's clasps and closed it at the back of her neck so she was now wearing it. "I hope you're not too concerned over how much it cost, hon. It wasn't cheap, but its more than worth it to see how beautiful you are with it on."

Then Jennifer gasped as she opened her present and revealed the platinum bracelet inside.

She was a bit relieved at how kind Miranda was being to her. The woman was absolutely stunning, likewise for her husband, though, Jennifer couldn't keep her eyes pried from Miranda. She felt as if she were moving into some forbidden territory with both Miranda and Alex, and it made her a bit uneasy. Maybe she was being shy, though, she even had to admit this was a bizarre relationship she was being launched into.

Without much of a second thought, Jennifer dove into her gifts. She wasn't expecting much, but as she opened the small jewelry box, her eyes widened in shock. "Alex this is beautiful!" She exclaimed breathlessly, the tender hint of a blush teasing her cheeks as she slipped on the bracelet, smiling contently as she extended her arm, watching it shimmer lightly in the dim candle light.

Her attention turned to the larger box also seated on her lap. Biting her lip gently, she pulled apart the pink ribbon that held the white box closed, and tenderly, as she lifted the cover, she gave a soft, surprised little gasp escape her lips. Holding the baby doll up a bit to get a better look at it, she smiled to Miranda and Alex from across the table. "I knew there was a catch." She said jokingly, a soft laugh escaping her as she set the lingerie back into the box, watching to see what Miranda produced from her box.

Looking to Alex, Jennifer beamed, the blush still lacing her visage lightly. "Thank you so much..." She mused, still a bit taken aback by how hospitable the two of them were being, right off the bat.

Miranda was probably just as nervous as Jennifer, if not more, but the married woman did hide it a lot better. She realized that she still had the other gift to open so she took a quick drink from her wine glass before moving on.

As she opened the gift, Miranda's face only lit up. The first time Alex probably seen light up in this way in a very long time. As she took the top off the box and looked inside, it reavealed a rather skimpy piece of clothing. It had also been a long time since she wore anything like this for Alex, let alone anyone else. It tickled her that tonight she would be showing off her body for someone other than Alex.

"It's beautiful," she said to Alex and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "So," Miranda picked up a fork and began to dig in, "So Jennifer, have you seen the room? I hope you won't be spending too much time in there alone."

Alexander Hart

alex watched intently as Jennifer opened the box and he smiled as she lit up. "Alex this is beautiful!"

"You really like it," He asked, "I had a rough time deciding on it, even with your E-mails helping me on what you liked in Jewelry, Jennifer." He had chosen Miranda's necklace the first moment he had stepped inside the jewelry shoppe, but Jennifer's bracelet had taken an hour to decide on. It was a difficult thing trying to shop for someone you barely knew, and he wanted it to speak to the kind of relationship he wished them to share with her, not as a third wheel, and nothing cheap and tawdry to suggest they wanted her to be nothing more than their live-in whore...no he and Miranda both were firmly set in wanting something more than that from, Jennifer Mathison.

She then opened the other box and when she held up the peice of lingerie he had bought her he blushed a little. Alex hoped he had gotten it in her size.

"I knew there was a catch." She said jokingly.

Alex laughed at that a little nervously.

Together they watched as Miranda opened her second present. Alex was rewarded with seeing his wife's face light up as the box was opened to reveal the red silk camisole inside. "It's beautiful," She exclaimed giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Alright, now that you've opened the presents let's dig in," Alex said that smile never leaving his face, "Hopefully it hasn't gotten too cold yet."

He took his fork and punctured the pouch on his plate letting out the steam that was trapped inside to reveal the salmon and vegetable inside.

"So," Miranda picked up a fork and began to dig in, "So Jennifer, have you seen the room? I hope you won't be spending too much time in there alone."

Alex nodded at his wife's question, "As an architect it was important to me that you have a space of your own in our home, Jennifer, but like Miranda I hope you don't feel the need for that space too often."

Smiling, and thankfully swallowing a still-crisp snow pea, Jennifer nodded in response to the two of them, bashfully letting her fingertips press to her lips as not to speak before she finished. "I did." She said smiling, setting her fork on the plate, folding her hands gently on her lap. "I do like it, but I too hope I won't be spending too much time in that room." She said with a tender laugh, her visage still painted a light shade of pink.

"This is delicious by the way!" She said with a smile, her head tilting gently off to the side as she took another bite, then a sip of water, the ice clinking quietly in the thin glass globe.

Jennifer's eyes kept glancing down to the box at her side, eyeing the small pink garment with something near affection. Her long lashes blinked slowly as she looked over the pair in front of her, her back straightening lightly in some sort of arousal as her mind wandered onto the things that were planned for this evening. Questions started to arouse in the back of her mind. Who liked top? Who would go first? Where would they fuck, and how often?

To say the least her thoughts were starting to wear on her, legs crossing and uncrossing every so often. She even forgot that she was supposed to be eating. The fork fell to the plate with a loud clink, jolting Jennifer from her thoughts. The once pink line that had been teasing at her cheeks now flushed a bright red. It was only then that she realized how eerily quiet it had become, and just how hot and bothered her wandering imagination had gotten her.

Softly, she cleared her throat, standing. Her fish was about half way gone, and the vegetables had been cleared. It was odd, she didn't even remember eating. Smiling sheepishly, she picked up her plate and box, headed for the kitchen. Setting her things gingerly down on the counter, she collected the two pieces of the box a bit more comfortably, smiling to Miranda and Alex. "I think I'm going to go see how this fits!" She said, beaming, just before rushing into her room, heart still slightly pounding. If their trysts were half as exciting as what was running through her mind, she had the feeling that this room would be nothing more then a very large closet...
