Hi,
The frequency of my writing is somewhat sporadic so I do not have a relationship with a regular editor, hence my request.
I am still in the process of writing my current piece The first draft is over halfway (I hope, my stories tend to grow on their own.) complete but even at this early stage some review and guidance would be appreciated.
By preference I would like the editor to be British, female and mature. No xenophobia or bigotry should be inferred by my specification. I have, I believe, good reasons behind my request:
1. I am English and therefore write in British English. I have worked with an American editor in the past, she served my story very well but, transatlantic confusion always exists over spelling, usage and expressions.
2. Much of my story either takes the female POV or concerns female feelings and reactions. I need your advice to correct my stupid male mistakes and misconceptions!
3. The characters are all in their 30's 40's or 50's. The mature perspective would, I think, be more acute than a youthful one in this case.
The story concerns the relationships between a husband, his wife and his mistress. Please note that I use the word mistress in the old fashioned sense not the BDSM sense. The plot is more about characters and relationships than just sex. Although it is not a tale without spice, it is intended to be an erotic story after all.
Like several other of my stories this one is set in France, but unlike the others the protagonists are all French. I hope that I have now lived in France long enough to get a good flavour of the French character. However if there and any French Anglophones reading this your input would be appreciated too.
Lastly, as I am not a frequent visitor to this forum replies by PM would be appreciated as I shall receive automatic e-mail notification. *At the time of writing I cannot remember if a "watch" function also exists here, if so I shall activate that as well.*
