I've used and a cage once and seen them used before at BDSM events that are big enough that the event organizers will have cages among the various types of equipment availble. I think I was locked up in a holding cell over night, but that was a long time ago. I don't think that's what you were meaning, though.
I'm not really into cages, but I can see the attraction. I've got claustrophobia, so things like that don't interest me. But, it does give me an idea on how to keep my next date from slipping out on me, while I'm in the bathroom.

Oh, yeah, they're awesome. In some ways, it's better than bondage because you can't really get away, but you're not stuck in one position, either. It's also particularly good for submission since you can be responsible for holding a position.
