I've been fortunate (that's the best word for such a good memory of it) enough to try this once before years ago with an experienced individual and felt it to be pretty much one of the most sublime things ever. I'm no longer in contact; I was wondering if anyone else enjoyed this kind of sceneplay and what methods/to what extent. Sincerely, I'd like to do it again at some point, but I haven't really been seeking anyone out for it.

Fireplay can be a *lot* of fun with someone who knows what they're doing... and dangerous as hell with someone who doesn't. One key for me is to watch the person set up. If they don't prominently place some form(s) of fire suppression material(s) near the area they'll be performing, they're not going to be doing any fireplay if I have anything at all to say about it. The most experienced and knowledgeable fireplay person I've ever seen - the one I learned most from - *always* had fire suppression measures in place before the first match/lighter came out, and even with all his experience had had occasion to *need* those measures easily and quickly available due to unforeseen occurrences.

That said... yeah, it's fun, it's fantastic, and it's visually very stimulating. For methods, I like firecups as well as (50-70%) alcohol, applied with swabs or firesticks, and flash cotton. To what extent? Whatever turns me and my vic... err, subject on ;)

I teach it! :D I pretty much do it all - streaking, fire cupping, fire batons, cell popping, flash cotton, candle waxing (as opposed to hot pot waxing [which isn't "fire play" technically speaking] , but I do that too). About the only fire play that I don't do regularly is fire flogging, and that's only because I don't have any fire-proof floggers. Yet. I've done it and when I'm working with someone who has one or two I certainly get in practice time! :D
 
She can swallow fire, I assume she can do other things with it, and is wise to the safety parts :)

fire flogging? Never heard of that. How do they work? Seems to me if you had burning liquid it would transfer to the skin.

Typically fire floggers are made with Kevlar. The liquid fuel (usually rubbing alcohol, 70% isopropyl is most common) is absorbed into the fabric, and what is burning is the alcohol vapor. There is some transfer of fuel to skin but normally it is such a small amount and it burns off so quickly that it doesn't harm the skin. In that regard it is much the same as regular "streaking" - that is to say laying down a path of fuel on the skin and then lighting it. Unless someone uses an excessive amount of fuel, you won't burn the skin.

Having done fireplay for several years, I've had a few unintentional ignitions but they've all happened when I had applied fuel directly to the skin in some manner. I've never burned anyone doing fire batons or fire floggers, never transferred excess fuel to the skin of the person I'm playing with in that manner.

Could it happen? I'm sure it could. But then, the element of risk IS part of the excitement, n'est pas?

When learning fireplay I often practiced on myself... the tops of my thighs and the inside of my forearms have been lit up many, many times. In this way I absolutely know how much fuel to lay down, how to time the flames before putting them out, etc. I still do that to knock the rust off for a demo if I have not played with anyone in a while. :-D

If you watch the video... he is striking her back. The flogger is actually passing above the skirt, or only contacting it very, VERY briefly. As we all know, most of the heat rises, so the skirt, unless it got a direct hit with sustained contact, or the skirt absorbed some of the fuel, would be very difficult to ignite.
