Bobsgirl has agreed to be my (and your's too) willing victim for the newest spotlight thread. I rather feel like she's my long-lost older sister, but I'm sure that there are things even I don't know, so I'm looking forward to this thread.

The ground rules:
1. questions or simple comments only. this is not a place to argue with someone, challenge them or attempt to engage in debate. save the arguing for another time.

2. don't be an asshat: don't ask deliberately embarrassing questions, or stuff that treads on the sacred. the purpose is to get someone to open up, not shut down.

3. have fun. try to think of engaging questions that will get someone talking.

4. anyone can ignore or refuse to answer questions they don't like, without explanation.

5. when this thread's run its course, SJ should review the original thread and select any of the people who said they would be willing to be spotlighted.

1. What's your favorite secret indulgence, food-wise?
2. What's your favorite overall secret indulgence?

Older sister -- I like that, Jaede. :rose:

So, little sis, for better or worse, here we go...

1. What's your favorite secret indulgence, food-wise?

I'm tempted to say pizza or chocolate, but those aren't secret. I guess I have to say Lorna Doone shortbread cookies. With those, there is no moderation. Therefore, they are only allowed in the house very rarely.

2. What's your favorite overall secret indulgence?

That's a hard one. I have to give that some thought.

3. How do you paper yourself?

How do I paper myself? I usually start with my feet. From the bottom up works best. ;) If you mean, how do I pamper myself, I am a bath and body creams junkie. I don't use perfume, but I do love a wonderfully scented body lotion.

4. What makes you laugh the hardest?

Real life makes me laugh the hardest -- the absurdly funny stuff that you just can't write. My daughter can make me laugh til I cry. So can my good friend Cathleen.

5. What is the one "simple" thing in life that you take the most pleasure from? My quilts.

6. What's your favorite time of day? Why?

I love very late at night when the house is dark and quiet, except for the TV on low volume and the clicking of the computer keys.

7. What's your favorite season? Why?

I hate being hot and I hate being cold, so I think I'd have to say early fall just as the leaves are starting to turn, and the weather cools off.

bg, how'd you get into BDSM? :>

ed

In a roundabout way, from Lit. Reading stories and focusing more and more on the BDSM section. Talking to a couple of friends -- I learned a lot from both of them.

I feel like I've finally found the part of me that was lost. My participation in this lifestyle may always be in a very limited way, something that saddens me greatly, but in my heart, I am submissive.

LOL. Yes, yes, I meant how do you pamper yourself.

And that is a sign that I've been reading too many student papers, my eyes are crossing, and I need to go to bed.

BTW, I generally find that working from the bottom up also works best when papering oneself.

/Suddenly has visions of church youth camp games involving toilet paper.

Ohhhh...do you have a particular favorite bath and body cream? Brand? Scent?

I love Lorna Doone Shortbread cookies. I swear they are of the devil though. I cannot resist them. In fact, I'm pretty sure I could eat my weight in them.

bg: that explains a great deal. :>

so what are some of your kinks? :D

I like floral scents mostly, and nothing heavy -- the one I like best is gardenia, although I did find some dark chocolate scented cream that smells like you could spread it on one of them Lorna Doones that torment me. ;)

Oh, I think most of my kinks are fairly low on the BDSM sliding scale. Nothing too terribly shocking here. I don't consider myself a masochist other than in the most mild of ways. I always tease about floggers and such, but being confronted by the business end of one would probably make me hyperventilate. Although you never know...

I'm very drawn to the mental/emotional power exchange in D/s.

i'll confess, that seems rather at odds with your profile statement of "cute and fluffy..."

:>

I think it'd be best if I just keep my mouth shut on this Spotlight. It's getting a bit close to Christmas and I don't want to end up on Santa's naughty list...where I KNOW BGee is.:catroar:

hehe!
what are your favorite kids shows/movies and why? **Waits for Happy Feet**
Dance with me!

Oh how sweet for you BeeG, it's a shame I'm just about to head off to work, still that will give me 12 hours or so to think up some delightfully innovative questions for you.:rose:

OK, bg, here's my usual suspects of questions...

1. what is your favorite word?
2. what is your least favorite word?
3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. what turns you off?
5. what is your favorite curse word?
6. what sound or noise do you love?
7. what sound or noise do you hate?
8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. what profession would you not like to do?
10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

:D Only if I get to lead.

You mean now or when I was a kid? When I was little, I loved Howdy Doody and Mickey Mouse Club. I didn't like it when I was a kid, but I love Wizard of Oz now.

You're right -- Happy Feet is a good one, and I also like most of the Disney cartoons, but I'm especially fond of Sleeping Beauty.

Hoo boy, I is in for it now. ;)

I should go look up what my answers were when we did these in a different thread. Might be interesting to see if they're the same.
1. what is your favorite word? If I go with the concept behind the word, joy.

2. what is your least favorite word? eggplant. I hate eggplant.

3. what turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]? humor, sensuality, understanding

4. what turns you off? intentional cruelty, narrowmindedness, apathy

5. what is your favorite curse word? fuck, and I have to be careful not to let it slip out at inopportune moments.

6. what sound or noise do you love? children's laughter, a purring kitty

7. what sound or noise do you hate? incessant dog barking, fingernails on a chalkboard

8. what profession other than your own would you like to attempt? probably something in the field of psychotherapy.

9. what profession would you not like to do? police officer

10. if heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates? "Welcome. I've heard a lot about you."

ooooh! my turn my turn!

If you could be any lunch meat, what type would you be and why?

What is your favorite smell and what emotion or memory does it trigger?

If you had a million dollars to spend only on Lorna Doone cookies, would you space it out, or blow the whole wad at once, pile them up, and roll around in them?

oh a perfect selection SJ.

Stops and thinks about what I'd like to know about BG.

Where (and when) did you learn to quilt? Which part do you like most about it?

What's your favourite colour? (thinks olive green :D)

In an ideal world (e.g. you enjoyed flying and money was no object) where would you like to travel to? More than one destination is fine.

What colour are the walls in your sewing room?

Have you ever dyed your hair? If so, what colour?

Have you always been this wonderful or did you kind of grow into it?

1. LOL I might say a savory perfectly smoked ham, but probably bologna is a lot closer to the truth.

2. I love the way the house smells on Thanksgiving morning when the air is filled with the scent of sauteing onions, celery and sage. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It just reminds me of all the things that are blessings in my life.

3. Oh man! A million bucks for Lorna Doones? Be still my heart. I'd space it out and maybe share the cookies with a select few true believers in the beauty of the Doone.

I made my first quilt about 10 years ago, I think. I never finished it but I still have it somewhere. I was active for a while in an online quilt block exchange group, which is when I really improved my skills. I really enjoy planning and selecting the fabric but it always makes me happy to see it start to come together.

LOL I've buried the hatchet with olive green. I'm partial to deep vivid colors -- I love reds and deep greens and violets. I have trouble working with pastels. I get bored with them.

If the airlines were more attentive to the needs of disabled travelers, and it was easier and more comfortable to fly, I would love to travel to Australia and the UK. And out west. Maybe New Mexico.

My sewing room walls are currently a pale periwinkle blue. One of the walls is a slightly darker shade of the same color.

Never dyed my hair. It's always been very dark brown, though nowadays more and more gray is creeping in.

Well, I don't know how wonderful I am... But I know I surround myself with pretty wonderful friends and family. Maybe it rubs off?
