Officer says this isn't America any more...

When does a security guard become an officer?

I watched it

where do you see him as a SECURITY GUARD as opposed to POLICE?

he was AXED if he took an oath to the CONSTITUTION, he said YES

since when do mere security guards do that?

why not recognize what is going on instead of OUTRIGHT LYING?

Officer denotes police officer or agent with arrest powers. Guard denotes someone with no arrest powers. Not to be confused with National Guardsmen who usually are only issued arrest powers under martial law. Or Guardsmen who are military police.

he doesnt care

he will make shit up to slant events his way

The laws regulating security guards are generally made and overseen by the states. Of course there are federal laws that apply. Usually private guards do not have arrest powers. They would call in the police to actually perform the arrest. Federal security officers being the exception in some cases. It's okay for them to tell someone that they face arrest or will be arrested. They don't actually have arrest powers.

Addendum
As far as I know only federal civilian officers have arrest powers. States use regular police for these sorts of things.

And he threatened to arrest him where in the video? He said charge with trespass. A guard can call a police officer and ask that someone be trespassed.

I did recognize what went on in the video. You should too. Custodians who work at public schools take an oath too. Does that make them police officers?

I love this shit. The guy badgers the officer until the man makes a stupid statement, then uses that as the basis for his entire video. Let's turn it around for a moment. Had this been a few years ago, had the protester a picture of Bush in a like circumstance, what would be the response then from those yelling outrage now? I can tell you what it would have been and was:
"The fucker shouldn't be doing that and should have his head busted!"
Most people who post this kind of shit, for either side, are hypocrites.

"It's Ok for my side but they shouldn't be allowed to."

I tell you what, why don't they set up an "official" protest site a mile or so away and limit the protesters to that site? That would work. No? Why not?

This might be part of the problem. I never said he was a custodian. And yes, custodians who work in public schools take the oath.

the what does this, (what YOU wrote) mean?

Oh, and tell me

Do school CUSTODIANS take an OATH TO THE CONSTITUTION?

SHOW ME WHERE YOU GET THAT FROM!

I agree with you.

I didn't watch the video, nothing against the posters here just usually can't get them to work from lit. I expect on a site dedicated to the written word that posters will use precise language.

he clearly said

BECAUSE the man was carrying a SIGN with a PIC, he would charge him with tresspass!

clearly the law doesnt recognize that as such

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trespass

If the man WOULDNT carry the sign with a PIC, he wouldnt be charged?

CLEARLY THE VIDEO IS CLEAR IN THE INPLICATIONS MADE BY LC!

Additionally, the officer said he couldn't hold up a sign with a picture. That could be a local ordinance, or a school ordinance. He wasn't telling him he couldn't protest, or that he couldn't voice his opinion, or that he had to move to an "official" protest site, just that he couldn't use a picture. Bullshit, no matter which side is shoveling it is still bullshit.

BB - would you change the year-date in your 'Mob' siggy to November, 2008? Makes it a bit more accurate.

Thanks. :)
