Soul Mate

We met but once as though by chance,
we didn't date, or did we dance.
We looked into each others eyes
without deception or disguise.
A silent message passed between
your hungry heart was plainly seen.
You saw desire I could not hide,
you looked at me and saw inside.

How could a glance have said so much,
and cause a chill without a touch?
What was that chemistry that night,
that promised what we felt was right?
What satisfaction we'd have missed,
If we had not reached out and kissed.
I do not know if it was you,
or was it I who said, "Let's do."
But on that night our souls were bare
as surely as our bodies there.

Our bodies moved in harmony,
I couldn't tell the you from me.
And locked in passion as we were,
my sense of time began to blur.
I must have known you from before,
how else could you have reached my core?
In life perhaps before this one
what had we shared? What had we done?
With what I felt, emotions vast,
I must have loved you in the past.

But now we go our separate ways,
to different lives throughout our days.
I keep you though within my dreams,
Eternal soul mate, so it seems.

Soul Mate

My breath catches in waves,
my heart hammers in remembrance
of a somehow familiar love,
of an enchanting elusive dance.
The resonating voice,
the curve of your lips,
a smile that strikes a familiar chord
from somewhere in the past.
I know you...
I sense you intangible...
just out of reach...
There's a memory burned into my soul
of a promise we beseeched.
Two luminescent souls,
their essence melded into one...
Arching and swirling
against a midnight sun. Freedom and joy,
ecstasy and love
Twin flames incomplete alone...
Yet... magnificent as one.
I have not forgotten or erased
the eternal promise that we made
to find one another
in this new time and place...
I am searching and seeking,
drawing the memory to my senses
though it is still all unclear...
I sense and feel your presence --
this sense of urgency
that I must hurry... pushes me on
Twin Flame... Twin Soul...
Your memory burns strong...
Help me to find you,
to recognize you when I do.
Let the promises of many lifetimes be realized and true.
Twin flame, find me...
Hold me close to your light...
Let me draw from your strength --
let our memories breathe life...
Come to me, my soul mate,
and let our love be
the covenant of a rainbow,
blazed into eternity.

Metamorphosis

when you came into my life
my world was reborn, as was I...
a metamorphosis of awareness,
new growth... taller each day,
each moment with you...
seeing what had been there all along
but through new eyes...
armed with new thoughts and feelings...
your voice rings within my mind each moment...
the feel of you burns intently in my soul...
quiet times with you invoke passion...
your laughter makes me gentle...
your eyes see me at my finest hour...
I belong to you,
heart... body... mind...
and soul...
each moment lived for you, your needs in mind...
I am warm and content
secure in your phantom arms
wishing for more, always more...
wanting it so...
knowing it may never be...

SONNET XLIII, FROM THE PORTUGUESE

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,
I love thee with the breadth,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!
And, if God choose,
I shall love thee better after death.

So Sad

The Night Has a Thousand Eyes

The night has a thousand eyes,
And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies
With the dying sun.

The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is done.

So True!:rose:

Have I Ever?

Have I ever told you
that if I sit really still and silent,
sometimes. I like to think
I can hear your heart beating
in time with mine?

Have I ever told you
that when I watch you speak to me
through lines and cords,
and bytes and ram,
I imagine
your voice,
whispering into my ear?

Have I ever told you
that I wait out each day
in anticipation,
wanting
only an hour or two,
just a second in space and time,
to feel close to you?

Have I ever told you
that there has been times,
when I ached for you,
ached for you so badly,
that the emotions overwhelmed me..
and so I sat and cried?

Have I ever told you
that sometimes,
I will reach out,
touching your name
on this cold screen before me,
wishing
I could reach in
and pull you to me?

Have I ever told you
that after the first time I heard
the sound of your voice,
thousands of miles away,
I sat up all night,
turning the conversation over and over
in my mind,
examining it,
like some newly discovered species of flower?

Have I ever told you
that I would give everything up,
just for one night
to be able to lay near you,
to feel your chest rise and fall
with each breath you take,
just to know that you are real?

Have I ever told you
that I dream of you often,
I dream of you reaching out
and touching my hand,
simply to let me know
that you are there,
and everything is okay?

Have I ever told you,
have I still yet to tell you . . .
that I love you?

Starry Starry Night by Don McLean

Evocative poetry in song accompanied by the art of Van Gogh..enjoy
:rose:

And of course the lyrics

Vincent

Starry, starry night
Paint your pallet blue and gray
Look out on the summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and daffodils
Catch the breeze and winter chill
In colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand
What you tired to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
The did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber gray
Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when your love was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you

Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn, a bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen
They're not listening still
Perhaps they never will

Pour vous ma cher

Two rainbows”
by
cgraven

Two rainbows alone in the ski.

The storm with sudden fury struck.

Biting wind driven rain cuts.

Two rainbows alone in the ski.

One brilliant and vibrant.

One pale and fading.

Two rainbows alone in the ski

Their bows matched in span and breath.

Parallel but destined never to join.

So beautiful My Raven..... and so sad!

Thank You so very much :rose:

The Need to Ache

Let me forego that ache
that infests the loving heart
that sweet smell of asters
drenched in dew.
Let me forsake those first lips tremulous
in splendor of that purloined kiss
that soft caress of fingers in the night
wings of breath upon my ear.
Let me forget the pensive moments
scribbling poetry
the throng of memory and images
that dance with every thought.
Let me wander, set me free
If ever comes that waning time
When the ache, the heart,
The poetic kiss of the muse
Leaves me drained and empty late at night.

The poem Desert Dancing was inspired by the Painting below: Desert Dancing by Jonathon Earl Bowser:rose:

Desert Dancing

Red desert backdrop
to a lusting scene
A beautiful dancer with
ravishing raven hair
Nubile form and provoking
movements
Night closing on the
glorious scene
A young dancer, artist,
among hungry men
Wild music in the hot night
air
Her white flesh, royal red,
a princess fair, dancing
Lustful thoughts of loving
A night of red passion
Among the scorpions and the
starlit magenta sky
Wild movements, carefree
dreams
Raven hair, ivory skin,
red passions, dreams
In desert dancing

Midnight fantasy.:rose:

As I lie in my bed
My thoughts turn to you.
I think of the time
We spent together
And how our love grew.

I miss your voice
As it speaks my name.
I miss your eyes
And how they burn
With a passionate flame.

I want to feel your breath
On my naked skin.
And the touch of your hand
so tender -
Which ignite the fires within.

My mouth deeply hungers
For the sweetness of your lips.
My body craves your touch
As you explore me
With your fingertips.

I want to feel the heat
As the passion quickly builds.
Your caresses and your kisses
Make it easy
For my body and soul to yield.

I want to feel the pleasure
As we feed our lusts and desires.
Your flesh and mine
Becoming one
Burning hot with passion's fire.

Only you can satisfy
And bring me to ecstasy.
Only you can fulfill
My deepest desire
And my midnight fantasy.

A Violent Vision

I can see you:
Your body a tremble with that unholy mixture of need and desire.

I can see you:
Arms outstretched, hands gripping the bed sheet tightly as you ride it out.

I can see you:
Head tossed back, vocal cords a seductive line beneath your skin.

I can see you:
Legs positioned for maximum penetration, open and begging for me
"Touch right there."

I can see you:
Pale skin and purple bruises, a reminder that I own you, right now.

I can see you:
Eyes closed, so that you do not have to see the way that I smile down upon you.

I can see you and damn, baby girl, you smell delicious.

For my friend should he ever admit too such a need:rose:

If ever you need me.

If you ever need me,
I'll be right here,
To chase away the sadness,
And wipe away a tear.

If ever you need me,
I'll be two steps behind,
To follow in your footsteps,
And hear what's on your mind.

If ever you need me,
You'll never have to fear,
That your presence isn't important,
And your love isn't dear.

If ever you need me,
I'll always be around,
To bring back the laughter,
Where deep in your heart it's found.

You'll never have to worry,
For I'll always be here,
To chase away the sadness,
And wipe away a tear.

I am here for you always!

Should the wide world roll away,
Leaving black terror,
Limitless night,
Nor God, nor man, nor place to stand
Would be to me essential,
If thou and thy white arms were there,
And the fall to doom a long way.

Born At Last

I am your journey's end,
my name is "destiny fulfilled"
you are the fyre that ignites my own
a love, a passion so deeply thrilled.

Come to me... let me reach out
and touch your flesh, so hot
you are my lust, my love;
feast on me- in you I am caught.

Whirling winds of passion flow,
between our worlds that are apart,
I travel in the mists of tyme...
to hold your mind and heart.

My blood is mingled in your veins,
of me you can never be free,
Colors burst behind closed eyes,
for only your soul to see.

Your voice whispers to me,
in dreams you come and take all
From my very life you feed
O how I heed your call.

You carry me to a bed of roses,
removing all the thorns,
and I will forever belong to you,
in this love, I am born.

Fucked

The quickest fuck isn't for money but for love unfulfilled,
to be fucked over by a lover who's idea of love is virtually nil.

She knew of love and loss before but never stooped to lust
until she met the man who'd break her heart, abuse her trust.
This man was barely worth the trouble but love makes some blind
and she was more than blinded, also deaf to warnings of his kind.

She watched him like a tiger stalks it's prey, both day and night
and found his traits endearing when to others these would blight.
She turned on everyone who ever tried to warn
and ended up a laughingstock and subject of friend's scorn.

He woed her with his nothingness, the empty void of dick
until approximately one month later, she got sick.
Romeo left Juliet dry-heaving in a ditch
and due to all her credit cards, this bastard was now rich.

She learned an awful lesson in the hardest of all ways
Some men are making love and others just are getting laid.

Luna's Dance

Every night I have the chance,
To gaze above at Luna’s Dance.

As from horizon to horizon she gaily trips,
As each dark veil she slowly strips.

Against a curtain of darkest night,
The spray of stars shine so bright.

And then she stands, both bright and bold,
Her loving tale by dance is told.

Entranced, I can not make myself depart
As once more, her dance does start
She returns her veils with grace galore
And readies herself to dance once more.
