Rope or fluffy cuffs?

If it were just between rope or fluffy cuffs, I'd definitely go for rope. IME, the fluff usually just covers cheap and uncomfortable metal cuffs.
If it were a case of what would I most like my wrists bound with, it would be buckled suede straps.

My vote's for rope.
Since you are able to make passes, loops, and different knots (although slippery ones are most advisable), rope allows for more intricacies in the binding itself. Not to mention it takes a bit more time to tie up some wrists than just slap on some cuffs, so for that reason the experience is more drawn out and takes more focus on the moment. To me, this equals a better time.
Although cuffs do have their place. They're definitely nice for the spur of the moment "HAH!! Now try moving your arms while I do this to you!" sort of way. They're also a bit more portable. However, they are noisy.

Soft leather cuffs -- makes it easy to move her clipped hands from:
behind her back,
clipped to her collar.
Rope is nice for making an attachment loop at her ankles. I can then clip her cuffs to her ankles. Makes repositioning easy.

I own padded leather and suede cuffs, purple and black, wrist and ankle.
But I love rope, hands down.

While ropes, and leather are comfortable, the steel of metal cuffs has a hard nasty reality that is frightening and very erotic. You just can't escape the metal, and then you are suddenly helpless and at your Mistress's pleasure, dis-pleasure, and inevatable punishment.

Use what you want. I'm going to point out though that metal cuffs are a bad idea. They can cause severe bruising, nerve damage and broken bones. Rope, leather, and neoprene are much better ideas.
