Paradise, thats what you most think when they see Rainia for the first time as their airships break through the cloud cover and descend towards their destination, its vast land covered with lush green forests and jungles, all the way to the center of the continent, where a line of great and imposing mountains cut off the view of the other side and force travelers to imagine it for themselves.

Some linger so much on the landscape that they completely miss the capitol until they're right on top of it and about to dock, the architecture is mainly white stone of some kind, with many buildings getting as high as 5 stories, but by far, the most majestic and awe inspiring features of the city to be seen were three buildings.
The first was an octagonal tower, perfectly symmetrical, and almost three times as tall as the other buildings, again made of white stone. The second was another tower, the same size, and partially made of white stone, but the similarity stopped there, it wasn't symmetrical like its counterpart on the other side of the city, it was haphazard and random to say the least, no matter how you looked at it, it just didn't seem to add up, windows were different sizes, things jutted out for no reason, the walls didn't even look like they were the same height, how it stays standing boggled the mind.

The third wasn't a tower though, it was a spire, and massive beyond belief, over twice the size of either of the towers, and it was dead on in the center of the city, its massive shaft having no windows or openings of any kind, and the top ended a platform, on top of which stood a statue of what appeared to be a purple dragon, a stark contrast to all the white stone throughout the city.

But eventually the sightseeing came to an end as the airship docked and the passengers were quickly shooed off to make room for the next lot of paying customers.

The docks were an interesting place, but nothing the passengers hadn't seen before when they were getting on the ship at the other end, once past all the cargo and workers however, there were some new sights to see. There were quite a few booths and stalls around, either selling overpriced garbage to the tourists or trying to get them wrapped up in a guild, group, clan or whatever they wanted to call themselves, as well as some second rate performers and beggars trying to get a handout.

Varthes and Tala

Varthes

Varthes pushed his way through the throng. His eyes scanned across the crowd searching for danger and opportunity. He was in a new land, and he intended to become one of the movers, not a fresh off of the boat victim. He paid little attention to the myriad of people vying for his attention. He gave a little consideration the the guilds and what not, he might have to join one of them just to get anything done in this city.

What he was looking for more intently was others that were new to this land. He wanted people that lacked ties to the locals to make his own power base. He projected an air of confidence and control as he worked his way through the mob towards people that looked like they might have the qualities he desired in companions.

Tala

Tala smiled as she worked her way through the press of bodies. While she normally enjoyed having the warmth of another person, or three, against her, but usually in a more intimate context. She was a social person though and she could feel the excitement of the others entering the new land.

While most of the people were polite to her, few seemed to take any true interest. She took a deep breath and tried to hear the whispers of Sila that would guide her to people that would become her new companions.

Kratash Marshwyrm

He had been wandering aimlessly for some time now, sicne he was freed fro mhis chains had the lizardfolk been working hard to find his old home or a new home, but mostly he gets mobs with torches whenever he goes near them. But this time he had stoved away on an air ship, hidden among the cattle, and was now mingling among the eciting passengers, trying to see where he had gotten to this time.

The view that greeted him warmed his reptilian hearth, the beautiful marshes, the trhick jun gles! This could very well become his new home. And that city wasn't bad either, he had rarely seen such fine cities such as this one. Takign a deep breathe the tall lizardfolk felt like singing a tune but stopped himself, he wasn't the best of singers, and settled down with humming softly while thinking to himself. *Things are looking bright from here on.*

Glindiel

Glindiel had noticed the airship landing, of course. The huge machine - which certainly didn’t look like it could fly but did nevertheless - was the same one Glindiel had ridden here a few nights ago. No doubt it carried yet more excited adventurers. There were a whole lot of those in Rainia already.

Glindiel liked Rainia, so far at least. She had been searching for adventures and new experiences for decades. A new, unexplored continent – that certainly was an adventure worthy of her time! For the last couple of days, Glindiel had been getting to know the town, and she thought she knew it pretty well by now. For instance, the market square she was currently crossing was always noisy with buyers haggling, merchants yelling, beggars whining and performers singing - if one could call that singing, and Glindiel really didn’t. She almost felt bad for the street performers. She would soon take their few customers for herself. Glindiel moved to her usual spot and prepared for her own performance. She took off her robe to reveal her performer’s outfit - a striking red silk dress which was a little too short and showed a little too much of her cleavage. Some girls would be afraid to wear such a skimpy outfit in public like this, but Glindiel loved the attention, and in any case, she certainly could take care of herself.

Glindiel did need the money, of course, but even more than that, she simply enjoyed performing. As she started singing, a few magical, coloured Dancing Lights softly circled around her, moving in such a fashion as to not draw attention to themselves, but simply highlight Glindiel and give her a wondrous glow. Her clear voice carried far to every corner of the square. Glindiel was a beautiful, almost magical sight - a beautiful elven girl in her short dress, surrounded by magical lights, singing with the most beautiful voice many had ever heard.

Varthes

Varthes was pushing his way through the crowd, evaluating possible companions, when he caught the sound of wonderful singing. He worked his way to get a look at the singer. He was surprised to find that an attractive elven woman was the source of the music. He decided to take a respite and listen. Perhaps he had even found a new companion? After all, he knew that bards could be a good ally. As soon as she was done singing, he would approach her.

Tala

Followed the sound of music to its source. She was stunned by the elven woman that was doing the singing. Her breath was taken away by the combination of beauty and talent. She flashed a warms smile at the elven woman, determined to speak with her after the performance was over.

Kratash

The lizardfolk stared at the beautiful woman singing, she was beautiful, there wa no other way to describe it, the lizard humanoid sat down on a rock and watched her dance, relaxing to her singing, by the gods this was something he had never seen before. Sure he had seen preformers and bards, but never one like this... it was... it was... enchanting... Like he couldn't tear his eyes away, and being equiped with reptilian eyelids to see bellow water, he didn't find it possible to tear his sight away from her.

Not many people immediately noticed when Glindiel took to her little stage, really only a raised platform about half a foot off the ground that used to be where a recently out of business kept shipping goods, but as soon as she began to sing, people took notice, the normally loud and overpowering sound of the docks quieting down for her as every head in earshot turned to watch and listen.

When her tune finished and her magical lighting died, the crowd that had amassed remained silent, utterly in awe, then after a few seconds an applause broke out, and countless people walk up to drop something in to the small clay bowl on the front of the stand.

Glindiel

Glindiel beamed at her audience as she took in the applause and gave a little curtsy. She thanked everyone who came to give her some coins, answered to any questions they might have, and turned down gently and cheerfully the few men who came to ask her out. It was always like this, but Glindiel really didn’t mind. She loved being the center of attention, and she knew her performance was good enough to deserve it.

“Sorry, just the one song tonight,” Glindiel said apologetically to those who asked for an encore. The crowd was starting to scatter and the market resumed as always. Not bothering to wear her long robe again, Glindiel collected the money she had received - not bad - and started to collect her belongings in order to go on her way again.

Varthes and Tala

Varthes

Varthes walked forward confidently as the crowd dissipated. He smiled as he extended a hand to the elven woman, "That was an excellent performance. You don't have the same accent as the locals, so I'm guessing you are pretty fresh her as well. I would love to find out what brings you to this land. My name is Varthes. May I know yours?" he asked as he bent to kiss her hand.

Tala

Tala waited as the handsome man spoke to the elven woman. Off to the side she shot a coy smile at the woman as she waved teasingly.

Kratash

Kratash moved over towards the preformer after the show was over, thoug she seemed to already have caught the attention of a well mannered elf, oh well with a performance like that it was little wonder she would get such attention. "I loved that prefomance warmblood, very few of your kindred can make music that attracts my attention so, you make music that lets this reptilian's hard pump blood like it was on fire. Indeed... such a preformance is unheard of to me." Shaking his head as he got lost in a slight daze from his memories of the beautiful perfomance the lizardfolk tried to figure out why he was there again, havign gotten lost in the passion he had felt from the hypnotizing song.

Glindiel

Glindiel looked up at the human ranger. He wasn’t bad-looking, but he had a sense of a man who could handle himself in a battle – and had the experience to prove it.

Glindiel smiled broadly to his compliment. “Why thank you, sir. You are certainly not from these parts either, the locals are not nearly as forward as you are.” Taking his hand, she told him with the same cheerful smile: “My name is Glindiel. But allow me to be as forward as you were: I’m not looking for companionship tonight. In fact, I am planning to get some rest soon enough.”

A tall, beautiful woman was waving her hand at Glindiel. Glindiel didn’t know her, so she merely smiled a bit back. Before she could do anything else, and before Varthes could answer her, however, a large lizard-like creature – Glindiel recognized him to be lizard folk, of course – stepped up to her and passionately praised her singing. Glindiel was actually speechless for a second, which doesn’t happen too easily. Then, she let out a loud giggle.

“My, my,” she said, still giggling. “I have been told my singing has an effect on people, but never quite like that. I indeed got your blood pumping, did I?” A bit more seriously but still smiling, she then added: “I understand how honest your words must have been, and I greatly appreciate them. Might I ask your name, too?”

Varthes

Varthes gave a chuckle at Glindiel's blunt reply. He replied with an arrogant grin, "While I'm certain I would enjoy such intimate companionship with you, that was not what I had in mind. I was hoping to get to know you in more professional manner first. Besides, if you are already tired then you would not be able to last long with me."

He looked to his side where Glindiel had turned to some other admirers. It was hard to keep his eyes from lingering on the attractive woman that was giving a flirty smile to the elf. The lizardman was another surprise. He certainly had landed in a land of oddities.

"Tell me Glindiel, do you know of a good inn around here?"

Tala

"That truly was an excellent performance. I do hope to have an opportunity to take in another," Tala said trying to interject herself into the conversation. She wanted to be part of what was going on. Her spirit guide was whispering in her ear that all of these people would be interesting. The man had a sense of destiny about him. The woman carried an air of adventure. The lizardman carried and aura of chaos. All were things that would make for more interesting days and learning experiences.

"I am Kratash, Kratash Marshwyrm, former warrior of the Blightscale Tribe, former gladiator, former slave and now a simple free reptilian who wanders the lands in search of his old home or a new home. It's a pleasure to meet you Lady Glindiel, master bard of the warmblood." Bowing deeply to the woman Kratash clasped his hands together in deep respect, something he had learned on his journeys from an old monk in a monastery in the mountains. He then tore one of his dark green scales off his body and offered it to the beautiful elf, a sign of deep respect, gratitude and admiration among lizardfolks, it was also used as a sign of proposal, but that was only if you tore off more then ten scales off your fingers. "Take this, a show of my respect, admiration and gratitude for the beautiful preformance."

“Moi moi, you sure know how to geet an audience offlander, Glindiel was it?” a rather chirpy female voice said, but it's speaker remained hidden from view “down'ere big folk” a waving hand drew the attention of the gathered four to a rather short Gnomish girl, already short and looking even shorter since they were all standing on Glindiel's platform.

The gnome had been to quite a few of Glindiel's performances, and had always tipped nicely, with the exception of this time, this time she had something better to give for that stellar performance “i aint seen performances like yours outside'a kings court” she walked over and stepped up on the slightly raised platform, trying to bridge the rather obvious size gap.

“Moi names Mira, pleasure to meet y'all” she raised her hat slightly, then turned to focus on Glindiel “i'm runin a tavern with some friends a'mine, and our regular act's out'a commission, so it falls to Moi to find an act... worthy to take his place, and from what i seen you're more than worthy for our little place”

Enter Katt

Katt found her way off the ship amoungest the throng of other adventures and sorted other beings into the city proper. Her long, thick tail swishly idly behind her with each step she took, moving in opposition of those bare, shapely hips. Her entire tempting frame lay hidden underneath a sheath of crimson fur, thick black stripes raced up her limbs and toned core, even leaving two marks upon her cheeks, one on each. Violet eyes burned with an intense passion, ever alert for something, anything of interest. The ship had been rather boring, little to do save keep her energy pent up and ready to go. Several glances and stares were given at Katt passed, her outfit consisting of little more than a skant leather bra and matching panties, wrapped loosely in a thin veil of black silk. Katt was nothing if no exposed, as was part of her custom. To do any less would inccur horrible penalities upon the part of this beautiful mage.

Fortunately, the fates decided to smile upon Katt this day. A beautiful elven maiden struck up a tune and turned a large part of the market square into gawkers. Most looked a hundred percent gobsmacked at her performance, a fact Katt could not dismiss. Surely this creature would be interesting to talk to, if nothing else. Yet Katt was at least a good fifty paces away before she could reach her, and by then a small group of curious creatures had materialized before her, including several humans, a lizardfolk, and the most adorable gnome Katt had laid eyes upon. It was a sizeable group, but Katt was not one to be shy. She sauntered up towards the group, brushing her way against Varthes and casting a flirting wink in his direction before she confronted Glindiel. From the confines of the small pack at her side she withdrew a gleaming golden coin and placed it in the girls palm. "A lovely show honey. Glad to see the girl's wit the goods flaunting it from time to time."

Varthes and Tala

Varthes

Varthes cocked an eyebrow as the gnome woman made her offer to Glindiel. It was funny how life sometimes offer's up just what you need at the right moment. He turned to Glindiel, "A tavern would provide a good place to talk so that we all might get a little friendlier, and discuss some business."

Tala

Tala smiled as the gnome and then the catwoman approached. This was turning into quite the gathering of lovely women. She let her hand brush against the catwoman's tail. Just enough to be flirty, but light enough to chalk up to an accident if she took exception. She then turned her gaze to the cute gnome and asked, "Where might we find this tavern of yours?" as she gave Mira a flirty smile.

”What do you mean with ’flaunting my goods’?” Glindiel asked the catgirl with a voice of mock annoyance, soon breaking into a laugh. She looked at the strange group that was forming around her.

“You know, guys,” Glindiel laughed, “I usually do get some attention after my performances, but this is turning out to be one of the funniest collections of people I have seen in a long time. I say we move to the tavern before we block the whole square. I won’t promise to sing there,” she added to the gnome, “not yet, at least, but I would like a glass of wine for now.”

Glindiel picked up her belongings and looked at the others expectantly, ready to go.

Kratash Marshwyrm

Kratash scratched his cheek before he checked his supply of gold, he seemed to have enough for a meal and some rest, okay he had a good deal more then that but he wasn't used to money, having been a slave a long time. "Hmmmmm I like the thought of a meal and something to drink, I haven't eaten anything except rats and badgers for the last two weeks, not many who will make a meal for me even if I am paying." Stretching his muscular body the lizardfolk relaxed his shoulders before looking at the gnome. "Where can we find your inn madame?"

OOC: Did she accept the pieces of scale he gave her?

“Dun worry, it'll be made worth it for ya if you do hun” the gnome said with a gentle elbow nudge to Glindiel's side “an don't 'cha worry either big fella, we got weirder than you on staff” she said with a short chuckle, but then she quickly stopped being amused.

“Oi! the only madams I know 're either old ugly nobles or top dog at a brothel” she poked him in the stomach rather hard “so call moi sumthin nice from now on” she locked on to Kratash's eyes and gave him a rather menacing look for someone so small “or else... an no mor free drink for ya when we get there”

She turned back to everyone else, he smile back in place, though the air around her was noticeably less chirpy now “dun worry, the place is just five minutes down main street there” she pointed to a rather wide street opening, big enough for four horse drawn carriages at a squeeze, then started walking ahead of everyone towards it, with her hands shoved in to her pockets and her hips swinging behind her, lowly humming the general tune of Glindiel's song.

Varthes and Tala

Varthes

Varthes happily followed along. Things seemed to be moving along now. He figured that after a little talking he could gather at least a few of these people around him. This gnome woman could likely tell him about the structure of the city. As he followed along he asked, "Mira, we're all a little new on the scene. I don't suppose you could tell me about who the major players are around here."

Tala

"Lets not be left behind ladies," Tala said as she followed behind the man and the gnome. She placed her hands on the back of the catwoman and the elf to gently urge them forward. She was eager to get to someplace where they could sit and talk.

Katt was more than willing to go. Standing out in the middle of the street wasn't her idea of fun, though a nice drink and a comfortable chair might hit the spot. With a slight purr and a nod of her head she followed suit after the small group, her violet eyes drinking in the exotic nature of her new "friends". No doubt she would be getting to know a select few very well all to soon.

The trip to the tavern was quick, 5 minutes give or take with Mira leading them through an alleyway here and there, though if any of them stopped to think they would realize that the route they took didn't make much sense, Glindiel however would know that Allys didn't exactly come out where you would expect.

The sign above the door had a purple dragon etched on to it, with 'dragonscales' written beneath it, the building itself was another example of the brilliant white stonework, but with a number of sturdy wooden extensions.

The interior was much the same, a long bar against one wall with a few people at it but no one behind the counter, quite a few tables in the middle of the room, most of which were full, a staircase leading upstairs, presumably to the rooms and a stage at the opposite end to the bar.

Varthes and Tala

Varthes

Varthes thought the tavern was more than adequate. It was relatively clean and he did not get immediate feeling that the other patrons were sizing him up to still his gold. He made his way to one of the few empty tables and pulled out a chair for each of the women then sat himself down. He made sure That he was seated between at least two of the women. He turned to the Mira, "So, where are the servers?"

Tala

Tala took a seat at the table, inviting the Glindiel and Katt to sit next to her. She smiled as she looked the room. She knew that her pheromone's spell would attract attention and it looked like people were taking a bit of an interest in her and the others. Fortunately, it had a short range. She turned back to the others as they chose their seats, "So what shall we all do with our day...and our evening?"

OOC: Did she accept the pieces of scale he gave her?

OOC: Yeah, sorry, so many people talking to Glindiel at once so I missed that on trying to react to everything :(

----------------------------

Glindiel sat down in the seat between Tala and Varthes. She had been a bit surprised when the Aasimar woman touched her back, but she didn't complain - there was something about her that made her easy to be with, though Glindiel couldn't quite tell what it was.

Sitting down, Glindiel gave the inn an appraising look. "This is quite a nice place," she said, "but remember, I still haven't made any promises about performing here. Now, how about a drink?" she added with a giggle.

Sitting down next to Katt (or Talas) Kratash looked around smilred at the place, feeling his stoamch growl in deep hunger like a lion. "I'd like some roasted boar, I'd like a proper meal after spending the last weeks living on rats and basgers, they are a bit stringy and not very much meat on them. Hmmmm as for a drink, I'd have to say ale, haven't had good ale for two years now." He then stretched his keft arm before looking at Glindiel and spoke up in a curious manner. "Say where did you learn to sing and dance like that? Must have been a very interesting place for you to develop such great talents in the arts of music. The only music I know is a war drum."
