OOC: This is a closed thread for Ravenloft and myself. Everyone else, stop in, take a seat and enjoy!
Rose Wynters
"I can't believe this happened again! What am I suppose to do for hot water? How am I suppose to see tonight? God! I hate this place. Why did I let Alexandra talk me into moving in here?" Rose mutters as she scrambles around the tiny kitchen to find candles and emergency flashlights.
The shadows from the fading light of day grow longer and soon the sun is hidden amongst the hills of buildings. With sunset, the small apartment becomes more grim and even the small brave candlelight is not enough to chase away the uneasiness. Shivering unconsciously, Rose rubs the goosebumps along her arms. "One more phone call and that's it! If the manager doesn't do something about this tonight, I am moving!"
~~~~~~~~~~
An hour and half later, a very satisfied Rose hangs up the cordless. "Yes!" She quickly dials another number. Ringggggg...Rinnnnnnnnggg...Rinnnnnnnnngg- "Hi? Can I make a reservation for a room please? Great! I just need one non-smoking room with a double bed for two nights. Yes. Starting tonight. I can check in right away? Right. Great. Yes. My card is-"
A few minutes later, Rose lets out a cheery squeal and rushes into the bedroom to pack a few essentials. As she pulls out clothes and other necessary items, Rose punches in the number that is ingrained into her brain.
"Alex? Alex! Guess what?"
"What? I just got home. How's the new apartment? Isn't it--"
"Stop right there. You're so called fabo apartment is dark, grimey and without either electricity or hot water. I can't believe you lived in this place for two years!"
"What?! What happened? Everything was fine when I moved out last week!"
Double checking the contents of her well worn bookbag, Rose replies, "I have no idea. One minute I'm taking a nice hot shower to relax and then BAM I turn into an instant icicle! The lights flicker and die and nothing would work. Do you know how frustrating it is to wash shampoo and soap with ice cold water? Freezing water?"
Well, shit! What did you do? Did you call Stanley, the building manager? He's a great guy. Will fix just about anything for you."
Rose falls onto the bed and combs her hand through her wavy honey brown hair. "Well, Stanley is definitly the god of all building managers. I talked to him and he said that he already knows what the problem is and will get it fixed by Saturday. Until then, I'm going to stay at that Holiday Inn resort hotel and he'll refund me the money when I get back. And--crap! I gotta go! Have to be at the hotel by seven or I won't be able to get the special room rate. Talk to you later!"
Jumping to her feet, Rose takes a last look around to make sure she has everything she needs. Tossing her old college bookbag over her shoulder, she grabs her keys and locks up the apartment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unlocking her hotel room, Rose takes in a nice deep breath at the sight. It's the standard room but it had two vital things her apartment is missing at the moment-electricity and hot water! Throwing everything on the floor, Rose unpacks her burger king bag and chows down. After a quick shower, she turns on the TV to watch her usual Thursday night show, the Charmed Ones. Just as the show starts, several yawns overwhelm Rose and her dark hazel eyes become too heavy to leave open.....
