How many people truly believe in the gods and goddesses they worship? Troy Derringer asked himself that a lot. He actually found himself looking for faith, and finding none. But one day, faith found him. He'd gotten off a boat on a deserted island. He was planning on studying the ruins on it, and would end up building his own dwelling while there.

As he strolled up the beach, carrying a backpack and dragging a sled with several suitcases on it, he ran a hand through his dark hair. He surveyed the island, wondering briefly if he'd find anything at all there. He shook his head, dismissing such thoughts, and headed into the trees.

Nothing could have prepared him for what would face him that day.

Contrary to popular belief, the gods and goddesses are all furries. One of them, the Aphrodite, the goddess of Love herself, was relaxing on a makeshift chair out in the sun, her orange and black fur glistening

A few feet away from her, Artemis was practicing with her bow. Her fur glistened in different shades of brown; from a light chestnut, to a reddish mahogany to a dark brown almost black. Her icy blue eyes trained on a fruit and she let out her breath, releasing the arrow that shot true. Moving to retrieve the apple, she carefully placed it next to Aphrodite and sighed, brushing her dark hair out of her eyes.

"I know this is supposed to be a vacation from Mount Olympus, but this is ridiculous. It's all so boring!

Troy eventually ended up skirting around the beach, trying to find a path into the forest. That was when he came upon a sight that rendered him speechless. He stared in awe at the two creatures before him, dropping the sled with suitcases on it.

"That's just because you're so used to action and fighting Artemis. I rather enjoy the peace and tranquility here."

Artemis was just about to answer when she heard a distinct noise coming from behind them. In a practiced movement, she turned, dropping on one knee on the sand, her bow drawn and arrow at the ready. Her eyes opened wide in surprise to find that it was a human.

"Aphrodite, we have company" she said in a soft whisper as she lowered her bow and relaxed watching the man with a slight weariness.

She pushed herself up and glanced at the man. "He looks harmless to me."

Tony cleared his throat, trying to think of something to say. Then he blushed, looking away. "My apologies. I thought this island was uninhabited."

Artemis got up and slung her bow over her head, settling it in her back before she smiled at him. "It's alright. Don't be shy. What's your name?" she asked as she looked curiously at him.

Troy nodded, then shrugged. "Might either of you know where the temple is? I heard there was a ruined temple, and I wanted to see if it held any answers."
