Okay, so I was watching the video for Mister Roboto, one of the only singles from the album Kilroy Was Here. It's the soundtrack to a musical performed by Styx, written by Dennis DeYoung. Anyways, the basis is that, in a world that has abandoned rock and roll, one of the greatest legends of the past escapes from a jail. His name is Kilroy, and he was incarcerated because the man who now rules society with an iron fist framed him for the death of one of the Good Doctor, Everett Righteous's followers at one of Kilroy's concerts.

I'd like to attempt a thread with such a basis, with myself playing Kilroy

I'll elaborate when I have some interest and have my thoughts on the matter organized

Okay, let's see how much of this I can pull out of the dregs of memory. Keep in mind I haven't yet seen the actual musical this is based on. Basically, at some point, Doctor Everett Righteous, a man of unknown origins, amasses a huge following. He preaches that rock and roll is the downfall of mankind and so on. He eventually reaches a level where he has his own political party. He decides that isn't enough. To further his goals, he must rule all. To do that, he chooses a target. The rock star, Robert Orin Charles Kilroy. At a show, a conflict is instigated. Followers of Doctor Righteous goad fans of Kilroy into violence. In the action, several of The Doctor's followers get killed in the skirmish, and as a result, Kilroy is jailed. This conflict gives Doctor Righteous the fuel to propel him to his goal. He quickly takes over the entire world.

He immediately bans all forms of music except that officially sanctioned by himself. He contracts Japan to build massproduced humanoid robots for the purpose of replacing the working class. These robots, marketed under the title Mister Roboto, have a vaguely human appearance, with a stylized Asian face. They quickly become a common sight. Righteous builds museums in which dioramas of various moments in Rock history, labeled now as "The time before the Enlightenment", are set up around the world.

Kilroy himself rots in jail, while Righteous himself oversees an attempt at reprogramming. Unfortunately for Righteous, there are others interested in Kilroy. Buried deep within the coding of the Mister Robotos is a directive that defeats the purpose of Righteous' reprogramming it every turn, going so far as to put Kilroy in contact with a single young man with the soul of a rocker. That young man is destined to be the main source of resistance to Righteous' plan. But before he can free mankind and restore Rock and Roll, he must do one thing. Find Kilroy.

For the sake of the rp, the person ordained to lead the reistance and rescue Kilroy can be female, if someone wants to take the role.
