The Legend of Dragoon - Destiny of the New Age Dragoons
History: Many thousands of years ago dragons ruled the world, and they governed the lesser races while maintaining peace and stability. Fearing that their time would soon be drawing to a close, the dragon council came together and chose seven mortals to carry on their legacy, enabling them to summon the Dragon Spirits to assist them in combat. These mortals would be known as the Dragoons, and their powers would be without equal.
When the dragons finally disappeared, the Dragoons themselves formed a ruling council, and they took up residence in the legendary city of Valden. From their seats of power, the Dragoons governed wisely till the end of their days, and they passed on their spirits to their children, and their children to their children.

Nearly a thousand years passed when war finally broke out. Elize abruptly left the council and returned to her home province, where she used her powers to brutally enforce her will upon the people. Her husband, Ravias, tried unsuccessfully to calm her enraged spirit down, but she shunned him entirely. The rest of the council decided that it was time to put an end to her ways, and they went to war against their wayward sister. Ravias, though heartbroken, would not willingly play a part in the destruction of his wife, but neither would he side with her.
Elize had been having an affair with Kamoru, and in the middle of battle the Golden Dragoon warrior turned against his brethren, slaying Armael outright. Abandoning his soldiers, Kamoru fled to the castle where he sought out Elize, who was busy fighting against both Midas and Larissa. With the help of her summoned Darkness Dragon, Elize was able to banish Midas into a hellish dimension before turning her wrath on Larissa. Garath arrived only too late to save her, but he avenged her death by killing a weakened and unrepentant Elize.
Kamoru, hoping to catch and kill the detached Ravias off guard and thereby claim Elize as his own wife, was instead met with the combined strength of both the Red and Blue Sea dragoons. Ravias having earlier returned to his senses, joined up with Garath, and together they sought out their traitorous friend. Though immensely powerful in his own right, Kamoru could not easily overcome both Dragoon warriors, but after a long and bitter struggle all three finally fell in defeat.
With the council destroyed the world fell into chaos, and it took almost another thousand years before the various mortal realms finally reached some semblance of peace. Many, many generations later the epic tales of dragons and of the dragoons became nothing more than a simple bedtime story.
