Sing, Sing a Song... Chain story

I don't know if they really post more quickly or if it's just my perception. The first few stories I submitted, back in summer/fall 2007, took a week or so to post; after I joined Survivor, my stories usually showed up within 3 days of submitting. That could just be because Laurel and Manu weren't as busy when I submitted, or the process got streamlined or something, but it encouraged me to put "Survivor contest" in the notes anyway. So far this year, almost every story I've submitted for Survivor has shown up within 3 days; the exception was one of my Valentine's contest entries, which showed up the day after I submitted it.

I didn't start submitting to survivor til this year and the only stories that took almost a week were my first couple. Ever since then they average 3-4 days except of course for my first time story that's now pending on it's 3rd and final attempt. I don't put survivor in the comments either.

I have a couple of stories on Lit. that are loosely based on songs. One is "Lola Gets What Lola Wants" and the other is "I Take Emily out to the Ball Game." Maybe I could repost them as part of this chain.

Just a thought, not even a suggestion.

My story "I Can Be Your Hero" is sort of based on the song "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias, but it took a radical turn from the story I'd envisioned when I first decided to write it.

I tend to base quite a few stories on songs, or at least to use song titles as story titles, which is due at least in part to the fact that I'm title-challenged. As I told someone in another thread, lame titles are kind of my trademark. lol.

I've finished the first draft of my story, and after I go over it I'll submit it to post next Sunday. It's probably considerably shorter than Box's, only 6 or 7 manuscript pages (which will be less than a full Lit page), but then again the song isn't that long either.

Off to look up Box's story so I can post the link here

My story is finished at being edited now. I will probably go ahead and submit it on Friday to let the powers that be peruse it to make sure it passes muster since mine does involve incest, non-consent and possible violence. I'll make sure it has a submission date of April 5 though.

Box and Erin, thank you for the kind words about "Good Morning Beautiful". It was written as a gift for my boyfriend, who told me he thinks about me whenever he hears that song. I let him read it after it posted and he thought it was "cute". *eyeroll* lol
