Appearance:
Like the rest of his race, Solus' natural form is humanoid, hairless, and green-pigmented. He is capable of limited shapeshifting, during which his body appears to dissociate into a mass of vine-like tendrils, which then reassemble in the desired form. This ability is limited by his natural body physiology, so he can only take on other humanoid forms with roughly the same height and body mass.

Biography:
Solus and his race, known amongst themselves as Antolans, are one of the natural inhabitants of their homeworld. Although their exact biological origin is not known, they believe that their race was once two distinct lifeforms: a semi-sentient plant form that inhabited the jungles, and an animal species that had developed along a similar evolutionary path as humans. At some unknown point in the distant past, the two species somehow converged into one: a sentient humanoid animal with plantlike characteristics. Although the original animal ancestor subsequently died out, variations of the plant ancestor still dwell in the jungles spanning the planet. As a result of this evolutionary history, the Antolans' life cycles are closely tied to the vegetation of their world -- they can draw sustenance directly from the plant life when needed, and their reproductive functions are linked to the jungles as well. The Antolans live in loosely organized tribal units, primarily to defend themselves from other predatory life forms on the planet. They have developed some advanced technology, mostly bio-organic and focused on healing and energy storage. With recent rumors of the arrival of groups of groups of bipedal organisms not before seen in the jungles, Solus has been dispatched to observe the newcomers and determine if they pose a threat to the Antolans.​
