Poem 1

Moonrise Fright
by MsBug

Leaves aswirl in smoky air
bare branches rattle supplication
small feet wander the night in haste
heightened cravings their provocation.

Creatures emerge in vigorous purpose
evening redolent of ripe confection
undisguised by moon's embrace
ghouls caper dark divination.

Witching hour encroaches fast
high spirits ring out imagination
grasping hands voracious appetite
cavernous sack solitary limitation.

Plundered glee spills forth delight
eyes bulge copious satisfaction
trick or treat's season sated
Samhain's abundance ended.

All Hallows Eve
by UnderYourSpell

In the moonbeams filtering
dust rises here and there,
distant music echoing
through surging shadowed halls.
On the edge of darkness
Deceiving to the eye
unhallowed souls are gathering
to join the dance of death.
Desolate shrouds of misery
frozen nightmares call
on this eve when dead men walk
beware what lurks within.
For somewhere in the darkness
Death will seek you out
and with the souls now dying
meet in La Danse Macabre

ITS HALLOWEEN
by Fire228

Jack-o-lantern smiling bright,
Witches flying in the night.
Ghost and Goblins; cats
and bats. Witches with
their funny hats. A full
moon can't be beat, as
we go out to Trick or
Treat.

Cellar Skeletons
by Hmmnmm

Shoulder tap,
spin, nothing.

Nape bumps, lobes
chilly, nothing.

Singed hair stench.
Not nothing.

As winter’s frosted
razors is presence's
certitude.

Dim watt bulb,
webbed. Click. Wax faces
melting, all. Unseen
too true. One lash,
one blink, one sickle,
one cynic, one more
skeptic, snuffed.

Eight Sweet But Scary Interrogations
by Denis Hale

1)

Will you trick
or treat with me, mama?-- in black face,
through sleepy townships clutching candy-
coated pillow case, with your buckskin
lace and semaphore scarves wrapped
around unconscionable hips?

2)

Would you
kiss me with a mouthful of Charleston Chews?
--milk chocolate on our hungry lips, heady suction
and a pinch between cheek and…

3)

yum, yum, cheek and
yum!… Would you come
with me on all Hallows

Eve?—Come under the sodium lights
while a spectral Jack Beanstalk plays
blues on power line, chrome
fender from Nash Rambler hayride
wrapped around creosote-soaked
oak tree middle finger as a slide?

4)

For that matter, while I laid down my licks,
would you play tricks with me, or confide?

5)

Would you bide your time, trading fistfuls
of penny candy in the roundabout with Ginger
Rogers Tango, till round about midnight?

6)

Would you ask

then,

that I be
unmasked, run a Master
Card on my razor burn, my solar
Plexus as a visa?

7)

Can I please melt
in your mouth?

8)

Will you show me how
to make it last?

All Hallows Eve
by Clock1

They walk the streets darkly
Goth but a Barbie birthday party
In this scream producing scene.
The Great Pumpkin fears the tread.
of denizens through history
awake to walk
lighted paths of cobblestone
and concrete
dark alleys and darker doors
tricked for lack of treat.

Skeletons of glowing bones
ravaged clothing from musty graves
catacombs release eerie occupants
on this All Hallows Eve.
Carbon atoms collected
in polymer containers
foods of gods
dispensed to devils
sustenance for survival
treats to hold back tricks.

Fishnet stockings under short skirts
chains with more at stake than rattling
vampires in a feeding frenzy
goblins seeking the unwary.
Huddled prisoners of the night
await rapping upon doors
from creatures large and small
beggars with the clout of fear
willing to trick
accepting of treat.

They walk the streets darkly on Halloween.

Naughty Red Riding Hood
by DevilOrAngel

Wrapping herself in the silken cocoon of the crimson cape,
Red walked into the forest very aware of her surrounding
Especially on All Hallows Eve when strange creatures were about.
Fondling the cape's braided black tie absentmindedly
She cut thru the darkened woods the full moon the only light
Illuminating her steps as she follow the dirt path deeper into the woods
Her fingertips caressed the silky crimson cape
Her white low-cut shirt seemed to have an ethereal glow
Black lace bra peeked out from the sweetheart neckline of the shirt
Her short black skirt rustled over cream colored lace-topped thigh high stockings
Black leather stiletto boots completed her outfit.

Wind whispering thru the pine trees made an eerie noise
Shivering Red pulled the cape closer
Sudden chills had nothing to do with the crisp October air
Hearing the snap of a twig behind her, she whirled around to see who was following her
Frightened hazel eyes peered into the underbrush.
Darkness was all she seen.
Her pace quickened as she tried to shake the feeling
That invisible eyes were watching her every move.
Hearing something large breaking thru the underbrush
She now knew she was being hunted

As she turned her head to glance over her shoulder,
She tripped and fell onto her back, her breath knocked out of her
Her skirt settling around her waist exposing her neatly trimmed mound to the Beast
Taking advantage of her plight Beast quickly pounced on Red
Licking his lips as he clicked his tongue GOTCHA Naughty naughty Red not wearing your panties
Ignoring Beast taunts Red squirmed trapped beneath her captor
Grinning down at his prize he lounged lazily on top of her curvaceous body
Giggling you wouldn't have caught me if it weren't for that damn tree root
She pouted up at the beast. Shifting slightly under his weight

Smiling devilishly Beast said well being werewolf does have certain advantages
Like right know I know how badly you want me to bend you over and take you.
Trying to close her thighs and pull her skirt down Red raised her chin defiantly
Tha that's not true she stuttered out loud as she blushed as red as her cape.
Beast didn't even argue with her, he simply trailed his fingertips up her thigh
Red kept staring into his dark chocolate eyes as her own body
Betrayed her willingness to do exactly as he commanded
His lips curled into a knowing grin as he leaned forward,
Capturing her soft full lips with his.

Under the watchful gaze of the man in the moon,
She sighed happily surrendering herself to the Beast
Wrapping her arms Around the Beast's neck as her stocking thighs fell open
The Beast entered her with an animalistic growl
Grabbing her full hips taking all that she offered and more.

Last Halloween-Who Got Me Pregnant?
by ramonathompson

Last year
At just about this same time
At a friend's holiday party
Ashamed to admit it
But I got a bit
Yes, just a bit tipsy
Kinda out of control
So much so that I just was't myself that night
You could even say I was sightly more charming and open then usual
Now all I need to know as I hold my newborn child in my arms is this
If there's anybody out there who knows could you please, please share it with me?
The answer to this very troubling question in my mind
Last Halloween-Who got me pregnant?

Don't remember much about that night
All the details are kinda fuzzy and out of sorts
We were all in masks and outragous costumes
Nobody really knew who was who and truth to tell
Nobody really cared
All any of us wanted was to have a good time
Forget all our worries
Even if only for a night
Guess some of us including me took it just a little too far
Cos here I am now with a newborn babe in my arms
Wondering and trying hard to answer this puzzling question
Last Halloween-Who got me pregnant?

If any of you were there do you know?
Could you tell me?
Who it was?
The handsome blue-eyed phantom or maybe it was the guy in the wolf man mask
I honestly don't and can't remember
No matter how hard I try
All I keep coming up with is a blank
No name
No face
Nothing
Nothing the but the horrid thing of having to ask
Last Halloween-Who got me pregnant?

Not looking to force a marriage
Don't want any money or anything like that
I just wanna be able to tell my little girl a name when she grows up and asks
Who is her father?
I wish that I knew
I wish that I could tell her
But I can't and it kills me not to be able to
Spenting so many sleepless nights wondering
All alone in my bed
With this nightmare of a thought growing ever larger in my mind
What if....
What if I never find out the answer to this haunting burning question?

Last Halloween-WHO GOT ME PREGNANT?

Haunted House
by LadynStFreknBed

Falling, face against her yard.
Heaving under black sky starred.
Her senses in fright drowned.
Her fingers gripping the ground
as if to cling to sanity
while fleeing inhumanity.
All she wanted was to know,
to understand where spirits go.
Seeking EVP’s seemed a game
until a ghostly voice said her name.
Heartquake and mind of thunder-
all security torn asunder
Spoken words of phantom source
and scratches from invisible force
scaring her from a new home.
At 3 AM, that’s where spirits roam.

Ghosts Remembered
by Champagne1982

footprints in the mud
down the back alley
behind the discount store

dark shadows steaming
against the brick wall
right at the loading dock

I saw two become one
it didn't grow
just got heavier

I heard it clap wetness
in the dusk and felt
the corner chill to cold

warnings not to pass by here
depravity waits with black cats
witches hats and ghosts

a winter of homelessness looms
unless someone pays the price
for a warm bed and three squares

in blood, in breath, in innocence
a shortcut to those houses
with expensive shell outs

ghost in, ghost out
the monster waits for justice
to treat him for his trick
