There have to be other Brown Coats out there. If you are one, would you like to do a storyline?

I can only admit to having seen the movie, but i thought it was pretty good...i like the whole rebel vs establishment idea....and the space ship with rebel idea....actually thats a reason i enjoy starcraft lol....same difference...anyway i would be interested, especially if we can create our own characters....maybe use the established characters as NPC?

ShivanDragon00: The movie is great, the series is also great, but you get a good feel from the film. I love the whole space western feel of it all! What if we did it as our own crew? No canon characters. I think we could pull it off. But it might be sad to not have the original characters around. We could NPC them and bring on our own original characters to 'Serenity.' Either crew members or passengers.

As for a story line idea, clones always make things interesting.

A question for you all. Would you like it to take place during the series or after the movie?

After the movie leaves room for a few permanant crew members to come on board...
 
Oh what a fantastic idea. I'd love to play Inara, with maybe a submissive twist. Would be delicious to finally see her hook the Cap'n... or whoever. I'd like to play her as a companion who specialises in dominance but secretly craves to submit. I'm also heteroflexible so dalliances with female crew members would be a possibility.

If that role is filled, my second choice would be River. There's so much I could do with her intelligence and apparent madness.

(I'm afraid I'm a kinky cookie so whoever I play will come out more than a little deviant.)

If you want to do this with original characters, I'll have a little think. I still think playing a companion would be a lot of fun.
 
i was always a fan of serenity, movie and series (especialy jane, so crude, so fun)
 
Am a fan of both movie and tv show. Just too bad they pulled it off the air. Would definitely be interested.
 
I'm so psyched a bunch of people are interested. Let me think for a bit about a bio set up and how or if we'll mix original chars and the set crew :)

But I'd like some feedback. WHo wants to play original or canon - or both? You could pick a char to be and have an original. How about that?
 
I've been meaning to post to this. I was wondering what you have for ideas so far. I myself have a character idea in mind. I was in one of these before.
 
I'd love to try it out (seeing as I was a huge fan of Firefly!)

Though, I'd prefer if it's original characters, seeing as it adds more liberty into the characters and such.
 
i personaly prefer playing player made characters, like terra said, it ads more liberty to your style of play

That's true but I must confess to being completely torn now as I'm so fond of the original characters. I think I'd definitely like to be a companion, whether Inara or a newly invented one. If I invent my own companion, she'll probably be a redhead with a little more attitude and a little less grace than Inara... until she finds someone that she wants to submit to that is. :catroar:
 
great idea, and like Velvet, while I love the original characters sooooooo much, i think it might bug me if someone deviated too from from that established char

But if we want to make everyone happy would could do the mix of each, and be additional crew (after the movie I believe there is a pilot position open 8^( , or re-occuring passengers that are highly sympathetic to the browncoat ways...


of course doing it post movie would mean we get to address teh chaos that would ensue from that great news that was delivered.

just a few early morning thoughts!
 
If you do go with the mix or nontrads, I propose the following. A former Operative. Someone who at one point realized that the government was wrong and just...disappeared, leaving no trace of his own existence.

Not really any reason why we can't resurrect him, poetic licence and all that.

Not a bad idea. Think if we go with a mix of trads and nontrads there'll be a fair few of each. Could maybe have the trads and another ship/crew that they haven't seen for years and encounter at some point?
 
I'm so in. I love the shows and movie. I would prefer player made b/c if that person played Inara (for example) wrong than I would get slightly annoyed. Like Inara wouldn't cut out such and such's throat. {Not saying you would do that, but just using it as an example}

Than again if we did do characers I would like to be Zoe, than River, than Kaylee. Perhaps Zoe WITH MY HUSBAND SURVIVING THE CRASH PLEASE! lol

You're fine hon. The OP was unsure whether we should have player made characters or not and a mixture was suggested. That would require some kind of organisation though, which is why I suggested 2 ships. Looks like player made characters are going to get the majority vote though.
 
I'm a HUGE Firefly and Serenity fan. You really have to read the comic book to bridge the show and the movie. I'm generally not a big fan of rebel characters, but Mal is easly one of my favorite characters ever.

I definately vote for making original characters, but keeping the setting and feel. It allows more freedom in how they act and you don't have to worry about stepping on the series cannon. I'd like to play the crew's hired gun. If we do play the Serenity crew I'd like to throw my hat in for Mal.

On a side note, there actually is a Serenity Role Playing Game.

I'd really like it if Wash could be alive too, honestly lol.
