Everything was almost ready. The guests were here, having all parked down the street in the parking lot of the local shopping mall, ferried here back and forth by her little brother Timothy, who'd just gotten his license. He was using their mother's minivan to do the driving, while meanwhile Alaina, the middle child in her family, hurried around to make sure all was in readyness for her big brother's arrival home.

He'd been overseas for far too long, and indeed it had been four years since she'd last seen him. Four long years... She'd only been 14 then. Still a gangly teenager with bad skin and bushy hair, flat chested and not at all what one would call attractive. An ugly duckling for sure!

But now? Well... She'd grown up a little. Standing at 5'2", she was tiny, and adorable according to post people's reports of her. Her hair fell just around her shoulders, soft light brown, worn loose, the waves bouncing slightly around her shoulders. Her soft green eyes were accented by long lashes, and her skin was lightly tanned, thanks to her time spent outside in their family's new in ground pool.

Her body had more than filled out, and she found herself blessed with a pair of firm, perky, young tits, a tapered waist, and nicely shaped hips that flowed down into long legs. For the party she was wearing a simple black skirt that flirted with her legs about midway up her thighs, a dressy short sleeved blue top, and a pair of heeled black sandals.

Their father had gone to pick him up from the airport, and after placing the final tray of finger foods out, Alaina moved to wait anxiously with their guests for the arrival of her big brother, fresh back from his stint over seas. In her eyes, he was a Marine... and even though she hated the war, she looked at him like a true American hero.

Anthony, or Tony for short, had seen pictures. He had been given a couple over the years he was away so he did get to see changes in the family. None of those pictures would do justice to his family once he saw them. He had flew back on a military plane then once at the airport took a more moderate flight to his home. He was dressed in his dress blues. White hat being held as it wasn't polite to wear it indoors. He saw his father standing there and for the first time he can remember, he hugged the man. It lasted a moment as greetings were exchanged soon after.

It wouldn't be long until they were in the car driving home. He looked out the window seeing how not too much of the neighborhood had changed once they entered it. Some shops had closed and other new ones took the place. The children in the streets were probably much older now and inside playing video games. He missed the simplicity of civilian life. He also didn't know how hard it was going to be to adapt back to this life. The marines trained him to follow orders and he did. They also taught him how to think with a squad and react to different situations. He was use to routine. Now that he was out, he didn't know what that routine was going to be.

He was brought up the driveway as he looked to the house. Speaking about the changes he noticed to his father as they laughed as he stepped out of the car. His hat placed back on his head as he grabbed his duffle bag. He looked forward to the house once more as he walked up the walkway and onto the porch. His dad took his bag and opened it for him as he moved over the threshold removing his hat. He looked at all the face standing there looking to him as he smiled. "I'm home." His mother was the first to move to him and move her arms around him and hold her son who had finally come home.

His body only became larger while away. He was still 6'0'' but he had added more muscle. His hair was still shaved short. He didn't know if he would grow it back in. It would take some getting use to if he did.

Alaina was smiling from ear to ear as her brother entered the house and the great cumulative shout of "SURPRISE!" was followed shortly after by his own announcement of "I'm home!". She waited patiently while her mother, and then Timothy greeted Tony.

She and Tony had always been close, and they had written letters whenever possible back and forth while he was away overseas, but it had been a long time, and inwardly, she wondered just how much the military had changed him. Would he still like the old games they'd played? Would he still be there for her to cry on when someone was mean to her?

Would he still be the over protective big brother who threatened the life of any boy who dared look at his baby sister? That last thought made her chuckle inwardly. No boys had ever bothered to pay her much mind unless they were taunting her before. Not that they really payed a lot of attention now... but they didn't make fun of her anymore!

All in all, Alaina didn't have the highest self esteem you would come to expect from one so lovely, but that didn't really matter to her. She was modest, not really realizing just how beautiful she was.

When it was her turn to greet him, she stepped out of the crowd, smiling softly. Eyes beginning to water, she rushed into his arms and hugged him tight, burying her face in his chest before anyone could see her cry. "Welcome home, Soldier," she murmured against the blue fabric of his uniform.

After hugging his mom and shaking his brother's hand before they hugged a moment, playing it off like it didn't happen. He then turned his attention to his younger sister. His eyes taking a moment to look at the woman she had developed into as he smiled to her. He watched her come to him and throw her arms around him.

He was slightly taken back as he wasn't use to seeing her cry as he moved one hand to the back of her head and the other at her shoulder on her back. He pressed his face into the top of her hair as he closed his eyes. "Thank you Alaina. It is good to be home." They remained there holding each other for a moment before he placed his hand to her shoulders and moved her back. His hand lifting as he touched away a tear. "Look at you... all grown up now."

He smiled at her as other people came up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. His hands left his sister as others wanted to shake his hand and hug him. He didn't mean to leave her like that but it was rude to ignore the other people in the house as well. His uniform had a wet spot on it now from her though he didn't notice nor did he complain about it.

The party went on and about a hour into it Tony went upstairs to put his things away. He looked around his room seeing little had changed in here as he looked to his bed. He sat down on it as he looked around. It was a lot more comfortable than anything he had while away. It was also nice to have a room to himself again.

Alaina had held tight to him until he moved her back, commenting on how much she'd grown up. She smiled some, lowering her eyes, one hand hastily(and nonchalantly as possible) wiping the tears away. She'd never been one to cry, especially not in front of people. Growing up with two brothers(even when you're older than one) sort of... 'toughens you up', for lack of a better term. Excusing herself to the bathroom as soon as he was caught up with other people, she took a few moments to compose herself. After all... even if they were tears of joy, his homecoming party was not the time to look like she'd been sobbing.

Checking her hair, she made her way back into the party, mingling and trying not to seem too much like she was going to cling to him for the next hour or so. However... it could have easily been said that no one knew her brother the way Alaina did, and she spotted him when he slipped away with his duffel bag. Of course, he was likely doing so under the pretense that he had to put his things away, but she also knew he enjoyed his quiet time.

Tiptoeing up the stairs with a cocacola in each hand, Alaina slid into his room through the open door quietly. She didn't say anything at first, simply stood there watching him as he sat on his bed. After a moment though, she made her way over to sit beside him, offering him one of the frosted cans in her hand. "I'm sorry about the big hullabaloo downstairs... It was Mom's idea, I couldn't talk her out of it."

She didn't really look at him, just looked ahead, out the window, her eyes soft. "I know you want some time alone, so I wont take long. I just..." she lifted her eyes, turning her head to look up at him, her full lips curling into a soft smile. "Its really good to have you home."

Standing, she smoothed her skirt over her bottom and the tops of her thighs before smiling. "Well... you dont need your kid sister hanging around cramping your style," she said with a chuckle before leaning down to kiss his temple. The movement inadvertantly left him with a clear view down her blouse, to the soft mounds cupped by sheer black fabric.

Without seeming to notice a thing, she stood straight and headed for the door. "Let me know if you want me to bring you up anything," she added.

He sat there quietly just smiling to her as she spoke to him. He only nodded his head when she said it was mom's idea. He was going to speak though she stood and placed a kiss to his head. It was that moment he got almost a faceful of her cleavage. His eyes looking down her top before he looked upwards to her giving a slight shake of his head. "I don't mind you hanging out with me.... it is nice knowing not too much has changed. You still like to come to me and talk." He gave her a smile and a wink as he leaned back into the bed some.

"So when did you get all grown up?" He figured if he started talking to her she may stay a bit longer. He didn't want to be alone exactly, just not with everyone downstairs. He wanted to spend time with his immediate family. He watched her carefully though he tried not to stare. After all, she was his sister.

"I remember you with bigger hair" His hand making the motion as it being more aorund and not to her head and down. He laughed at the thought as he shook his head. "I guess you have all the guys wishing they would have hooked up with you then...." He was thinking how no one probably wanted to date her then but she might have a lot of potential suitors now. "Am I going to have to beat the boys off with a stick? I wouldn't mind..." He laughed again just enjoying the ability to be comfortable with her.

Her laugh was soft, almost musical as she stopped in the doorway, leaning against it. Her temple resting on the door jam, she watched him with a soft smile on her lips. "Beat them off with a stick? Nah, they dont pay too much attention to me. Besides... they all already know my brother's a big time war hero. None of them are stupid enough to come around when you're here."

Pushing away from the doorjam, she turned and walked over to him again, crawling onto the bed beside him and curling up, her head on the pillow, eyes looking up at him. It was a lot like old times... they were still comfortable enough around each other that they could talk comfortably, and she was still as innocent as she once had been, curling up in her big brother's bed just to be close to someone who made her feel safe.

Rolling onto her back, she looked up at the ceiling with a sigh. "Its really good to have you back," she said softly, her eyes flickering to him briefly, passing over the hard, muscled man he'd become. It was amazing to her, he looked so different but at the same time he looked exactly the same. "I haven't had anyone to wake me up from a nightmare in a long time," she said with a soft smile, though she was obviously primarily being playful.

He watched her come back to him and saw her move on his bed. She definately had developed nicely he thought as he was surprised the guys weren't all over her. He shook his head watching her as he turned on his bed sitting with his back to the headboard and his feet on his bed sitting there. "Well I am sure they will come around once they see I ain't sitting by the window with a rifle." He laughed at his own joke before looking to her.

His one hand going to her forehead to brush back some of her hair as he shook his head looking to her. "Well I don't know if mom and dad will like the idea of you sleeping in here when you have one anymore... might be kinda.... weird you know..." He was thinking because of her being such a woman now and him being a man. Well... it was also because they were brother and sister. That part shouldn't be left out. He then placed his hands back into his lap as he looked forward.

"It is different here.... I feel like I need to relearn everything... to readjust... so if I am kinda weird for the next few weeks... months... I'm sorry... I'll try not to wake you up at 5 with a bugle call though." He winked at her as he smiled trying to make jokes as that was who he was. Being serious was usually hard for him.
