We need more threads here from the transgendered community, because we are very misunderstood group. I thought I would add some guidance for visitors to this thread who always seem to have the same questions and misconceptions.
We don't want to look like women just for a sexual thrill like cross-dressers and transvestites. These folks may view themselves as female to varying degrees, but not to the extent of 'identifying' as female. Let's put it this way - they view their female self as a 'secret identity' that they can adopt or discard depending on how they feel at the moment. We don't have that option. In fact, something akin to the reverse is in operation. We have to 'play' a male role because of the gender we were born into, until we find the courage to seek a way out of the trap that society forces us into.
Gender Re-assignment Surgery for a Transwoman is like correcting a birth defect. The head and the heart are female, so If we want to feel complete by having the genitalia conform then it is our choice.
Many question the need for genital surgery, some men because they're squeamish about the idea of 'that' happening to a set of male genitalia, but others because (for whatever reason) they get off on the idea of a woman with a (functioning) set of male genitalia. I've noticed that so far the guys in the 'no surgery' group haven't explained their motives when voicing their preference, and it would be interesting if they were to explain why.
After all that, I'd like to say that 'Yes' Transgendered women ARE sexual people, just like everybody else. Some of us like men, some of us like women, lots of us are bi - and because of the path our lives takes us on we have sexual adventures that would make your hair curl.
Okay, I've thrown my hat in the Arena (it's the one with the pretty flowers on, LOL) - questions?
