Okay, so in an effort to revive and continue the Archive thread, I am in the process of copying the old Archive thread (in the sticky) and will ask Laurel to remove the old one as a sticky and put up the new one once I get it going.

(It's being done this way due to Tatelou's long time and continued absence from the board and no one having the password to the original Archiver account.)

So I thought it best to open a new thread for discussion on what threads everyone feels should be added to the new Library. Please give links to those threads you feel should be included. Thanks! :rose:

(Also, if you know of any threads that go with the existing categories in the old thread, please list those as well!)

The obvious omission is the FAQs - the Frequently Asked Questions on the Author's Hangout. They may refer back to other parts of the Library.

Here are some initial suggestions:


How long does it take for a story to post?

My story has been rejected - why?

Can I refer to sex before 18 in a flashback?

Is there a clique in the Author's Hangout?

Why are trolls?

A story or author I read earlier has now vanished. Why?

How do I find a particular story?

Why does Og wear a cake on his head?

Etc...

And the AH Directory (both threads) ... perhaps even indexed, if you have that kinda time.

Yep, I agree Coming Together should be added.

There's 2 Directory threads? (The sticky one has already been added.)

Some of the most common questions are already answered in the site FAQ for submissions. Maybe include a link? Ones that aren't in the FAQ:

How do I find an editor?

How does the scoring system work?

Which category is best for my story?

How do I remove a story from the site?

Why did my story end up in a different category?

I posted in Loving Wives. Why does everyone hate me now?

Who is scouries and what is his thread?

Why does Og wear a cake on his head?

I was suggesting FAQs specifically for the Author's Hangout - the questions that occur in threads again and again.

And the answer was given in Scheh's thread - because I've got a bald spot underneath and Henry VIII didn't have one. :D

I can't believe we haven't had more posts in here. Does no one have a thread or category they wanted added to the library?



I have a favor to ask. I'm having problems locating some of the threads about getting published that I *know* are out there. I just can't seem to locate them. There's at least one more than I'm thinking of, but I can't remember who started it (I'm think it was 3113 or FallingtoFly). If anyone can locate it, please pm me with it. Thanks!

Okay, so I've made some progress in getting some of the categories filled. Still have a ways to go.

There was one that shereads started (I think) called "If they wrote porn" where we all tried to write porn in the style of famous literary giants. I remember it specifically because Rumple and I collaborated on a Hemingway piece. I can't find it, though. :confused:

People probably haven't realized this thread exists. I wouldn't have known it was here if you hadn't mentioned it in Stella's thread about the forum description; I don't expect new stickies, so I didn't notice.

Shereads, genius though she may be, didn't come up with that thread. It was Luc's.

I ripped it off in a thread called "If They Wrote Limericks."

There are some mighty fine limericks floating around in the AH, but they're scattered among many threads. Would anyone like to see a a compliation thread? Or am I the only one who thinks limericks qualify is literature?
