A very good chuckle for the morning.

End the Hate

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I first came to Literotic in 2002 I chose to post in the Playground because it was the most welcoming board on Lit. The General Board was often full of rants and raves and bitterness. The Playground wasn't. It was filled with friendly, open-minded people.

It seems that things have changed. There is much posted about Freedom of Speech. People claim they will post whatever they want, where ever they want, and that nobody is going to tell them how to post.

What those posters fail to understand is that with Freedom comes Responsibility. We are responsible for what the Playground is and for what it is becoming.

In the past week numerous persons have left Lit. due to the hatred and bitterness displayed on this board. It is up to those of us remaining to change our actions, to make the Playground a friendly, welcoming place to post and play.

I ask that people exercise restraint in their posting. Post as you would want others to post to and about you. As much as possible, follow the requests of a thread's founder. If you don't like the subject matter of a thread, don't post there.

If we continue to devour one another, there will be no Playground. At best what is left will not be a pleasant place.

I urge each of us to do our part to end the hatred and bitterness that have become cancers in the Playground.

At the risk of being hounded out

People fall out online and offline

People take advantage, and get taken advantage of, online and offline

Some people can rally half the membership against one

One can rally a few and take them away

It's called LIFE

And as long as we live in a world where Internet and real life combine, you will get conflict.

I myself was never that involved with the Internet way of doing things, but I know now. I had to meet someone face to face to decide whether I liked them, or didn't. I never had to rely on other "internet" friends to tell me. I've never had an argument with people I met "online" and had a bunch of people I've never heard of, from places I don't know, get into the fight.

I reserve my judgement for PERSONAL experience.

I've never met any members...well apart from Minxy...so why be so hostile to me? You make it seem like you're all so innocent.

It's LIFE, deal with it

Speaking as someone who has been a moderator on another message board, and as someone who has been an owner of rooms within live chat for many years I hope that my contribution will help in some small way.

If LIT or PG has no rules that define harassment then the mods must obey and allow freedom of speech.

As it is a "free speech, no spam" site, then you really have to take the good with the bad.

As I've said, when real life collides with an internet life, then fallouts will happen. They may happen between a few people, but the most prolific will have a lot of support.

And the ones who have little support get driven away.

When all is said and done, the people who use Literotica are humans, they have faults, they have different personalities, different values, and to be hounded and driven because of that, well it's not quite right.

You swap email addresses and phone numbers at your peril, because a whole lot of people who have no idea about any of it, will pounce on you.

And they will drive people away

Human politics It's the same the whole world over, the power and the impoverished get the blame. If only we could meet and talk it over. Ain't it all a cryin' shame?

Minxy says hello
