(Need 1 female to take part as Rita Haywood. PM me if interested)

Watts, Los Angeles, Present day

The crime scene looked just like the the three previous ones Jake Winters had been to. The victim was a male in his mid to late twenties. He had been savagely beaten to death with a blunt weapon. The difference was that his head was still attached to his body. He was stripped naked as he was pinned to the wall of the Church of Christ.

Jake look away from the cold corpse and sigh deeply. No doubt now. They were dealing with a serial killer and this was the fourth victim. There could be more who had fallen prey to the serial killer of course.

"The forensic team on their way?" Jake ask Oscar Mullen. Oscar was the only guy Jake could actually call a friend. They had known each other since they joined the academy at the same year. They had a friendship that had evolved from a healthy rivalry. A rivalry that had pushed them both to become the best at whatever they did.

"They are here in five." Oscar responded as he took some pictures of the surroundings.

Oscar and Jake was as different as two men could be. Both in looks and personalities. Oscar was blond and with his blue bright eyes he looked every bit the surfer guy he was. He had Jakes six feet beaten by at least four inches.

"Good. This guy shouldn't be hanging there like a lamb that have been slaughtered." Jake mutter as he look back to the poor man.

Jake have raven black short hair that always look a bit messy. His grey eyes have an intensity not even his line of work have removed. A two days stubble cover his face.

He hear a new car arriving and smile a bit as he see the van with the insignia of the Forensics pull in to the parking lot. He go over to the van as Doctor Jenn Marshall steps out followed by her assistant. The assistant carry the bag, containing the items used in their work.

"Messy?" Jenn ask Jake as he approach her.

"Not like the others but it look to much the same to be any other perp." He say as they walk over to the victim together.

"Right." Jenn turn to her Assistant. "Start up." She order him.

Fifteen minutes later the initial examination was done and the victim lay on the ground.

"Well. From what i see the death was from a broken neck. Need to examine him further to be completely sure though. She look at Jake.

"He's human. Not a vamp like the others." She state and smile a little. "Don't think i surprised you there did i?"

"Not really no. He wasn't as messed up as he should have been if we had a dead vamp on our hands."

Oscar come over to them and look down at the body. "Just talked with the Captain. There are someone coming to aid us in this." He shrug a little. "A Rita Haywood." He look at Jake with a raised eyebrow. "She's a vamp. Apparently the council want her in this mess."

"The victim are human and if the council want in that mean they already know that and it may also mean that they suspect a vampire to be responsible." Jake say and hope he are wrong. A vampire on a killing spree wasn't a good thing.

"She's on her way here now. Patterson want her to team up with you. I am to hot looking and he don't want her to be tempted to eat me." Oscar grin at the snort from Jake.

OOC: Sorry it took me a while..had a nasty case of flu...

Rita was not happy with the council decision, but she kept that thought to herself, as she presented an emotionless face common among older vampires. The idea of working with the human police on a vampire case did not sit well with her, but the ruling body’s verdict is final. A century-old hunter, she had served the council as part detective, part bounty hunter of the undead, usually called upon to handle cases of vampires gone rogue that need to be taken cared of quickly and efficiently before they can do damage to both population, vampire and human. Good at her job, she is used to working alone. However, as part of the council’s move to create positive press for the vampire community, it has been voted that they will cooperate with the local law enforcement.

Now on her way to the latest crime scene, dressed in boots, tight black jeans, and dark red shirt, Rita is slightly on edge about working with the police, who does not hold much of the undead in high regard. Stepping out of her vehicle, she barely nodded at the uniforms milling around, flashing the ID that was given to her earlier, as she quickly moved towards the front of the church, where she can see a covered body on the ground and smell stale human blood. She purposely ignored the appreciative glances from masculine eyes as they ogled her petite 5”4 frame, the silky black mane and the almost pale translucent skin contrasting against the scarlet of her blouse.

Upon reaching her destination, she immediately sensed the hush that descended among the three people who were obviously bantering around, seeming unconcerned that there is a corpse nearby. A tall, blonde guy who would look more at home at the beach than in a crime scene, a brunette wearing a jacket with the letters FORENSIC emblazoned on its back, and a black-haired guy who even without saying a word she knew is a detective. Its there in his confident stance and in the alertness in his eyes.

Without breaking a stride, she pasted a professional demeanor on her face, smiling just a little making sure not to show some fangs, she moved forward and calmly introduced herself, “Hi! My name is Rita Hayworth, and the council has assigned me to be the vampire expert for this case.”
