Participating

You do not have to participate in the immunity, and if you do, you don't have to accept the immunity. Pick a number between 1 and 49, then post your guess here. You can pick a number that someone else has picked, so don't worry if someone already has your number.

The number you choose will, by default, be added to the rollover list and remain registered for you indefinitely or until you choose a different one. If you are missed by the moderator for some reason, your rollover immunity is still qualified if you request it in an immunity thread (like this one), even in future immunity threads. You may change your rollover at any time simply by posting a request for it. In order to make sure your rollover applies despite moderator error, you must post the request for it in an official immunity thread.

Remember - You are responsible for your own immunities. You will not be notified that you have won and you must use your winning immunity in that week or lose it.

Winning An Immunity

If you've won an immunity, the first thing to do is make a post in this thread (and only this thread) that you've won an immunity and which category you will use it for. This is the only way you will earn the immunity.

You have until 7:30 PM GMT on the following Wednesday to claim your immunity here. After that time, you have lost the immunity.

Do not edit the post after 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday. If you do so, your immunity will be invalidated. This post is the only way we have to verify the immunity and the category you choose.

An Immunity Rule Refresher:

Immunities are won based on the weekly Wednesday Lottery available here: http://lottery.merseyworld.com/

Entrants can select a single number between 1 and 49. The selected number must be posted by the entrant prior to 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday for the number to be consider for that day's draw. That is 7:30 PM in London on Wednesday. For the timezone illiterate: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html

Good luck!

I'm feeling lucky. I'd like to stay with my same number, my birthday, #26.

Thank you and Happy New Year to you and to your family.

I would like to try my usual rollover number of 35, if that's available.

Thanks

2008's first immunity winner is: EbonyKitty

If you've won an immunity, the first thing to do is make a post in this thread that you've won an immunity and which category you will use it for. This is the only way you can claim the immunity, and you have until next Wednesday at 7:30 PM GMT to do it. Also remember that it needs to be added to your scorecard listing the correct category and today's date.

Could I take number 10 please on roll over.

Can I ask....if you use and immunity and then later write something in that category, can I remove the immunity and replace with a story??? Thus loosing the 2 points for immunity but gaining 3 for a story?

Thanks
PF

No. Once you use an immunity, that category is closed; any subsequent submissions to that category would be ineligible for points.

I was pretty sure that was still the case, but there was nothing mentioned about it in the rules.

Immunities will disqualify any future story from that category. Once the immunity is posted, that category is closed to submissions.

This is all it says about the topic in the rules. I interpret this to mean that it is not reversible, though I'll admit that it could probably be stated more explicitly, to prevent confusion.

What about changing a story from one category to another. As you know, when we put a story in a particular category, it is a request, and the story goes wherever Management wants to put it. An example: Last year, I had only one category open, E/H, and I had finished an entry for the Halloween contest, and submitted it for posting to that category. Not unreasonably, it was posted to Celeb.

I had won an immunity the previous Wed. and I used it for E/H. I would have preferred to have had the story posted to E/H, but I decided to take the easy way. If, instead, I had ented the story in Celeb and later asked to have it changed, and not had an immunity available, could this have happened.

So far as scoring goes, there was not a speck of diff. I was credited two points for the immunity and one point for the Celeb story, instead of three points for an E/H story. I just prefer to avoid using immunities when it's practical.

I see what you're saying. Though I think in that case you might just be S.O.L. :D

If it happens again, Box, just ask Laurel to re-post it where you want it and give her a good reason. She'll usually comply.

I wanna change to #22 this year...

Immunities will irreversibly disqualify any future story from that category. Once the immunity is posted, that category is closed to submissions.

There. ;)

That means you should be careful when picking your immunities, I guess. They're not to be used as strategic backup, just in case. They're supposed to be for categories you're not interested in writing. If you have no intention of writing an incest story, for example, I'm pretty sure you won't end up writing one by mistake. :D

That's pretty much what I do. Audible or illustrated stories are very difficult to complete, so I use immunities for them. Audible or illustrated poems are easier, so I will not use one. I have no interest in writing non-erotic stories, so I will probably use one there, if that many are available. I write one EH story a year, for the Halloween Contest and if it is not accepted, I would try to use an immunity for that too.

I have written an incest story by mistake. "Stephanie's Back Door" was meant to be an anal story, but was posted to incest, because it involved her and her stepfather. I wrote a Fetish story by mistake. The first story about Jill, a TS was meant for the TS/CD category but ended up in Fetish, for some reason. Similar things will probably happen this year.
