Humiliation was a close to hard limit for me at the beginning. As my trust in my Dom increased so did my interest in humiliation. But it is not something I discuss. In a way my first response was serious. Humiliation is a very private thing for me.

well, i can understand that... i was also VERY private about my submissiveness in the beginning.. i had a Mistress many years ago who dressed me up in a French maids' outfit and made me clean the house in front of several or her friends.... i was FREAKED OUT and SOOO ashamed... now, after many years of exploring humiliation in RT and in fantasy of the mind, i wish i could have a similar experience :)

I was trying to be funny, too. :)

What enabled me to enjoy humilation instead of run away from it was that truly humiliation is in the eye of the beholder---or more correctly in the eye of the one being humiliated. Being put in a situation that others may find humiliating but keeping the mindset of it being a service or matter of surrender to my Dom makes it really fun. Becomes something I embrace and am proud to do.
 
yes, i understand the feeling of the surrender of it... i think that this is the aspect i myself like best about humiliation play :)
 
I have humiliation as a hard limit, simply because I associate it with emotional abuse and as I have been there done that for far too many years in my first marriage I do not want anything to do with it.

Luckily Master has no interest at all in humiliating me. We engage in some gentle teasing between ourselves, and He does love to see me blush, but there is laughter involved rather than shame.
 
If I think someone is actually trying to humiliate me, that's likely to be the end of our association.

yeah, i agree with that... i dont get excited by being humiliated by the big stinky drunk guy sitting next to me at the baseball game... but being out with a female friend and having her tell me to go pick out a new pair of panties for myself at the mall and make sure i ask the cute sales lady if these should fit me ok certainly gets me hard :) hehe

its not done in a sexual way... if you call any victoria's secret or any other lingerie shop and ask if your boyfriend can come in and get fitted for bra and panties, they will tell you absolutely. It is their policy to not dscriminate against sex... (not SEX, but male/female) :) hehe...

...anyway, its not done in a sexual way.. when the sales lady asks if she can help me or if i have any questions (which they always will in VS), i simply ask, "would these fit me ok?"

i have always been answered with total interest from the girls... they may smirk or whatever, but its not offensive... ive even had one woman who took it to the next level and ASKED ME if i also needed help choosing a bra... then SHE suggested i would also look cute in stockings and a garter so i had her help me with that too...

anyway, i would not involve anyone non-consentually... i hope this clarifies this. :)

One more thing... humiliation is always a very touchy subject... i know your concern is the consentuality, but i dont think this activity crosses that border... of course, if anyone feels differently, i respect their opinion :)
 
I used to sell lingerie for Meier and Frank. I would have been uncomfortable fitting a man, although I probably wouldn't have turned him away. But quite often I was in the fitting room with girls (and women) who weren't sure what to get and helping them into whatever and giving advice on the fit.

I was trained to fit people for bras properly. I was trained to fit them for 'shapewear' (girdle and stuff), and I was a good enough sales person to say 'such and such would look good with that'.

The key is sensitivity. If you have helped a woman find a bra, and she's hovering outside the stall uncertainly that's when you ask if they want help with the fitting. If she gets her own bras, or goes into the stall confidently don't ask. *shrugs*
 
true... its also about tact and not looking like a psycho... if you are clean looking, respectful in demeanor, and kind in word, the experience isnt like one where some perv wants you to fit him for lingerie :) also, if its done at holloween its easier OR if you need womens clothing for a movie shoot, the girls have a lot of fun with it... :)

I was surprised. I wasn't sure I believed it, especially in my city but it's interesting. I frankly don't have a problem with much if it's done consensually.

I rather like the Frankenfurter look.
 
I think if you do want to play in public like that, be contextually aware.

VS in NYC, I'd do it in a minute. VS in suburban MN, no, I just would not.

Add the Victoria's Secret trip to the list of things my university would probably never let me do on a research project! You would certainly at a minimum need to get informed consent first - call them, tell them who was coming, why, to do exactly what, etc.

It's sad, but having to take the ethics training has sort of killed a couple of my own public humiliation fantasies for this reason; I realized I would hate to make someone really grossed out or uncomfortable.

Still, I rate erotic humiliation high among my own fantasies, not only public but private scenes.
