Welcome to all Military men & women, spouses, friends, and just overall..... everyone!

Sometimes we need a place where people understand us and the lifestyle we are in. Sometimes we need a place to vent where people won't be offended by what we say. Having met some military, retired military and others familiar with the military has been a great thing for me.

I'm a Marine wife of 15 years.... and have been through MANY deployments - currently in the middle of a 13 month pump.

Kick back, relax, and enjoy community and friendship! :rose:

Welcome! Starry said that she had mentioned that we would be starting this thread. It always feels good to be among friends.

Well count me in too

and two fantastic AV's to greet my eyes didn't hurt either

When your loved ones return home, do not expect them to be the same person that left. They will have seen and done far too much out of the "ordinary" to ever be the same again. Give them time to readjust and tons of hugs.. ;)

Great to see you in here. Believe me - I'm well aware of this. This is now our 8th deployment in 15 years. Even our kids know and accept it.

I've been in the Marine Corps for the past 8 years. I'm currently stationed in NC, but heading to Southern California next month.

A Pendleton move? That'll be a big change from CP. Good luck with that. When we move in the spring - it will only be about 2 hours from here - so that won't be difficult at all.

Put a candle in the window, 'cause I feel I've got to move.
Though I'm going, going, I'll be coming home soon,
'Long as I can see the light.
Pack my bag and let's get moving, 'cause I'm bound to drift a while.
When I'm gone, gone, you don't have to worry long,
'Long as I can see the light.

Guess I've got that old trav'lin' bone,
'cause this feeling won't leave me alone.
But I won't, won't be losing my way, no, no
'Long as I can see the light.

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Oh, Yeah!

Put a candle in the window, 'cause I feel I've got to move.
Though I'm going, going, I'll be coming home soon,

Long as I can see the light

Im a navy brat. My father was in 30 yrs...1941 to 1971. By the time I was 10, he had been on 4 deployments in the Gulf of Tonkin..he worked the flight deck on carriers. There isnt a day goes by I dont think of all the men and women overseas and say a silent prayer and thanks for them and their families.
