There is just something about this group that does not draw me in. I read this about 4 years ago before moving back to Kansas and just checked today to see that are still listed. It is. I'm about 60, and a bit overweight, and wear panties and such - I do not read this as welcoming. But I could be wrong.

"Our group is based out of xxx Kansas and is solely for membership of Male Dominants and female submissives. Our philosophy is as follows: A male dominant takes pride and responsibility in his appearance, health and behavior. If a Dom or sub maintain an unkept appearance, weigh 30 lbs or more above their ideal weight; or if they are found to be irresponsible and offensive in BDSM play, then this is not the group for them. We celebrate striving for perfection in D/s as both a lifestyle and recreational play. Our group welcomes the experienced and the new."

Wow.

That's a very closed and judgmental sounding group indeed.

Welll... ummmm... I'm trying to find something positive to say, but all I keep coming down to is that while health and all is important, it strikes me as a bit of an immature attitude, really...

Shanky, I'd let you in my BDSM group any old time (if I had one).

:rose:

piss on the sodders.

if they can't see how cool you are my sweets, they are nothing but ass hats in tight ass spandex.

oooo

spandex

where is that paddle??

LOL, obviously they are so experienced they have not figured out that reaching perfection is an impossibility believed in only by those who believe the porn sites depict BDSM as it really is. :p

Catalina :catroar:

Though I wouldn't want to join a group such as that I do feel they have a right to exist. It's nice of them to make their philosphy so clear so that people can avoid their closed-minded group so easily.

Yes - they do have the right to exist, and I do hope that are happy in their community.

and I feel a little shitty about myself over how I feel about them, I try to keep my judgments about others to myself, but whenever I think about them I visualize three guys setting around saying "any day now we will have our little subs to order around - yup, any day now"

but there are times, mostly after reading the asshat thread, that I worry about the number of men that don't seem to have a clue.

I am reminded of the time I was at a trade show in Reno. I had been to Reno many times and sorta know my way around. For several of the men it was the first time in town and they wanted to visit the Mustang Ranch. So I took them. On the way back into town one guy stated how disappointing an experience it had been - they all looked like real women and not Penthouse models. Then he said, "wait till I tell my wife where we went" (he had not sampled to offerings, but stayed in the bar and just talked to the ladies) - we all shouted "No! Don't tell her!"

A month later I spoke to him on the phone. The first thing he said was "Mistake! Big mistake!"

hee hee - that poor man

Believe me, I'm beginning to understand the number of men who don't have a clue, but I must say, it makes those who DO have a clue stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Kinda reminds me when I was in the Army.. whenever we'd go TDY (temporary duty) to some place we'd always wind up in the titty bars; even the married ones. It was always "assumed" (of course we know what that spells) that "what happened while on TDY, stayed on TDY". Some asslick decided to come clean w/ his wife after a particularly long time away from the house and told ALL about ALL. The only people that won out were the divorce lawyers.

...so where's the love?

I don't know... each to their own I guess. This group seems to be very focused on the physical side of things rather than relationship building. Being accepted for who we are (lumps, bumps and all) is very important to my sub and myself, so I'd avoid these guys like the plague.

Just a thought.

Dayum, CM.. the rumors ARE true about you falling hard.

Those guys are probably so narrow minded that their note pads are 1 in x 1in.

Just an observation, mind you. ;)

Wow, I dunno I'd want to be involved in a group like that! Lucky for me I'm well over 30 above my ideal, so they can bite my big round ass :p

You know what is sad? I am sure that there are quite a few young women who do find that sort of attitude attractive. The think that all they have to do is be pretty and thin and they can have these great looking men. The world is full of shallow men and women who can't see past appearances. Their loss.

//thread drift alert//

Chris--my husband ALWAYS tells me what he does while TDY, same as I always tell him what I've done while he is TDY. Honesty is good for a marriage, at least ours.

//thread drift over??

I am over 30 pounds over my ideal weight and I bagged a pseudo John Cusack who could break hearts if that was his bent.

I love my fat ass.

Maybe there should be a special group that you can only be part of if you cant/wont join theirs!

Way too much effort. Besides, I have nothing against the skinny and hot.

Dude, you have no idea... I haven't even skimmed the surface of the coolness swirling about my world right now. LOL

There used to be a swingers group in Las Vegas that had the same philosophy.

So, I wonder if they have trouble finding members perfect enough? Or do they have a scale, like Weight Watchers?

Seriously...that group HAS to be 3 guys sitting around...looking at each other...whining..."where's the girrrrrlllllllssss dude?"

OTOH....i know a "lord" or two who's ideas would fit in quite well/

If I were "perfect" I might be dead from exhaustion. I think one of the reasons my daughter decided being a Domme was a worthy job was the caliber of men who I always ended up with.

I do not have to look like Halle Berry to get men of high quality and good looks. I just have to be me. And unlike Halle, my men are faithful.

To each his or her own.

tho i can understand why many would have a problem with such a group, and label them as immature, superficial, etc., i can certainly see why it would exist. oftentimes at lifestyle clubs and gatherings the overwhelming majority of the people in attendance are wayyyy out of shape, of below average attractiveness, and many are even slovenly or lazy in the way they carry themselves. this is not to say that everyone should look like calvin klein models, but it can be a bit odd, not to mention disheartening, when it becomes a RARE thing to come across a reasonably attractive, body conscious lifestyler.

just because appearance matters to some, does not mean that it's the ONLY thing that matters or even the most important thing. perhaps this is a group of people who grew tired of attending events chock full of what they considered to be less than desireable (physically) folks, so they sought a way to do something about it. kudos to them for trying.

Whattevah!

If it floats their boat rock on.

But I doubt they get national presenters come in to teach classes. viola Johnson wouldn't be welcome. Neither would Lady Catherine Gross.

I doubt they get lifestyle authors to kick off book signing tours at their exclusive Stand & Model group. Laura Antoniou wouldn't make the cut. Nor would John Warren.

I would imagine that their exclusivity results in a small membership, therefore limiting the things they CAN do... But that's their call to make.
